fr2nc1z 08-26-2006 05:57 PM

Professor Virohsa opened the classroom and sat down on her chair. She opened up a copy of Herbology Today, as she waited for the students to pour in.

daniel_radcliffe_fan_4eva 08-26-2006 06:00 PM

lizzy noticed that she was the first one in the classroom. she smiled at the professor and took her seat.

MusicalChick 08-26-2006 06:08 PM

Jen took a seat up front. "Hi professor, how are you today?" she asked.

fr2nc1z 08-26-2006 06:11 PM

Professor Virohsa nodded as she placed her paper down, "Good, and you?", she asked the well-behaved student.

aiangel327 08-26-2006 06:12 PM

Jen entered the classroom, her bag slung over her shoulder. Making her way to the front of the room, she chose a seat and desposited her bag on the floor before sitting down. "Hello Professor," she said with a nod.

BrightestWitch 08-26-2006 06:14 PM

Jordana entered class and smiled at Professor Virosha. She made her way to the back of the class and found an empty seat. Setting her bag gently on the floor, she sat down and extracted her book, notebook and quill from her bag.

Placing them neatly on her desk, she looked up at the Professor and waited for the lesson to begin.

"I'm good," said Jenna with a smile.

whende 08-26-2006 06:29 PM

Whende skipped into class. Her bag swung from her shoulder as she made her way toward a seat. Then sat down and dropped her back to the ground. She hummed as she waited for class to begin and allowed her feet to swing back and forth, lightly brushing the floor.

daniel_radcliffe_fan_4eva 08-26-2006 06:33 PM

as lizzy waited for class to start, she watched the room fill up quickly with students. lizzy found it odd that the only house that did not have a student present was slytherin, not that it meant anything of course, yet lizzy had a habit of picking up on little details such as this.

i m a potter fool ^_^ 08-26-2006 06:54 PM

Prancie walked into the class and sat down

LeapFrog 08-26-2006 06:57 PM

Rose strolled into the class and settled down. She reached into her bag and found a pencil. Weird, she thought. I haven't used one of these in ages! Everything here was written strictly with a quill. She decided she needed a change of pace and kept the pencil out, tapping it nervously on the table.

Golden Monkey 08-26-2006 07:08 PM

Ariana walked into the classroom, feeling absolutly happy about being here. She smiled warmy at Professor Virohsa and said "Hello Professor!" before moving to an empty seat and getting out her school books.

the.time.is.now 08-26-2006 07:31 PM

Caitlin set down her bookbag and smiled at the broad variety of students that filled the classroom. She pulled out an apple, took a bite of it, and waited excitedly for the lesson to begin.

Austin 08-26-2006 07:43 PM

Brookelyn walked into the room excitedly and looked around for a seat. There were many open seats so she went over to one near the front of the room. Setting her bag down she pulled out a quill and some parchment.

HOSAgirl 08-26-2006 07:57 PM

Kelli walked in to the classroom and looked around for an empty seat. She took one near the front and got out some parchment and a quill, waiting until class started.

MusicalChick 08-26-2006 07:59 PM

Jenna started to draw...she was getting bored while waiting.

hermygirl 08-26-2006 08:02 PM

Hermy entered the classroom and smiled at the Professor. She made her way to the back of the class, taking a seat just in front of Jordana. She let her bag drop off her shoulder, and she started to unpack her quill, ink and parchment. After setting them neatly on the desk, she looked around the room, wondering what they were going to study today.

Nightingale 08-26-2006 08:29 PM

Kay stepped into the classroom and looked around tenetavely. She smiled at the proffesor and took an empty seat near the center of the classroom. Thumbing through her Herbology textbook, she let her mind wander until the beginning of class.

GreenDayGirl9293 08-26-2006 08:50 PM

Nicole walked into the classroom, and found an empty seat in the middle of the room. She sat down, and waited for class to begin.

Nightingale 08-26-2006 08:52 PM

Kay glanced up as a Gryffindor girl took the seat next to her, then turned back to her book.

fr2nc1z 08-26-2006 09:24 PM

Professor Virohsa looked around. "Good, we can start now", she started. "As you may know, some plants may be safe but some are not. Today we will discuss the plants that are not safe. Any ideas how a plant can be dangerous?", she asked the class.

hermygirl 08-26-2006 09:32 PM

Hermy raised her hand. "Some plants can be poisonous to touch or eat. Others such as he Venus fly trap can catch prey, and the whomping willow, well, hits its victims." She paused, hoping that she had remembered everything correctly.

daniel_radcliffe_fan_4eva 08-26-2006 09:37 PM

lizzy raised her hand, "some plants produce a harmful substance that can damage the skin such as bubator(sp?) puss. some plants have more serious side effects, such as the mandrake who's cry can kill"

MusicalChick 08-26-2006 10:01 PM

Jenna raised her hand. "What about poison ivy, oak, and sumac? They're not all dangerous, really, but they can make you very itchy," said Jenna. Oh, come on--itching?! That wasn't dangerous at all. Did she actually say that out loud?

"And the Mandrake," she continued, suddenly thinking of it. "Its cry is fatal to any who hear it." She was having trouble thinking...why can't I concentrate? she thought.

fr2nc1z 08-26-2006 10:02 PM

Professor Virohsa nodded. "Very good! 4 pts for ravenclaw and 4 pts for Gryffindor. Any other ideas of dangerous qualities?", she asked the class.

Little Trooper 08-26-2006 10:05 PM

"how about the oders plants produce some could have harmful ones" amy said but after she had said it it sounded dumb

halfbloodsrule 08-26-2006 10:09 PM

"what about things like fly traps that bite you?" kassie said raising her hand.

i m a potter fool ^_^ 08-26-2006 10:13 PM

Prancie raised her hand, "I have seen plants that give a very sweet scent to lure you to come closer, then infect you when you get to close."

fr2nc1z 08-26-2006 10:18 PM

Professor Virohsa frowned. "Odors? Fly traps?", she said confused. She wasn't sure what they meant. She then looked at Prancie.. "Well, infect like how?", she said getting impatient. It seemed that some of the students were just repeating information.

lizzy was glad she had earned points for gryffindor, they desperately needed them. she considered the professor for a moment then said, "professor, as well as harming you physically, are they any plants that harm you mentally, either by some sort of aroma or a substance they produce?"

halfbloodsrule 08-26-2006 10:22 PM

"what about plants like roses that poke you?'' kassie said trying again

Prancie was happy that the professor seemed to be interested in her answer, "Well, professor, I can think of very pretty plants that are very poisenus. Hemlock forexample has flowers that are nice, but if the leaves are ingested, it is potentionally leathel."

Mafia Leader B 08-26-2006 10:30 PM

"Some magical plants like the Whomping Willow are dangerous, ones that can effect you physically." Rosalie pointed out.

Jenna heard the girl named Rosalie point out the Whomping Willow. Why didn't I think of that? she thought.

i m a potter fool ^_^ 08-26-2006 10:35 PM

Prancie added to her answer, "I guess what I'm trying to say is that you can't judge a plant by it's exterior"

Mafia Leader B 08-26-2006 10:38 PM

"Further more, as they have said, there are poisonous plants can effect you fatally. The mandrake’s cry can kill you. But if a plant can kill you, and a plant can do more than that. It can do many other things. Could magical plants possible cause you to go to sleep, act oddly, cause feelings of love or another such feeling?” Rosalie added after a moment.

"Well, itching is not dangerous... But the cry of a Mandrake is. So 2 pts", she added.

"Ah yes, mentally. We will see at a later point how some plants can cause you to enter into a coma", she added. "2 pts"

"That is not particularly dangerous... unless it is poisoned, and we already covered poison", she explained

"Well, that is definitely something that we all want to keep in mind with plants. Most plants don't carry a sign that says dangerous", she explained. "Good insight, 2 pts"

"Ah that is very true! Some plants will cause you bodily injury by grabbing you and inflicting harm. 2 pts", she said.

"Very good! 2 pts! And this is definitely something that we will all focus on during the final exam", she explained slowly.

-----------
"Ok, to continue with our lesson, we shall focus on bodily harm. Some of you have mentioned the whomping willow", she added. "Has anyone ever seen this tree? I expect some of you have already made the trip to look at this famous tree", she explained.

"Regardless of whether you have seen it, the next question centers around what makes a plant dangerous when they are known to inflict bodily harm", she asked the class.

WhizzyBubbles 08-26-2006 11:01 PM

Alicia took notes, and then raised her hand "They are poisonous, or an angry plant?" she guessed.

Mafia Leader B 08-26-2006 11:02 PM

Beaming at having earned four points, Rosalie started jotting down notes on her parchment.

Dangerous Plant Qualities
  • Poisonous (eat/touch)
  • Violent
  • Magical quality's (effect emotions or otherwise)
  • Fatal noise (mandrake)

Listening to further questions, she started doodling on the edge of her paper. She started with an intricate design down one boarder of the paper. Lines twisted around one another, some spots looking like an ancient, forgotten language.

Along the top, she wrote her name, followed by Herbology notes: Survival of the Fittest. Each of the letters were in a fancy script involving flourishes, and small doodles of flowers, butterflies, and stars.

When another question was asked, Rosalie dropped her quill and looked up.

"A plant that is violent, such as the Whomping Willow, would be dangerous because of it's size, and density. If a Rose bush started to hit you, it would hurt certainly, but it couldn't break bones like the Willow could." Rosalie answered. "Other bushes could be dangerous if they could wrap vines around you and trap you." She answered.

WhizzyBubbles 08-26-2006 11:19 PM

Alicia looked at Rosalie, and started writing down some dot points, of plants she could think of, and why they were dangerous. She raised her hand and said "Devils Snare, because of it's size, and thickness, and it's fast moving, writhing 'arms'" as she called it. "Only if you wriggle, and strain in the plant, it will trap you tighter, but if you relax, it'll release you." she said.

futuremrsmalfoy 08-26-2006 11:22 PM

Kally took notes an the dangerous plants. And thought about the final exams.

halfbloodsrule 08-26-2006 11:24 PM

kassie raised her hand and said, "the whomping willow is only dangerous if you are dumb or unlucky enough to go to near."

Professor Virohsa listened attentively. "Well, that is certainly something that we all have to keep in mind when dealing with dangerous. They all have emotions and can get extremely angry! 2 pts for your insight."

"And this brings an important point that we will discuss in today's class. Learning what to do to be safe", she added. "2 pts for that insight"

"Dumb or unlucky has nothing to do with it... Since as Alicia pointed out, all you need is knowledge to be able to get around it.

"Very well, we can proceed with today's plant. Some of you will have been aware of this plant. I suggest you all stay away from it. We will be taking a trip to the Greenhouse. So make sure to bring the following with you: Quill, Parchment, Wand, Gloves, and Eye Masks", she explained. "When you are ready, come to the front and wait until everyone is ready", she added.

halfbloodsrule 08-26-2006 11:44 PM

kassie gathered her stuff and followed the teacher.

i m a potter fool ^_^ 08-26-2006 11:47 PM

Prancie gathered her bag and followed the professor

WhizzyBubbles 08-26-2006 11:59 PM

Alicia gathered all her belongings, including the following the Professor had mentioned, and walked upto the professor, waiting. She felt proud of earning 4 points to Hufflepuff.

fr2nc1z 08-27-2006 12:00 AM

Professor Virohsa waited for a while, and headed off towards the Greenhouse.

blackPheonix2212 08-27-2006 12:43 AM

Emma listened to the professor and did exactly what she was told.

MusicalChick 08-27-2006 12:46 AM

Jenna did as she was told.

Freya 08-27-2006 01:00 AM

Touy was sure this would be an intresting but dangous class. She got out of her bag Quill, parchment, her wand and eye goggles. Waiting till the class was ready and then went into the greenhouse.

LeapFrog 08-27-2006 01:08 AM

Rose was a bit startled over the topic. Dangerous things always ended up impacting her negatively. Reluctantly she grabbed her things and followed the Professor out of the room.

Nightingale 08-27-2006 02:21 AM

Kay followed the group to the Greenhouse, gripping her eyemask and gloves in one hand, and her parchement and quill in the other.

Austin 08-27-2006 03:41 AM

Brookelyn gathered the things asked of her to bring and got out of her seat. Looking back at her desk to make sure she didn't forget anything she followed the class out of the room and into the Green house.

FLEUR 08-27-2006 11:25 AM

After katie took some notes down she packed everything up and followed the group into the green house.
