Jamie had shut the door as instructed and sat down with the Professor, smiling as she pulled out the tea. He liked her tea. But she usually had some really good cookies too. He wiggled in his seat as she brought them out, except a knock on the door arose. He froze. Why did this always seem to happen? |

Rosalie was the last of the small group to trail into the room. She wondered why there was the sudden surge of students heading to talk to this Professor in pirticular, but remained silent. She closed the door behind her, and stood only a few feet inside the door. With a slight smile, she nodded her hello to the professor, and waited for one of the other two girls to speak. |
Professor Virohsa frowned a bit, and decided that the children were too scared to talk. Deciding to talk, she stated, "Well, I suppose you have been noticing the strange happenings in the school?" |
Jamie didn't even glance at the door to see who came in and instead hunched over. His tea! His cookies! He came to talk to her first! And here they were... barging in. He silently tsked the students. Couldn't they tell he needed a break after his long LONG day? |

"Hello Professor, I'm Rosalie Hale, a Slytherin second year." She introduced herself swiftly, deciding to break the silence of the students. "Yeah, that's why I'm here. I've been trying to talk to Professor Lainey, but last time I went to her office there was a large group of Ravenclaws, then she had to go to the Headmistresses office, and left me there before I could even get in the door. "I talked to Professor Mao-Macdougal, but she doesn't know much more than me. I agreed to tell her anything else I see." She pulled the parchment out of her pocket, and slid it across the desk in front of her. Quote:

Jen opened her mouth to state her reason for coming here when Professor Virohsa spoke. Her jaw closed with an audible click and she released the strand of hair she'd been fiddling with. "Well, yes..." she started. This shouldn't be hard. After all, Virohsa wasn't evil. At least her record wasn't. Finally deciding to just say what she was wondering, she asked, "Has Professor Lainey gone crazy?" There. That wasn't so difficult. Now if her heart would just slow down a bit. |
"No thank you," she replied to the Professor. She wasn't suspicious of the Professor she was just cautious, besides, she was lactose intolerant and she was sure the cookies must at least contain some kind of dairy. Bucky nearly spoked to Jamie but he seemed to be attempting to hide inside his own skin so she merely frowned at him and at Professor Virohsa. "There's always strange happenings Professor," she responded. "No offense." What with half of the staff being out of their minds and whatnot. |
Deciding that these children were better off knowing the truth of her suspicions, she spoke. "This article... warns about danger. And danger, you should fear. However, Professor Lainey, I believe, is either under an unforgivable spell or completely in love with Voldemortist", she said slowly. She waited a few seconds for that to proceed. "So, you students are better off making sure she is not divulging information, bringing Voldemortist into the school, hiding him... somewhere in the grounds...", she continued. |
Under an unforgivable spell or in love with Voldemortist? Jen repeated to herself. Once again she opened her mouth to reply but no words came. There were several questions running through her mind but she was unable to voice any of them. On the bright side, at least Virohsa hadn't given them a detention. |

"Well with much do respect Professor, how am I supposed to defend myself?" She asked. "I'm only a second year. I can hardly brew a potion let alone defend myself against dark wizards." Rosalie sounded genuinely worried. Once more a prophet article floated in the back of her mind...Hogwarts...students dead....Dark Lord. Unwillingly, she shivered. |
Celestina blanched, so, just why had she followed Jen here? Now here she was being told something perhaps she was better off not knowing. She knew Professor Lainey wasn't all there but everyone had a bit of lunacy in them. Bucky didn't think she was in love with Voldemortist. She shuddered thinking about this. The idea that she was under some kind of spell seemed more likely, or perhaps this was just a way Bucky could comfort herself. "Hiding him in the grounds?" Celestina repeated, her green eyes growing wide. "Professor Lainey wouldn't do that," she finished in a croak. However, out of everyone she would be the first to admit that perhaps Lainey was insane and who was she to argue with Professor Virohsa. "What should we do then, Professor? It's not like we can stop her. After all, we're just students." |
Professor Virohsa eyed the closed door, glad that her room always had an impertuvatus spell (which means other people outside can't hear us). "I understand your concern, however, I believe you may be just what we need..... Eyes and ears...", she replied. "The key to protecting the school is not in confronting a mad woman in love. It is on following her around without her knowing that we are listening intently. We don't want her to know that we know...That way, we can figure out where she is hiding him and act appropriately", she explained. She didn't want to mention the fact that Lainey seemed to want the Book of Mysteria to Voldemortist... "I believe you are better protected by knowing the dangers that await all of you, so keep your eyes and ears open... I am personally going to follow Lainey around to make sure she is not consorting with the enemy within school grounds", she stated briskly. "If you do notice anything... send me an OWL with the key word: Belladona studs are in season. That way, if it is intercepted, no one will know", she added. |
Jen was finding this news a little hard to swallow. It was one thing to have suspicions but to hear them actually voiced and given weight was another thing entirely. She couldn't help but regret that she had decided to involve Bucky in this as well. And Jamie was now aware of her suspicions. And, as if that wasn't bad enough a second year Slytherin that Jen didn't know at all. If anything happened to any of them then it would be her fault. That was not something Jen wanted on her conscience but she wasn't willing to pretend this conversation hadn't happened either. "So what exactly is it you want us to do Professor? Kee an eye on Professor Lainey?" she asked, meeting Virohsa's gaze. Her earlier shock seemed to have worn off and now she was determined to see this thing through. |
Jamie shook his head. "No," he said quietly. "She... she can't be. 'Cos... cos she was an Auror..." he finished quietly. "Why would she be in love with him? He's killed lots of students. And... and.... he almost messed up her transformation from ghost to human... she could have died cos of him. How can she be in love with him? He's evil and only wants to kill people!" As he spoke his voice rose continually, until it was nearly shaking with a fear. The idea of her letting Voldemortist in... no... He trust Virosha. Ashlie had trusted her. She usually had good judgement. But how could she be right about this? Julia would have told him. |
She cast a glance at Jamie and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Perhaps she isn't in love and just under a spell," she said nodding at Professor Virohsa while speaking to Jamie. She didn't know whether to believe Professor Virohsa entirely but things of the sort had happened before at Hogwarts and what harm could come from being extra cautious? Bucky would keep an eye on Lainey just as a safety precaution. If Lainey indeed was insane or in love then they would know ahead and alert Professor Virohsa who would surely do something about it and if she wasn't, and they were all wrong then no harm done, eh? "However, I think all the same, if Professor Virohsa is wrong or not, we should keep an eye on Lainey. It doesn't hurt to be cautious." |
Professor Virohsa looked at the children with a bit more patience. "Try to take a deep breath, being upset about it won't help the situation. You need to have a cool mind about this", she explained. "For now, we must keep a closer eye on her.. Don't let her walk around by herself at Hogsmeade or in the grounds... I better be proven wrong than right, and so far the situation seems to warrant our cool heads", she added. "Come, have some tea and cookies. It will help you feel warmer inside", she offered. "Just remember, you cannot talk to other students about this... some of them may be being used by Voldemortist to divert attraction. After all, Voldemortist acts in strange ways...", she explained. |

Stepping forward, she picked up a cookie and took a bite of it. Moving to take another, recolection dawned in her eyes. "I nearly forgot Professor. I was supposed to talk to you. Professor Craft sent me. The Transfiguration Professor Craft." She clarified. "I was supposed to talk to you about getting five hundred ladybugs...she said you should know about it." Rosalie told her, shifting her bookbag from one arm to the other, careful not to damage her cookie. "It's for her next lesson." She explained further. |
Professor Virohsa nodded and smirked. This was the perfect opportunity to teach Ganymede the rule of protecting the lady bugs. "Yes, I will talk to her. You may leave now, I assume you have things to do. Jamie, I want to talk to you so can you stay for a while?", she asked. |
Jamie slumped under Bucky's hand and felt something miserable wash over him. Virosha had to be assuming wrong. She just had to be. Why would Lainey walk into her death like that? Maybe it was a spell. Maybe Voldemortist did something to her, put her under some kind of spell or something. He nodded at Professor Virosha when she requested he stay behind. "I can," he said, reaching nervously for the cup of tea she'd poured for him. |
Lua arrived again at Professor virohsa's office hoping this time she won't send her away for another meeting of somesort nor samea interrupting for another unpresidented meeting. Knocking on the door twice, she waited patiently. |
Bucky wasn't in the mood for cookies nor tea. It was a good idea not to tell any more students that already knew. If Voldemortist had managed to use a spell on a Professor who knew what he had managed to do with a student or more than one student. He could possibly be forming his own little army and nobody would know the better of it. An army already inside the school. Her first instinct was to remain with Jamie but she didn't want to intrude more than she had already, giving Jamie a sympathetic look she nodded at Jen, hoping to discuss things with her further. She was, after all, her Prefect, surely she would know how to handle this whole situation. "I'll talk to you later," she whispered to Jamie and walked out the door, bumping into Lua on her way out. Seeing Lua of all students at a Professor's office on her own accord was somewhat difficult to accept for Bucky. Lua wasn't exactly what you would call a model student. Not a bad person but just a little on the wild side. "I think Virohsa is busy," she whispered. "But you can try your luck." |

"I was supposed to get the five hundred lady bugs..." She informed Professor Virohsa. When she thought of hunting the grounds for five hundred lady bugs, she shivered. |
Jen nodded and filed away Professor Virohsa's instructions in her head. The idea that Voldemortist may have had something to do with Lainey's odd behavior as of late was not a comforting one. From now on she would be keeping a close eye on the professor. "Thank you for your time Professor," she said before turning to leave. As she was closing the door, she saw Lua waiting. What Lua was doing here, Jen was fairly certain she didn't want to know. She acknowledged the girl's presence with a small nod before continuing on her way. Later she would have to find Bucky and discuss this further. |
Rave ran up to Lua and slid to a stop next to her. "Hey sis. What are you doing here?" she asked out of breath. Rave had been bored and when she spotted her favorite sister, descided to see what she was up to. |
