"You're welcome," Hermy replied, keeping a watchful eye on the dog. Picking up her notes, she started to sketch the creature, using long loose strokes to show the hair. As she drew, se watched Julia taking the pictures and Hermy was glad to have passed the camera on. Besides, Julia looked like she was having so much fun.

Chiyo nodded. "Mmm..." she looked at the fish. They were pretty, but rather boring. She sat in her seat and copied notes and drew pictures of the animals.

ooc: got to go...Chiyo'll just be watching. I'll be back in a hour...got to clean my room

Patrick took the camera from Bucky "Thanks". then he moved in closer to the dog. It would be a difficult shot because the dog was moving so much. He set up ready for the moment it stood still. It did and he pressed the shutter. he took a couple more shots and moved on to the fish that Chiyo was looking at.

Alicia nodded, while she took some notes in her notebook. Then she looked up at Professor Light, and took the camera that was sitting on her desk quizzicly. She then found the big button at the top of it, as instruction and looked through the lens, trying to find where it was, she found it, looked through it at the fish, and pressed the button.
"Phew, lucky the flash was off!" she said.

"O plenty. Some dogs are trained to help people with disablities, dogs keep people company, and with that company comes safety. Dogs are known as loyal pets because they will bark and try to scare away someone who may try to harm their owner. " Professor Light paused. "Some people just like dogs in the same way you might just enjoy a pet that didn't really have much actual use other than a friend."

"So they just buy them for company" Alicia answered.

He took some more shots of the fish and checked the meter. 16.

Professor Light noticed the students had slowed in their picture taking and felt it would soon be time to take out the next animal. "Let me know when you have finished up... the fish will obviously stay out, but I should probably put our little cocker spaniel friend back in his cage for now."

Celestina was surprised to see that the creature she wasn't very fond off indeed had another purpose other than drooling and looking absolutely far too energetic for its own good. Taking the chance that Patrick was busy taking pictures she wrote down everything that had caught her interest, from the fact that it apparently pants (and drools) because it cannot sweat to cool down to the fact that it's just hairy because it's supposed to be that way and the multiple careers a dog can have outside of the show business.

Looking up at the fish, she smiled. Sure, they didn't do much but swim around but they looked peaceful and completely unaware of the world outside of their tank. Making a few horribly done sketches of the fish in a corner of her paper, Bucky nodded agreeing to the meeting wordlessly.

She would tell Serena everything she knew. After all, Serena used to be the Prefect. Surely, she could be trusted as well. It made her sad though that she was unable to count on Jamie. Wonder where that boy is?

Again, Professor Light spoke and Bucky nodded eagerly. "Yes, put him away!" She exclaimed, perhaps a little too excited.

Amy watched the professor return the dog to its cage. She figured she knew what animal would be next, but was not completely sure.

Patrick stood by and watched until Professor Light brought out the next animal.

Professor Light carefully led the dog back to it's cage, and at the same time pulled out one more animal. It was a large silver cage with a tiny light blue bird in it. It tweeted cheerfully and hopped from one perch to another.

"So... any guesses what type of bird this is? I love the color on it's stomach, don't you?"

Amy raised her hand, "Is it a Parakeet?"

Alicia looked at the bird and raised her hand. "A budgerigar?" she guessed.

"Both good guesses! This is a parakeet, however parakeets are closely related to budgerigars so you are correct in a sense as well. This bird is very friendly, and has had her wings clipped so she can't fly away. She can only make short flights." She looked around the room, seeing most of her students ready with their cameras.

"Birds are probably least common of the pets I've shown you so far. Although most of them make very good pets, some of them are known to live very long... some parrots even live 80 years if they are cared for well enough."

Professor Light pulled the bird out of it's cage and let it sit on her finger. It tried to fly away but only landed back in the cage. Sighing, Professor Light closed the cage and motion to the studnets to get started. "Alright, I'll give you a chance to catch up on all these photos. Get some nice ones of the bird and fish."

Alicia nodded,. "Close
" she thought to herself. She plopped up near the bird cage with her camera, turned the flash off, and took a few pictures of the beautiful creature.

Amy took the camera and started to take a couple pictures, but then realized she ran out of film after the second picture. She then laid down the camera and looked at the bird.

Chiyo looked at the parakeet fondly. She had had a few of them when she was still at home as well. She began to draw that one as well.

Serena studied the bird for a few moments, admiring its colors. When Chiyo bent her head down to begin drawing the bird and other students began taking pictures, Serena felt as though she should give the camera a try. After all, one never gained anything from being afraid to try new things. It all seemed rather simplistic when she had watched her other housemates.

Reaching forward, she slid the camera off of Patrick's desk, giving him a quick smile as she looked at the meter. Noticing that there were still plenty of pictures left, Serena made certain that the camera wheel was all the way to the right, then raised it so that she could look through the small window. Trying her best to focus on the bird, she took a few snapshots, each from different angles, remembering to turn the wheel each time.

When she finished, she set the camera back down, writing additional notes on the bird's appearance. The camera was rather an interesting tool, but she thought that she had enough of taking pictures for the day. She hoped that the pictures would develop properly.

Celestina admired the bird from afar. It was definitely a beautiful animal, with it's bright feathers and pretty chirping noises. Jotting down a few details of its physical characteristics, Bucky rubbed her nose with the erases of her number two pencil.

"See," she said to Serena after she took her photo. "These are sensible pets. Birds and fish. They don't run around wrecking things and drooling.Plus you get your money's worth. Well, with the bird. I don't believe fish live that long."

Patrick watched Serena take pictures of the parakeet.

Professor Light brought out the last cage. "Alright guys, this is the last animal. She is very friendly and loves to be petted, however I need you guys to keep the bird in the cage while she is out of hers."

Professor Light opened the cage and reached in. The cat did not want to come out, "Come on, kitty...come on..." finally, she gave up and just pulled the cat out. The cat shot across the room and hid under her desk.

"Um, well, as I'm sure everyone can tell, that was a normal cat. She is very friendly, but also very shy apparently. Cats are one of the pets that Muggles and Wizards have in common greatly. Both groups have them for different reasons, but cats are pretty much the same whether you pair them with a wizard or a muggle."

"In fact, in Muggle stories, witches often own a black cat. Black cats are supossedly black luck if one crosses your path, according to Muggle supersition. Now not everyone believes this, of course, but it's likely it evolved from the fact that many witches let their cats out of the house and if those cats ran into humans and the witch did magic in front of a Muggle, a bad thing would occur." Professor Light loved this story, because it really took an old superstition and made it make...well... sense. The divination teacher would hate her.

"Alright everyone, you may take your photos... er... if you can, of the cat, and then you may be on your way. I'll post the homework outside the door, on the board as always."

Serena nodded in response to Bucky's comment. "I suppose you're right, but I do love dogs. Personally, I think they make really good pets, though sometimes they're more trouble than they're worth."

Watching as Professor Light opened the last cage and attempted to coax the cat from its place, Serena made a few additional general notes on the animals and the workings of the Muggle camera. As the cat ran from one place to the next, she couldn't help but smile in amusement. It apparently was very shy. Now the dilemma would be to form a plan of action to be successful in taking the pictures. Glancing over toward Bucky, she nudged her. "You up for taking the pictures of the cat? You always seem to be carrying around a camera. If anyone can get a good picture, it would be you."

Listening intently as Professor Light continued to speak about the tale of black cats and bad luck, Serena nodded in understanding. The way that the professor explained it made complete sense.

Phoebe nodded and waited for the hufflepuff with the camera to take it. Phoebe wasn't too fond of cats so didn't get too close. She took notes however even though she knew pretty well, what a cat looked like.

Alicia nodded at the professor. She just adored cats, they were her favourite animals. She was out of film, so she just looked at the gorgeous critter, and kneeled "Kitty, Cit cat" she smiled. She walked back to her desk, and took a few notes, then lef tthe classroom after packing up her belongings.
