AJ looked at her, thinking, "That's reduco, isn't it? no, diffindo! one of those.... i can't remember correctly. but i'm not going to give any suggestions to Lainey yet... not until i remember.... what do you think would work?" she asked.

"We're ready, aren't we?" Turquoise asked her group and turned to face the professor, sending waves sloshing about.

"Well, professor, we're ready. Our group - that is to say, Patrick, Michael, Prancie and I - we thought up some possibilities.

We kind of came to the conclusion that we should use either transfiguration or charms. Transfiguration could be used by either transfiguring yourself or the rock or tree: a rock could be turned into something small and light, say a caterpillar and you could get out from under it easily, and tree could be transfigured into a reed. You could also transfigure yourself, say into a mole, so you could dig yourself out.

Then Patrick reminded that we should think about charms as well, and he suggested wingardium leviosa, to levitate the rock off. And as for the tree--" Turquoise gathered herself, she was rather proud of this answer; "-- you could set it alight, and then cast a Flame-freezing charm on yourself and watch the tree burn to cinders around you while you don't feel a thing."

Slightly out of breath for blabbering so much, she turned to her group and realised she should have probably left something for them to say. She often got quite carried away talking about a subject she liked.

"So uh, do you guys have anything to add?" she asked hopefully.

"yes thats good, should we tell the proffessor now or wait a bit more?" katie told her group while playing with the water.

"OK then, we'll start, I think that first group is finished?" Alicia asked.
She stepped up and looked at the Professor. "After some decision, we brainstormed that using Transfiguration, aswlel as charms is a very good way to get yoursefl out of this scenario. You could transfigure the rock, into, say a plant, or an animal, so you could get out easier. using a charm, you could blow up your sleeves like a balloon so you'd 'float' out." she said, taking a deep breath before continuing.

"You could also burrow a hole if youre under a rock, and as for the tree, you could accio a Hatchet, or an axe, and it would be going smash into the tree. You could grab it, and then start chopping a side of the tree off." she said. She blushed as she realised none of her friends had time to speak. "Thats it?".

Lainey wrote down all of their answers. "Turquoise, you and your group - excellent. I think that if you have those skills, the transfiguring and the charms, you'd easily be able to free yourself." Lainey narrowed her eyes at the small group. Smart cookies. "There might be a job or two at the ministry for smart thinkers like you. 20 points to each of your Houses for your work."

Lainey listened intently as the second group presented their work. Again, what a brilliant group of children. "The summoning charm is an excellent one. You'd have to be practiced on it though. So, just in case you lot ever catch yourself in that sort of predictament - you all should be practicing." Though, to be perfectly honest, she wasn't sure if the insane Charms professor was teaching them useful charms such as the Summoning one. She was crazy. "Twenty points to each of your Houses as well. Excellent!"

"Are there any more groups that wish to share their theories? If not, I'll assign homework and we can all get out before we start to wrinkle." Lainey grinned at the group, and made note of all the points she owed.

Patrick smiled at Turquoise again as Proffesor Lainey gave them a huge twenty points. "That was a great idea the fire stuff," he said.

AJ couldn't lose her chance now, she looked at Tasha and shrugged, "well here goes nothing," she said.

she raised her hand and began to speak, "Well, if you had a giganto rock," she giggled, "on top of you and needed to get it off, the spell that shreds things, diffindo is it?" she thought, biting her lip and wiggling her mouth around awkwardly and looking to the ceiling, "yes Diffindo, it would cut the rock into peices, it would break the rock down so it's just pebbles on top of you, then just stand up and brush yourself off. or reducto it, Reducto blasts a solid object out of the way, which may be a bit violent since the rock would be on top of you, but if you had to, then it would get the rock away." she said, finished, she thought, and breathed. AJ smiled, and couldn't think of anything else, "Tasha anything you want to add?" she asked her teammate and still smiled at Lainey.

Phoebe smiled broadly at her group. "20 points, wow, that is the most I have ever ot at once" She said happily. "We make a good team" She said to Alicia and Katie.

Alicia smiled proudly at Phoebe. "Yes, alot of ideas, earned us alot of points, infact, thats 40 for Hufflepuff because were in the same house, adn 20 for Ravenclaw I think" she said happily. She sighed. "We did great work guys". Well, at leats we did better than nothing, I think we did very well indeed! She was thinking, the thoughts buzzing in her mind.

Katie jumped up and said" that is my first points that i have been given. yea 20 for ravenclaw and 40 hufflepuff. we all did great" katie with a big smile on her face

Turquoise smiled sheepishly at Patrick's comment.

"Heh, thanks. Wingardium leviosa was a good idea, too."

Twenty points! Wow. That was a good way to start off the term.

She resumed to imagining a hacket zooming in midair and wondered just how dangerous it would be to have one randomly flying around.

"I don't think I could have put it any better!" Tasha said looking back and forth between AJ and the professor. She looked at AJ, who looked very nervous about her answer, and Tasha whispered, "Good Job. You sure saved our butts!"

AJ smiled at Tasha, "thanks," she said and smiled back at the professor, still bobbing around in the water.

Tasha splashed AJ with a giggle. "Now I just hope we're right."

"I believe Diffindo and Reducto both would work. Excellent job AJ and Tasha! Excellent work everyone! I say, we have some wonderful and brilliant minds at work in this pool of a bathtub." Lainey again marked down the points she owed before looking up to her class again.


"Homework time! In a paragraph or two, I want you all to give your opinions on the Lady of the Lake. Do you think she was an evil witch? Was she truly troubled? Should she have had her own room in Mungo's? You tell me."


"Now, grab your towel, and you'll find your clothes wrapped up in them. Dry off and go have fun in Hogsmeade! Excellent class!"

Lainey dismissed them and went to get her own towel and robes.

Katie got her towl dried her self of and wrote down the homework and left

Jordan jumped out of the pool and grabbed her clothes. She quickly changed and ran off to complete her homework.

Tasha edged to the side of the tub, and pulled herself up onto the floor. As she reached to for the towel she thought to herself, "This lesson is going to take some looking into." She exited into a small room to change clothes. As Tasha left the changing room and walked toward the door, she noticed AJ in her green school robes. " I seem to have met more slytherins than I have gryffindor's. Whats up with that?" She asked herself.

Patrick got out of the pool slowly the water was so comfortable. When he had eventually got out of the water half the class had already left. He dried off his hands and wrote down the homework hurridly so that his writing was scrappy and hard to read then he dried off fully and changed out of his swim trunks and back into school robes. He wrapped up the wet swimsuit in the damp towel. On his way out he slung his bag over his shoulder. He put the towel with swimsuit down where his bag had been.

Patrick got out of the pool slowly the water was so comfortable. When he had eventually got out of the water half the class had already left. Alicia smiled, she was alreayd getting wrinkly! She jumped out, and found her towel. Inside, as said were her clothes, tucked in and folded neatly. She dried herself thouroghly, and then changed into her clothes. She was dying to just jump into the pool again, but lesson was over unfortunately. She sighed and then grabbed a spare brush and started brushing her hair. "Cya Phoebe and Katie!!!!!" she said happily, waving at them as she walked out.

AJ smiled and headed to the edge, she was at least not wrong, however she did hope that Lainey would have awarded them some points for all her effort (). she shrugged, Lady of the Lake? well geesh, AJ knew nothing about her... she would have to visit the library sometime for some help. she disappeared into a bathroom stall and came out dry and dressed in her robes, and smiled at Tasha before heading towards the door.

Turquoise crawled out of the pool with some trouble and flopped onto the bathroom floor like a seal. She raised her head when she heard her name and waved to Patrick as she scrambled up. "Bye!"

She dried the worst off and put on her cloak, still in her swimsuit. She didn't bother change yet. "Bye, professor," she said as she exited the bathroom.
