"Hello Professor Lainey." She said smiling at the professor. She looks somewhat better then she had a couple terms ago. Still seems a bit paranoid though. "It's me, Ariana. I haven't seen you since you grew out of the likeing to suck on your toes phase." She said with a smile. |

"It would be polite, young sir, for you to keep your squat little nose on your face and out of my business. Have you ever been taught proper manners?" Lord Borr seriously doubted he had. "Perhaps I can advise you on things such as this in the near future. Though, I must warn you. I am terribly busy and import - Branxton you old horklump you! Good to see you, jolly ole boy." Lord Borr slapped the old man hard. "You know that place has fallen apart since I left. Can't bloody well leave here though. These children need me more and you know it. Have a seat, old man, have a seat indeed. Right here beside me." Lord Borr tried to shimmy over to give him room, but his seat wouldn't budge. |

"He's allowed to stay as punishment. He's the caretaker. Toilet washer. Puke scrubber. Very nasty and I'd just avoid him like the plague if I were you." Lainey had to take a moment and stare in awe at him. Amazing. "Oh yes, Ariana. It's very good to see you again." Then she had said something about sucking toes. "Pardon me...?" Lainey surely was hearing everything wrong today. |
eliza was worrying about something she'd heard so she wanted to ask someone about it."erm...i'm eliza and i...er...." she was thinking about how she could say it. |

A blonde headed Slytherin fourth year approached the table. His initial intent had been to wish the headmistress and professor Branxton congratulations as he had missed the reception over the summer. "Hello Professor Branxton," He greeted his head of house with a polite smile. "I just wanted to wish you and the headmistress congratulations." He explained, then turned his head in the direction of her seat, where Borr was seated. "But apparently she hasn't arrived." He continued. "So Congratulations." Grinning evilly, he headed over towards Borr. "Hello Sir." He said in mock respect. "Taking over for the headmistress now are you?" He asked him, head cocked to the side in question. "Have the students been warned?" He asked him, sounding quite aghast. Putting on an innocent face, he shrugged. "I'll surely pass the word. Indeed, I know many sudents who would like to speak to their parents if this is so." Shrugging, Kris walked off before Borr could respond. |
Hazelle nodded in agreement to avoiding the fat lump known as Lord Borr and gave a speculative look at Lainey's amazement. Merlin, no, please. Quote:

Hazelle stared in shock, who had squeeled?! Who on the bloody earth had squeeled? She gave a closer inspection of the woman standing in front of her....older yes, but...still her. "Ariana?!" she said with some shock. She smiled, she did know someone afterall, "It's good to see you again, sudden, unexpected and not quite the first words I had ever imagined, but still good." She realised then that Lainey had heard what was said, and blushed. "Err, Professor, Ariana used to babysit me." she explained, hoping none would ask for baby stories. |

He made no mention of the fact that Borr was in her seat, though he was determining a way of broaching that subject without the highly explosive man blowing up at him. Years at the Ministry had taught him discretion when dealing with Berty Borr. |
Professor Virohsa watched the new professor with curiosity. Sure, that perhaps, there was something more than met the eye. She looked around and spotted Professor Lainey. She wondered if she should warn Lainey about the letter, but deciding that there were too many ears present, she moved her attention elsewhere. |
eliza tried again "hello professor's i'm a gryffindor and i've got aquestion i want to ask." |

Ariana laughed as Hazelle recognized her. "Yeah, didn't exactly expect to see you here either...much less have that be the first thing I say to you." She gave the girl a hug." It had been to long. She turned to Professor Lainey and gave her a wink. "Oh, the stories I could tell you...but won't, unless sufficiently bribed of course." |
"Oh well better you sucking toes than me," Lainey laughed. Well, one good thing Lainey could say. She was no longer the oddest staff member. "Virohsa. Have you met Virohsa? She's a Herbology Professor. Virohsa, this is Hazelle and you remember Ariana?" |
Matthias was still pondering Lord Borr's numbers. Did the man realize that titles did not count toward the name? Matthias opened his mouth to report this, but was astonished as the man yelled at number 9 who had come to the table and then nearly knocked another professor over. He would definitley have to tell his Arithmancy friends about this. The charming professor was now talking to number 9, whom Matthias had not yet met, and some students. She was, of course, correct about atoms and numbers. It was a shame she had trouble with Arithmancy. He smiled encouragingly at her thinking he would have to give her some tips later. At this moment he noticed that number 1 at the table seemed to be looking at him. He wondered who she was. |
"I don't have time for a wife, myself," Lord Borr explained. "Being such a high priority role model and all leaves little room for frivolous acts such as marriage." Lord Borr laughed loudly. Probably louder than the whole Great Hall combined. "But, to each their own, old man, to each their own!" Lord Borr knew better than to bad mouth another man's wife, even if said wife was Headmistress Rae: Ruiner of all the children. |

Hazelle laughed as well, then turned to the woman Lainey was introducing. "Hello Professor Virosha," Hazelle greeted her and extended her arm toward her. |
Matthias happily went back to calculating with his abacus as numbers 1, 5, 7 and 10 conversed. He would figure out who they all were later. He did realize, however that number 11 was the groom from the wedding. Matthias decided he should congratulate the fellow number 7 and went over to do so despite the continued presense of number 8. |
Cassandra came over to the Staff table again. This time she walked straight over to the professor who came into the Great Hall last. "Professor Doyle," she extended her hand to shake his "The other students at the Slytherin Table informed me that not only are you the Potions Master, you are also Head of Slytherin House?" Cassandra smiled slowly "I'm Cassandra, and I'd like to say, I am looking forward to the term as well as your classes in particular." |
