eliza put her hand up "she was called the maiden of lake.... and i think excalibur's Queen,i'm not to sure." she said putting her hand down quickly. |
Brianna raised her hand and said " I've heard that the lady of the lake was also called Nimue, Viviane, Niniane, Nyneve but it all depends on who is telling the story ". |
Prancie raised her hand, "I think Nimue or Vivienne, and thank for making this such a fun lesson!" She splashed a little in the water. |
lizzy, sunk all the way into the warm water, lay on her back and wriggled her toes in the bubbles. it occured to her that this was a perfect way to relax and all classes should be this interesting. she listened to the professor intently, she was curious about the lady in the lake and the lesson seemed more than worthy of her attention. |
Davina sank into the warm water enjoying the bubbles. She could see the lips of her fellow students moving but heard no sounds as they answered the professor's question. |
eliza looked at the water, seening a few people go in she stepped in and swam around, the bubbles covering her as if trying to drag her under. eliza blocked out all noise and relaxed in the warm foaming water. |
Lee walked into the Prefects bathroom with his towel wrapped round him. He had been here before but when he had it was always empty. He slowly removed his orange towel and placed it on the bench before heading over to the water. He placed one foot in the water to make sure it was up to his standards. After about a half a minutes heat test he decided it was good enough to sit in. So he slowly moved in till the water was up to his knees, then his waist, then his chest until finally he was sitting down and the water moved calmy around his neck. Lee sat in the bath completely motionless as his fellow pupils moved about. He wasn't in the mood to 'play'. He was actually thankful - for once- that Lainey had began talking, and her lecture today seemed like it could be pretty interesting. Lee looked around as his fellow pupils volunteered their answers but Lee stayed at the back of the lot still sitting near the edge just listening. |
eliza started to get tired of swimming and moved to the edge, sitting down on the steps into the bath. |
Ariana smiled back at her fellow student and waded around in the pool for a bit. At least she had managed to not make a fool of herself yet, which was good. She sneezed when a lavander scented bubble drifted past her "Great! Now I'm going to break out" she said quietly to herself as her skin turned a soft red color. Trying not to scratch her arm, she paid attention to what the others were saying. |
"Excellent, a lot of you do know her. I'll give you lot points for your answers" Lainey moved through the water, making sure they at least were somewhat paying her attention. "The muggles seem to think that she's several different people - but according to our history - she was just your average witch. Well, as average as Merlin's object of infatuation could be." Lainey grinned and let that little tidbit of information sink in. Lainey went about ducking random students and dodging others. "Who can tell me what historical figure she was the foster mother to?" |
Hermy thought for a moment beofre raising her hand. "Was she the foster mother of Sir Lancelot?" she answered questioningly, unsure whether she had recalled the right person. |
"Sir Lancelot?" asked Lia hesitantly. |
"she was the foster nother of Sir Lancelot and she raised him beneath the murky waters I think professor." Ariana said as she raised her hand, even though others answered first. |
Serilda tred some water as she listened to the questions the teacher asked. Every time she was about to raise her hand, someone always either answered first or called out. She waited patiently for the next question, hoping to get some input. |
Kalaya dodged the professor, trying to avoid being dunked. She tried not to laugh, she'd never had a teacher that would do that, of course she'd never had one that took them swimming either. She listened to the class's answers to the question and glanced over at Jordana with a smile. It seemed that everyone agreed that the Lady of the Lake was Sir Lancelot's foster mother. She looked over at Lainey, waiting for the next question. |
"It was Sir Lancelot Proffesser," said Michael, King Aurther was one of his favourite books growing up. |
""The Lady of the Lake did raise Lancelot after the death of his father. Excellent, points for all that answered." Lainey went back to the spot where she'd entered the tub and sat back up on its edge. "I mentioned earlier that she was the object of infatuation of our legendary Merlin. He loved her so much that... if our history books are truthful ... it killed him. Do you lot think Merlin was under a love potion? Or perhaps something else like that?" Lainey pulled her wand from her hair (where she'd stored it for safe keeping) and waved it at the nearest bubble faucet. Thousands of muliticolored bubbles began to fall on their heads. |
"I don't think he was under a love potion. I'd imagine a person as smart as him would be able to tell if a food or drink was tampered with, wouldn't he? It'd have been difficult to make him fall in love," answered Lia hesitantly, her hand in the air, as the bubbles floated down. She hoped her answer wasn't too off the mark. |
"I do not think so Proffesser," said Michael "Merlin was one of the most powerful and smartest wizards in history, he would have realised she was doing this before it became to late. Besides don't love potions make you crazy about the person? Merlin was surley not crazy about her, just in love. But really the only way we would know for sure was if we were there and saw how he was acting." |
Tasha spoke up for once while sitting on the edge of the tub and stairing at her feet in the water. "Merlin was a smart wizard, but he was still human. He could have been slipped something in his drink or food by the witch. She was a witch, didn't you say professor?" Tasha looked up at the professor seriously. "I mean all the greatest wizards of the past have openly admitted to mistakes they made at one point or another. She could've shneegled him if she was clever enough. Anythings possible I think." |
"It's possible professor, I read somewhere about something that happened to someone else, I can't remember the name now though; but what happened was one man asked this other, more powerful man to take a drink of wine. At the very last second, the firs, less powerful man tricked the powerful man to look the other way while the he poured some potion into the glass of wine, then switched the glasses. It's possible something like that happened with Merlin sir. Maybe Merlin was not as wise as we all thought, and fell victim to this cruel trick." Ariana replied, raising her hand while lfoating peacfully in the tub. |
Phoebe listened intentlt to Lainley thinking. She smiled when she made bubbles fall everywhere. Then raising her hand she said. "I think it is possible. I don't have much knowledge on the lady of the lake so I don't know if she was pretty or smart or what? Depending on who she was I think would help us work out whether or not it was a love potion or not. If Nimue did need something else to get Merlin to like her. But then it was a very strong relationship so that points more in the direction of a potion or something." Phoebe said after giving a small wave to Alicia. |
Alicia thought for a moment, and then said "Erm, from what i have read, a sorcoress named Nimue, whom he fell in love with, and then forced him to tell her all he knew about izardcraft, and then improsoned Wizard merlin in a Hawthorn tree?". She smiled at Phoebe and waved, then swam upto her happily. |
katie sounded a bit snobish when she answeared the proffessor she said " well i personaly think that he was under any spell i think it was true love. " |
eliza looked up "no way!merlin was a very very smart wizard,he would know if the food and/or drink was tampered but she did get him to tell her his knowledge of magic." |
