"I get the point," Tia replied stiffly, still not moving. She had no idea herself what she was saying. All she knew was that she wanted to keep on talking. Her face was completely impassive. She should really have left long ago, and she had planned to do so, but she had no idea why she was standing there at all. |
Her eyebrows raised, Andi studied the girl, but couldn't find out what was wrong with her. Quietly, her hand went to her wand. Casting small spells wandlessly was easy, but when it came to large hexes and curses, a good steady wand to channel the magic made it much easier. "Anything else, Ms. Ray?" she said impassively. |
"No," Tia said dreamily. She stood there, watching the Professor, a glazed look in her eyes, which were looking unusally - well - err - huge. "Why ... anything wrong, Professor?" she asked, still dreamily as she began to hum a soft, melodious tune; she turned, still humming, and paused at the door-knob for a second, before leaving the office dreamily, her song floating back in the office, through the open door. |
Andi put away her wand and shrugged. Maybe she ought to go after the girl, but then again... it wasn't really her problem. Kicking back in her chair, Andi pulled out her book and continued reading, frowning every once in a while and jotting down notes. |
When Rosalie knocked on the door of Professor Mao-Macdougal's office, she was still holding a jar half full of ladybugs. She didn't bother knocking, as another girl was just leaving, and the door was left open. "Hello Professor." She greeted the Andi Mao-Macdougal as she poked her head around the door. "Should I knock or may I come in?" She asked. |
"You may just come in," said Andi, nodding at the girl. She slid a bookmark neatly into the volume she was perusing and then steepled her fingers, leaning on the desk. "What's with the ladybugs, Ms. Hale?" |

"I was asked to collect five hundred of them for Professor Craft, for her next lesson. I was innitially going to ask Professor Virohsa to help me, but she refused, so I've been trying to gather them myself, only the weather is making that diffacult." She explained, settling the jar on the ground by her feet. "I'm doing it for house points...." She added, and took a seat in the chair on her side of the desk. |
"For professor Craft, hm?" said Andi with a little twitch around her mouth. "Is this a social call, Ms. Hale? Because at the moment, I'm regrettably indisposed." She gestured at the books. |

"Hummin, smoke and love letters?" Andi's eyes glinted with interest. There was the low whistle of a kettle, and Andi got up, and poured some boiling hot water into a small teacup, and then poured the tea into petite, bowl-like cups. "Tea?" |
"Yes please." She agreed with a smile, and accepted the bowl like cup. "I went to go talk to Professor Virohsa about getting the Ladybugs, but there were several other students there already. I kinda just stood there, and she said that she doesn't trust Professor Lainey. She asked us to spy on Professor Lainey for her, see if anything odd was happening with her." Rosalie said. "On top of that, I had been hearing stuff about Professor Lainey for a while, and was a bit worried. So I went to go talk to her. Me and the Hufflepuff Prefect, Lee, were in there with her when there was this loud whistling sound, and some smoke, then a letter fell onto the floor. It had a red heart on it I think." She said. "Professor Lainey picked it up before I got too good a look at it though." She concluded, and took a sip of her tea. |
"I see," said Andi, lowering her eyes for a moment as she regarded her tea. So she wasn't the only one who suspected Angelica Lainey. Virohsa might be overparanoid sometimes - most of the time - but she probably wasn't mistaken this time around. Of course, Andi only thought that because she herself was suspicious of Lainey. "So, you're keeping an eye on Lainey as well? What did she say about the letter?" |
"I'm watching Lainey, but not for Virohsa. I refuse to report back to that woman." Rosalie explained, then, in refrence to the other question she added. "Very little. She didn't seem to be at all worried about that letter." Rosalie stated bluntly. "Before she left her office, she nearly forgot another letter she recieved by owl while I had first arrived, and looked quite panic-stricken by that." Rosalie added. "I think the first letter seemed more important to her." The looked thoughtful as these words escaped her mouth. |
Andi sipped her tea thoughtfully, letting the amber liquid burn her tongue before swallowing - a childish habit of hers that she never quite outgrew. "Did you see where she went?" |
"To her room I believe." Rosalie responded shortly, cradling her cup of tea in both hands. She breathed in the steam rising from the cup, then took another sip of it. Taking her time swallowing it, she set the cup on the desktop, and leaned back in her chair, simultaneously combing her hair behind one ear. |
Andi gave an involuntary hiss of disappointment. "Damn," she muttered into her tea. She looked up finally, and fixed Rosalie with a look. "Ms. Hale, Professor Virosha believes that Professor Lainey - or one of us professors anyway - is involved with Lord Voldemortist, and what you've told me seems very suspicious so far. Be careful." |
"Yeah," Rosalie agreed, nodding her head. "She told me and the other students that she believed Professor Lainey was either under a spell of Lord Voldemortists, or in love with him." Rosalie admitted, and looked down at her lap. She shivered, feeling nervous at the prospect of all of this. The year before she had known about the riddles and such, but what was happening didn't have this feel of impending doom. She wasn't afraid to walk around alone, afraid of being attacked. Rosalie looked up, biting her bottom lip. "How am I supposed to protect myself?" She asked. "I'm only a second year! Professor Virohsa said to carry your wand, and be ready to defend myself....but I don't know how....I'm best at Transfiguration. I've studied ahead in that class, and no others. Well I read ahead in Charms, but only that classes books. I'm terrible at Defence Against the Dark Arts." She rambled. To say that she looked mildly worried was a severe understatment. |

Jen arrived at Professor Mao-Macdougal's office with Bucky in tow as usual. At this rate the younger girl was starting to become somewhat of an accessory, almost like a walking talking handbag. Running a hand through her now tangled hair, Jen knocked three times. Three was a good number. Not enough to seem too urgent but just enough for someone to know that this wasn't a social call. With a frazzled look at Bucky, she waited for the professor to answer. |
Well, the decision had been made quickly and without much thinking. They would seek Professor AMMZ first. The idea itself wasn't very appealing to Bucky but she didn't have much of a choice. Perhaps if she kept the message down to three sentences she would be safe. Although, letting Jen do all the talking was also reasonable. She was the Prefect after all. Let her deal with the ill tempered woman. |
Andi looked up at the sound of irregular knocking on her door. Tucking her hair behind her ears briskly, and putting a 'don't waste my time' frown on her face, like some people would put on their lipstick. "Come in," she snapped, wondering if this would prove to be a fruitless waste of time - or might provide her an extra piece or two to her puzzle. |
Upon hearing AMMZ voice demanding them to enter, she opened the door and shoved Jen inside making sure to stand at least two steps behind her. The look on her face meant business, as usual and Bucky, always quicker with words decided she would spit out as quick as she could. "The Headmistress wants to see you in the Staff Room," she said quickly, afraid to make eye contact, afraid that she may see Voldemortist himself peeking through them. "It's urgent." Those were the instructions. Professor Rae didn't specify if she had to tell them just what was the urgency or to tell them what they knew. Besides, Bucky figured the more she talked the longer she would have to stay here. |

AMMZ had asked the question she wasn't looking forward to answering. It wasn't like she could ignore it either. She doubted AMMZ would appreciate being ignore by a thirteen year old. Clearing her throat, Bucky gathered her thoughts and nodded. "It's about the recent attacks, Ma'am," she began. "The Gryffindor common room was ransacked, completely destroyed and--and," she thought the msyterious disappearance of her turtle was important but coulnd't quite bring herself to tell AMMZ. Although Rosemary meant a lot to her she didn't think a lot of people would really care about a stupid reptile disappearing but Bucky knew that it was somehow tied to the attacks all over Hogwarts, after all, Jen was there to see her disappear. "And my turtle somehow vanished into thin air," she said glancing at Jen hoping she would confirm what she was saying before AMMZ thought she was making it all up. |
