| | Professor Mao-Macdougal's Office
The back of the door you open looks scarred, as if someone has been shooting spells at it. Indeed, now that you look closer, the scratches actually spell out something. Close the Door.
How bizzare...?!
The words suddenly flame a bright liquid yellow, and the door yanks itself out of your frozen grasp and slams itself shut. The women sitting at the desk barely looks up at the bang. She appears to be writing something slowly, and deliberately, and you wait while the quiet, but somehow menacing scritch-scritch of the quill goes on.
Meanwhile, you take the oppurtunity to look around the room. There are a few pictures lying around the place, soft, swirling, bright splashes of color that could mean anything - a tree, a flower, a cloud, but mostly the wall is plastered with bookshelves, and they in turn, are stuffed with books. A few of them look like they are trying to bite, but can only squirm instead, fastened with black leather bands. Most are more docile, and rather decorative, with smooth spines and delicately drawn words on the covers, in all shades of dark colors.
On top of the bookshelves are perched thin, golden shining things, some bear resemblance to astrolabes, others look a little like windchimes. A few hang from the ceiling, and one particular one is hung over with delicate beads - of crystal or plastic, you can't quite tell. Between them, they catch the light of the room and toss it, glint, glitter, glimmer, glisten, gleam, about, creating provocative shadows and sudden bursts of scintillating light.
But professor doesn't look like the sort of woman who would choose things like these. You look back at her, still writing. She's a lounging sort of creature, with very thick, very black hair that has been pulled back into a bun, though thick waves of it fall forward over her ears. Her skin has a yellow tint, or that might be the lighting. The teak desk she is writing on bears a nameplate. The words shine the same way the scratches on the door did. Prof. Andi Mao-Macdougal Zizhen
She has long sweeping eyelashes, perhaps overmascara-ed, that brush her cheeks. When she finally pushes away the paper, and holds the quill between two of her fingers, like she's smoking (you suspect that she was just drawing lines on parchment, to prolong your discomfort) the quick look Professor Mao-Macdougal gives you is like ash falling off a cigarette.
She is definitely Chinese - or half Chinese, with eyes that are tilted upwards. She looks tall, but that's only because she holds herself tall and somehow manages to look down her nose on you when you're a head taller. Over the summer, Professor Mao-Macdougal has successfully kicked the smoking habit, though it has not noticeably sweetened her temper.
She leans forward on the table, her eyebrows barely going up in a minimal show of interest. "Yes?" Professor Mao-Macdougal says, quietly. "May I... help you?"
And there is something in her tone that threatens: this had better be good or nothing in the world is going to help you, except maybe those nice trained Healers at St. Mungo's. |

Andi's eyebrows flew up immediately. "Why exactly would you want to do that?" she enquired, her fingers tapping on the table. "I'm afraid, as a professor, I can't just authorize teaching you that spell without knowing what the consequences will be."

She didn't want to answer the question, anyone else who knew of her familys disfunction found out by themselves. She'd never told a soul about it. But more than secrecy, she wanted help with this spell.
"I need a way to avoid my father. He knows what I look like, so it's quite diffacult to hide from him, even in a crowd. Were I able to alter my appearance, he would find it far more diffacult to find me." She explained quietly.

"I... see," said Andi, suddenly forcibly reminded of Nikolai and his father. Except not so drastic, obviously. There was a strange look in her eyes, maybe of sympathy. Andi rested her chin on hand and studied the girl slowly. "I'm sorry if I'm intruding but why exactly do you want to hide from your father so badly? The charm you want is easy to perform certainly, you'll need much more than that. Do you know there are tracking spells that can even be performed by looking at your fingerprints?"

"Well, yes, but he wouldn't go to such drastic measures to find me." She explained. "My father and I..." She hesitated, trying to find the best words for the subject, or most vague. "...don't get along. My mother has helped me get my school supplies this last summer. I didn't go home, I stayed with a friend. My father found me in Diagon Alley and...punished me for not comming home after the train." She mumbled.

Andi nodded slightly, and looked at Rosalie. Then she sighed, tilting her head to the side. "I should really report this," she said, "to the appropriate authorities. But if I did that, half of Hogwarts would be out of here and in counselling. Including yours truly." Silently, she moved away from her desk and went over to her bookshelf, trailing her fingers down the spines, her lips moving as she read the titles, trying to find what she wanted.
Andi had a fairly accurate memory of where all her books were, quite a feat considering how many there were. "There we go," she murmured, pulling out a slim red volume. "Here. Read this, and return it to me tomorrow at the very latest."

"Thank you very much professor. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate this." She said with excitement, and clutched the book to her chest.
She came to her feet, and smoothed out her skirt with one hand.
"I'll see you tomorrow I suppose." She said, and waved as she fled the office.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Morbidda Lucretia Morwenna Sabine Valencia DeValdemar LeDeaux T'Humperdink. | Hah! Everyone taken care of!
Andi stretched in her chair, suffused with a light glow of contentment. Her hatred of the world was forgotten for a moment as she reached for the plump, glossy, brown mooncake, with the pattern of a lotus on it. You can't hate a world that has cakes like these. If every single student were turned into a mooncake...
...ah, wistful dreams...
She bit into the sweet lotus paste. While most people liked the delicate Beijing pastries, flaky and white and skittish, like the spring moon; Andi preferred the large, bulging kind, strong and filling like moonlight in autumn.

| Samea rolled into the office, ignoring the students gathered. She put her hand to her mouth, making an odd trumpeting noise. "The Headmistress formally requests your presence at a secret staff meeting later today. And when I say requests, I mean she demands you come. Wear shoes." |

And as for your drawings..." A slightly smile ghosted over Andi's lips. "Well, it really was appalling. I could do better myself."
She took another sip of tea, "As for being on better terms, Ms. Ray, I don't understand how we could be on better terms. Do you believe I detest you more than any other student? I don't. You don't mean anything more to me than the rest of them, set your mind at rest. Now, are we finished? Only I have other students waiting." Tia could have sworn, only, she did not for the sake of her house. "You could have done better yourself? Only, I guess, you're too moronic to try," she said in an undertone, keeping her voice as low as possible to make sure that on no account did the Professor hear what she had just said. "Oh, you’re right Professor, it was appalling," she said sweetly. "I believe I had all the effects right," she added even more sweetly. What was Professor Mao-MacDougal expecting her drawing to look like? The Goddess of Beauty holding hands with Apollo? Well, Tia had made what she had seen – It wasn't her fault the Professor had so appalling a countenance. How was she to be blamed for what the Professor looked like?
"I have every reason to believe that you do not detest me more than any other student," Tia said coolly. "And perhaps, I should let it be so. Only, I was hoping we could work on our relationship a bit – Even though I understand fully well that you have absolutely no desire to work on your relationship with any student, with the possible exception of Mr. Lee Andrez," she said fiercely. She lowered her voice as she spoke her next words, "You can take a hundred points from Gryffindor for a spell cast on you by a student, but you can't take as much points from Hufflepuff, despite the fact that Lee did start it all. Why do you believe Lee didn't start it all, in the first place? Maybe Andrei Vanacutt was in Hufflepuff too, that's why." She regretted having said the last few words the moment they escaped her lips.
"I'm ... sorry," she said slowly. "I did not mean that. I only meant that you are ready to let off Lee Andrez so easily, even though he has contributed more than about anyone else in destroying the peace of the last Charms class – not that the class is usually very peaceful – but you took about twenty points from Gryffindor on a stupid drawing? I thought you didn't care about Andrei Vanacutt – or whatever his name is - you made it clear to everyone. Why would you care about an idiotic drawing then, Professor?" She asked quietly. |

Well, Tia had made what she had seen – It wasn't her fault the Professor had so appalling a countenance. How was she to be blamed for what the Professor looked like? Andi raised her eyebrows. The girl seemed most upset about her precious drawing, nevermind everything else. She felt a slightly pity - perhaps art was her only career choice, because lord knows, she showed no talent anywhere else - and not even in art either. "Effects? You were completely out of proportion, the pencil lines are all smudged," Andi sighed, "I'm sorry, but frankly, subject matter aside, your art is appalling. Don't pursue it as a lifetime thing, because it won't pay." She shrugged. Quote: "I have every reason to believe that you do not detest me more than any other student," Tia said coolly. She regretted having said the last few words the moment they escaped her lips. Andi raised her eyebrow and studied the girl. No, there was nothing about her that was remotely familiar, or very special. "Nope," she said, leaning back into her chair and twiddling with her quill. "Can't say that I detest or like you any more than the next person." Her eyes narrowed. "And now what are you suggesting? That I fancy Lee Andrez, the little two-faced idiot? Ms. Ray, Lua Stone took advantage of the chaos caused by Mr. Andrez," Andi's eyes were beginning to glint, "and she blamed it on someone else. What part of that do you not understand? I dragged Mr. Andrez over to the headmistress, and I did not such thing to Ms. Stone. This subject is over. I do not see Ms. Stone coming here to complain." Quote: "I'm ... sorry," she said slowly. "I did not mean that. I thought you didn't care about Andrei Vanacutt – or whatever his name is - you made it clear to everyone. Why would you care about an idiotic drawing then, Professor?" She asked quietly. Her smile was contemptuous, "Get over it. I don't give a dancing damn about what you think about Andrei Vannacutt or anything else." If you can think at all. This is debatable at the moment. "You may ponder all you want over why I took twenty points off for a terrible drawing, if you have nothing better to do. I'm glad you see that your drawing was juvenile and stupid, five points to Gryffindor for realising that. Next time, refrain from tossing it about the class."
Andi shook her head at the stupidity of some of the children and promptly forgot all about it as the poltergeist rolled into her room. Frowning slightly with puzzlement, she got up, her heels clicking against the floor and went out of the room.
OOC: Please note that everyone is now out of the office, and SenoritaMaxie, Tia was supposed to have left earlier, before Rosalie and Tabby.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Cambri Mikaila Hale Fourth Year | The part of Rosalie that conveyed how truely tired she was, was her eyes. They were almost a duller shade of brown than usual, and fixed sleepily on the door in front of herself. In one hand, was cradled the book Professor Mao-Macdougal had given her to read. The other reached up to rap on the door softly.
Yawning, she stepped back, and waited silently for an answer. Indeed it had been a long day. Over the course of it, she still hadn't managed to find shoes, but she was no longer in pajamas, nor was she in her uniform. It contradicted her strict no-uniform-out-of-class policy.
She was wearing a shirt her mother had purchased for her on their trip to Seattle Washington, an oriental style shirt. It had a high colar, and cap sleeves. Each hem of the shirt was lined with silver, on the front was a silver and green design that involved flowers. Her pants were an old pare of black dress pants that had been kept in an admirable state.

The Ravenclaw boy slowly opened the door and looked inside. He wanted pay backs for how mean the professor had been in class. He found her to be rude, crude and unjust. He opened several draws and placed several Dung bombs in each one. He also piled a few on things out is the open. He turned to go. Just before he closed the door he waved his wand and all the bombs went off. Leaving the teacher's office in quite a mess.

OOC: Most unfortunately for you, AMMZ is still in her office. Learn the words. And then read them.
Andi closed her eyes momentarily as an awful smell wafted into her office. Dung bombs, she thought in disgust. Well isn't that highly original... idiots. With a quick flick of her wand, the smell was replaced by that of roses. Another fast swish, because Andi was getting very irritated now, " Incarcerous!" and the perpetrator was lying on the floor, ropes wrapped around him. Maliciously, Andi made sure every inch of him was covered in the tarred, rough, brown rope. Quote:
"hello proffessor, I was just wondering when next class was and that i enjoyed your lessons quite a bit" said Tony
"Thank you," said Andi coolly, looking at him from under her eyelashes. "And I might as well make it clear now, that I do not appreciate people asking me when my classes will be. What will be, will be, que Sara Sara, so on, so forth. Good day to you." Quote: The part of Rosalie that conveyed how truely tired she was, was her eyes. "I hope you found it useful," saind Andi taking the book and moving over to the shelves, slotting it neatly back into place. Oddly enough, once back, the other books seemed to... waver and cover it. The small red book was no longer to be seen. And truly, if one was strong enough to see through the Professor's charms, they would realise that a majority of the books were not, as they seemed, beautifully bound and thick and glossy and unused. Quite a few were yellowing, tattered, with interesting Latin titles and ragged covers. And quite a few would be dangerous if they got into the wrong hands (though, frankly, some might indeed consider Andi's hands as 'the wrong hands'). "Go back to bed now before you collapse on my floor and I have to drag you out and leave you in the halls."

She hoped she didn't look overly amazed when the books around the red book seemed to swallow it. When she was ordered to go to bed Rosalie grinned and nodded her head in agreement.
"Alright, g'night Professor. Thanks for everything." She said, before leaving the office.

Tag walked slowly up to Professor Mao-McDougal's office, stopped, and stared at the doorknob. Maybe she wouldn't be in. He antagonized himself for a few moments. I have to know. . .
He raised his knuckles to the wood, and knocked.

The professor looked up. She was obviously tired. Her hand was resting at her forehead, and her dark eyes, normally sharp and sudden as a switchblade were quiet and deeper looking than usual. A lock of black hair fell across her pale cheek and Andi couldn't be bothered to brush it away. She looked at the girl, without seeing her, as it were. "I'm glad," she said dully. "And dear me, should I have a sign made? The next person who asks me when the next Charms class is going to be will be fed to lions."
A knock sounded on her door. "Come in," said Andi, sighing gustily.

A knock sounded on her door. "Come in," said Andi, sighing gustily. At the professor's sigh, Tag peeked in through the door. It's not too late to run away. . . But seeing her sitting there at the desk, hand resting upon her head, she looked somehow less formidable and more human. She looked almost. . . weary. Tag blinked. It must be my imagination. Imagination or not, it gave Tag a boost of courage, of which he often needed but rarely possessed.
"I have . . . er. . . something to ask you about. Maybe I should ask the Divination teacher, but she wasn't around, and well. . . " It's driving me insane!
When she didn't immediately dismiss him from the room, Tag pulled a chair and scooted up to her desk.
"It's this dream I had last night. . . "

Andi looked at the boy. "Your name isn't Joseph, this isn't Egypt? Very well then, carry on." She leaned on the palm of her hand for support and looked at the young boy from under her eyelashes. "At your age though, let me be the first to tell you that you will have ... dreams. And there's nothing wrong about it. You know? Everyone has dreams."

And there's nothing wrong about it. You know? Everyone has dreams." Tag wasn't quite sure what she was insinuating. He looked up at her suspiciously. Did she mean dreams as in, aspirations? What did she mean by your age?He was pretty sure that none of his friends were having this sort of dream. He could have asked Thump, but he'd been in detention for four days straight.
Tag swallowed and continued. He had come this far.
"I dreamt about . . . you. Not a bad dream," he added quickly. A slight flush was creeping up his neck. She was going to think he was creepy. "It was in Charms class. It was the oddest thing, I never dream about classes." Except when I'm in my underwear, doing sums at the chalkboard. "But the weird thing is how real everything felt. I thought I was actually sitting there talking about charms! I mean, I even got bored while you were talking." Tag realized that last part was too much detail, but it was too late. "Anyways part of me still feels like it happened, and all my friends think I'm nuts to think so. Am I really. . . delusional, professor?" Tag sat back in his chair, watching her face anxiously. If she thought he was insane, she would tell him. But deep down, he was hoping she would tell him that he'd tapped into some alternate universe where his alternate person earned points for an alternate Ravenclaw and spouted witty phrases.
