Andi sighed, sensing she had hurt the girl's feelings. Andi was not an overly-sensitive woman, but she could certainly remember how it felt to be an outcast. Taunts from her childhood, calling her a halfbreed, due to her mixed heritage rang in her ears for half a moment. Andi smiled tightly. She had soon finished off those playground bullies... "I apologize if I have offended you," she said, sipping her tea. "I'm sure you must miss your country very much. I know nothing much about China, though my father told me a little about it. I'm afraid..." she cast an eloquent glance at the queue outside, and Tabby by the door, "...that I have quite a lot to do right now." |
"You haven't." Blossom looked up faking a smile which wasn't very different from a real one, she was used to smiling whenever she felt sad. "Alright, I'll leave you to it." She said taking out her wand and tapping her cup lightly making it disappear. "You can finish the tea and the mooncakes if you wish. I'm sure the a House-Elf will bring it to where it belongs." |
Andi was tempted, she really adored mooncakes and she hadn't had any for the longest time, years in fact. Since her father had gone away. The taste stayed with her, living in her memories the way only taste and smell can, bringing her back years and years to a bright autumn moon and crisp cold air and warm tea making it's way down into the belly. "No, I'm sure I can't," she said, with a little shrug. "They're yours and they're very hard to come by in England, I'm sure. You must have them. Or, I'll tell you what, I'll put these away, and some other time you could come in and we could have the tea, yes? I would like to see what your opinions on Eastern Charms are." |
"I'll leave them here and return in the future." She said and stood up. "I'll look forward to another afternoon of tea and mooncakes." She smile, nodded and walked towards the exit. "Have good afternoon, Professor." With her last words Blossom opened the door and left the room. She felt pleased to have some good quality tea and not some pumpkin juice or butterbeer. |
Andi nodded as the Chinese girl slipped out. She took one mooncake to eat, and then charmed the rest to stay fresh, covering it neatly with the cloth and then putting it away in one of her desk drawers. She looked forward to having something to eat that wasn't potatoes or chicken - that was all these English seemed to eat and their cakes were so sweet and fluffy! If she could just get everything over and done with, then she'd be free for the afternoon. Hopefully. |
As a Chinese girl slipped out of the Professor's office, Tia decided she had waited long enough. She knocked once more – just in case – and then quickly went inside, the door closing gently behind her itself – If you could call that thunderous noise gentle, that is. But it was gentle all the same, Tia thought, given of course that the door was that of Professor Andi Mao-Macdougal's office. "Good afternoon, Professor," she said, somehow managing to keep her voice pretty nice – She wasn't snarling at least – and that was a start, right? "I was wondering if, maybe, we could have a talk – If you're not too busy, that is," she added, eyeing the door and wondering exactly how many students had lined up outside in the few moments she had taken to get inside, and were now awaiting their sentence. There was, for once, nothing forced about her almost pleasant tone. She was almost beginning to like the Professor. Well, almost – But not quite. |

“Professor, isn’t there any way we could be on better terms?” she asked, though there scepticism etched in every word she uttered, as though she absolutely doubted her own question. “For a start, I apologise for that drawing,” she said, trying very hard to sound sorry. “I shouldn’t have drawn it.” She said, still sounding polite – and very forcedly sorry. She wasn’t sure if she had sounded exactly as she ought to have – For one thing, the memory of the drawing involuntarily made her want to smirk – A temptation she resisted right then. |

She took another sip of tea, "As for being on better terms, Ms. Ray, I don't understand how we could be on better terms. Do you believe I detest you more than any other student? I don't. You don't mean anything more to me than the rest of them, set your mind at rest. Now, are we finished? Only I have other students waiting." |
"Professor?" Tabby piped up after looking at the queue outside as Tia exited the room. "I won't bother you for long, I promise." |

Rosalie pushed herself off of the wall when the last student to have arived at the office door before her entered the room. She stared at her toes while they spoke, and waited for the sound of a door opening once more. |

Andi stared at the boy and a slightly smile curved her lips. "Sounds like a girl I could get along with," she said as the door swung shut. "Hm, such a pity she's left." Raising her voice slightly, Andi called, "Next please," as she twisted her quill. |
Hearing the door swing open, Rosalie looked up, and watched her housemate leave the office. She combed her fingers through her hair, and lodged it behind her ears before walking through the door. "Hello Professor." She began uncertainly, her hands fidgeting behind her back as she waited. |
"Good day to you," said Andi, nodding at the girl. The room was still sweet with the scent of tea that Blossom Liu (or Liu Blossom?) had brought in. Andi gestured at the seat, her face impassive and eyes calm. "Now, what is this about?" |

"I was hoping you could help me with something." She announced. "I realize it would probably be most wise to speak with Professor Craft about this, since it is in her area of expertise. But she isn't in her office, and quite frankly, I haven't any idea where else to find her." Rosalie announced. "I just assumed that since you've graduated from school yourself, there is a good chance you at least took advanced Transfiguration classes while you were in school." She watched the Charms professor, biting her lip, and waiting for a reaction. |
Andi raised her eyebrows at Rosalie, feeling a curl of insult that anyone could doubt her intellectual qualities. This lent her voice a grate of irritation as she replied, "Certainly. While Charms was my forte, I was quite capable in my other lessons as well," not that the quality of her education was anyone's business. "Please, get to the point. What is this about?" |

Her gaze had fallen to her lap, her hands were clasped in a white knuckled grip. The moment her words died, she was chewing on her lip. |
