Cassandra looked at the Gryffindor perplexed. Who would want to try to taste their potion while brewing? She thought.

She recognized the girl... she was the witch that had lost Gryffindor 100 points in charms... This is going to get interesting, she thought.

Alicia copied down notes carefully and quickly, summarising the important bits. She raised her hand "A potion uses Wizard tools, materials and ingredients while Muggle chemisty just uses plain science" she guessed.

eliza looked at the girl ,if she wanted to posion herself by tasting the potion eliza wouldn't care. eliza looked at the professor.

Professor Branxton nodded at the various answers. "Yes, yes, very good. Now, are there any questions before we move on? Please speak up if we move too swiftly but, as we cover this every term and you should have read all of this information prior to coming to class, I'd like to move past introduction and safety to more practical matters."

Alyssa wrote down her notes and looked back at the professor.

Prancie didn't have any questions, so she waited. She was looking foreward to this lesson

Jackie sat up straighter in her seat. She was definitly ready to move on to more practical things.

Jewil wrote down everything, and waited for the prof to go on. She looked around to see if anyone had there hand up then turnded back to the prof with a smile.

Cassandra was very excited! She dove into her bag and pulled out quill and parchment, and waited.

Sean said, "No questions here." and was ready to move on.

Emily smiled and shook her head making sure she didnt have any questions.'Nope none' she thought as she realized she didnt have questions.

Davina looked at the Professor eager for him to move on.

Nicole wrote all of this down, and turned to look back up to the proffesor. She understood the basics and rules.

Lauren shook her head absentmindedly at Professor Branxton's request for all questions, but the truth was, sitting in her chair, her elbows resting heavily on the desk in front of her, hand slightly tangled in her hair from twirling her long, brown locks (nervous habit!), Lauren was positively bubbling over with questions. Her head was swimming with everything she had left to learn in this new subject - sure, she knew what a potion was and she had done her required reading, but what were all the ingredients? How do you know which cauldrons are best? What tools are to be used? Where do you find these "instructions" that everyone referenced? It isn't as if potion-making was like baking cookies - there wasn't a box full of pre-mixed ingredients with 5 Simple Steps on the back. This was going to take a lot of sweat and trial, and Lauren was a little nervous about that.

She topped off her notes, making sure to write down everything her classmates and professor had said, and layed her quill down next to her parchment, waiting anxiously for what was to happen next.

Stacey shook her head in that she had no questions so for for Professor Braxton. She awaited to see what next was going to happen. Potions was always a fun class for her in the past and at this point, she was enjoying herself tramendously.

"Very well, then we will jump right into our first lesson, then," he said nodding to the class and flicking his wand at he board so it now read 'Magical Cleaning Solutions'. "Please feel free to raise your hand and ask questions at any time or speak wiht me after class, if you prefer. Today we will be discussing Magical Clenaing Solutions. Can anyone name any of these useful solutions?"

Becky raised her hand..."Would doxycide be one? it is kind of a cleaning solution"

Katie looked up from her notes. She vaugely remembered her mother saying something about cleaning solution........but she couldn't remember.

Stacey raised her hand and knew one of the answers thanks to helping her mother clean around the house. "Doxycide is one Professor," she said with a smile and then began to think of more.

Lua tuned in intently to the first lesson. Raising her hand she answered "There is Mrs. Scower's Magical Mess Remover"

Lauren bit her lip, inching her arm farther and farther into the air. "I know of two. Mrs. Scower's Magical Mess Remover - we used to use that at home - and diluted Bundimun secretion. I'm pretty sure the latter isn't an actual cleaning solution, per se, but I know it's used as an ingredient in many of those solutions." She sighed. That hadn't been too bad.

Stacey remembered another one and raised her hand. "Professor Braxton there is also Bundimun secretion," she began and then continued. "And when diluted it can be used as an ingredient of certain magical cleaning fluids."

"Some people also use dragon's blood to clean ovens" lua added as she blinked at a hufflepuff girl seated next to her, she was the same girl from the library.

Jewil wrote down what everyone was saying, but dident speak. Growing up in a muggle home Jewil dident know much about the magic world. Everything she learnd had been in a text book and she couldent recall eny besides Mrs. Scower's Magical Mess Remover.
