Lainey's Pool Class... in the Prefect Bathroom/ HoM II.
 

Chikie did what she was told and jumped in to the warm water, but she couldn't help but think it was a weird place to have a lecture

Michael loved swimming so he emmidiatly jumped in but then he wondered out loud "What does this have to do with History of Magic?"

Pauline was going to love this class. Her whole life was about swimming and being in the water besides, guys, horses, and school of course. She got into perfect diving form and divded in. She came to the surface feeling refreshed.

Rave walked intot he bathroom and her jaw dropped, she needed to become a prefect.
Placing her towel down she hopped into the water and swam a bit before waiting for Lainey to talk.

Pauline saw Sebastian "HEy sebastian Long time no see." she said. "How are you?" she asked him swimmign over to him.

Chikie took a lap around the large bath tub, awaiting the class to begin. as she swam she couldn't help but wonder how they were going to take notes

Upon entering the bathroom, Serena smiled. Bright lights shone down, picking up the subtle sparkles of her bathing suit as well as highlighting the bright colors of her classmates' suits. Oh, this was too cool. She had never had a teacher who would take their entire class swimming.

Looking over, she threw a quick smile to Rave and Julia, placed her towel on the bench and stepped gingerly into the bubbly water.

Touy was excited she loved being in and around water. But what would this have to do with History of Magic? Oh well leaving her towel on the bench she jumped in, the water was warm and bubbly. Swimming across the bathtub, what fun.

Jordana followed the rest of the class and was surprised to see that they were now at the Prefect's bathroom. She had heard of it, but never would she have imagined that she would one day be inside of its confines. With a smile on her face she placed her towel on a near by bench and slowly made her way into the inviting pool of water.

Worried about what this class would bring, Rosalie followed the other students to the Prefect Bathroom, and stared at the large tub for a while. Still staring at the water, she deposited her towl on the bench, and removed her uniform, which she wore over a green swimsuit. Still silent, she pulled her long auburn hair back into a ponytail, and eased herself into the water.

Ariana giggled as she walked toward the tub, looking at the depth. she was a bit nervous; it had been a long time since she had been in water. Taking a deep breath she plunged in reeling from the coolness of the water and waited for further instructions.

Ariana thought for a minute then raised her hand, "Um, isn't her other names osmethnig like Nimue or Vivienne?" she thought she was wrong, but gave it a shot and continued to slowly walk around the shallow water.

Jordana smiled at her fellow classmate and raised her hand, "Aren't Niniane, Nyneve, two of the other names that she was known by, Professor?"

Kalaya listened to the professor's explination of the reason why they were here and smiled. In all honesty, she was glad they'd come here instead. She was always at the lake, but she wasn't very fond of swimming in it.
She swam near Jordana and listened to her and the other ravenclaw's answers. She knew a bit about the Lady of the Lake, but not much, only what she'd read when her father had forced her to read King Arthur. She knew she wasn't going to do well in the class, being raised as a muggle and all, but she hadn't expected on not having any notes from the lesson. Maybe I'll get Jordana to help me with the homework, she thought to herself before returning her attention to the class.

Katie nealy got distracted by the bubles so she pulled her head in but she dint no the answear. when the person who gets it correct she thought to her self tah should wright it down just in case we need to learn it.

Alicia smiled as she walked into the huge and beautiful, Prefects bathroom! She jumped up and down excitedly, and with her togs alreayd on, she dived into the warm, foamy, bubbly water. She did a few laps, an dthne looked up at Professor Lainey, giggling. The idea of it made her giggle, but she racked her brain, trying to find some information stuck in her brain where she had read, or heard anything about this 'Lady of The lake'. She then raised her hand "I believe she was also known as ' Nimue, Nineve, and The Maiden of the Lake" she said clearly.

eliza put her hand up "she was called the maiden of lake.... and i think excalibur's Queen,i'm not to sure." she said putting her hand down quickly.

Brianna raised her hand and said " I've heard that the lady of the lake was also called Nimue, Viviane, Niniane, Nyneve but it all depends on who is telling the story ".

Davina sank into the warm water enjoying the bubbles.She could see the lips of her fellow students moving but heard no sounds as they answered the professor's question.

eliza looked at the water,seening a few people go in she stepped in and swam around,the bubbles covering her as if trying to drag her under. eliza blocked out all noise and relaxed in the warm foaming water.

eliza started to get tired of swimming and moved to the edge,sitting down on the steps into the bath.

Ariana smiled back at her fellow student and waded around in the pool for a bit. At least she had managed to not make a fool of herself yet, which was good. She sneezed when a lavander scented bubble drifted past her "Great! Now I'm going to break out" she said quietly to herself as her skin turned a soft red color. Trying not to scratch her arm, she paid attention to what the others were saying.

Hermy thought for a moment beofre raising her hand. "Was she the foster mother of Sir Lancelot?" she answered questioningly, unsure whether she had recalled the right person.

"she was the foster nother of Sir Lancelot and she raised him beneath the murky waters I think professor." Ariana said as she raised her hand, even though others answered first.

Serilda tred some water as she listened to the questions the teacher asked. Every time she was about to raise her hand, someone always either answered first or called out. She waited patiently for the next question, hoping to get some input.

Kalaya dodged the professor, trying to avoid being dunked. She tried not to laugh, she'd never had a teacher that would do that, of course she'd never had one that took them swimming either. She listened to the class's answers to the question and glanced over at Jordana with a smile. It seemed that everyone agreed that the Lady of the Lake was Sir Lancelot's foster mother. She looked over at Lainey, waiting for the next question.

"It was Sir Lancelot Proffesser," said Michael, King Aurther was one of his favourite books growing up.

"I do not think so Proffesser," said Michael "Merlin was one of the most powerful and smartest wizards in history, he would have realised she was doing this before it became to late. Besides don't love potions make you crazy about the person? Merlin was surley not crazy about her, just in love. But really the only way we would know for sure was if we were there and saw how he was acting."

"It's possible professor, I read somewhere about something that happened to someone else, I can't remember the name now though; but what happened was one man asked this other, more powerful man to take a drink of wine. At the very last second, the firs, less powerful man tricked the powerful man to look the other way while the he poured some potion into the glass of wine, then switched the glasses. It's possible something like that happened with Merlin sir. Maybe Merlin was not as wise as we all thought, and fell victim to this cruel trick." Ariana replied, raising her hand while lfoating peacfully in the tub.

Phoebe listened intentlt to Lainley thinking. She smiled when she made bubbles fall everywhere. Then raising her hand she said. "I think it is possible. I don't have much knowledge on the lady of the lake so I don't know if she was pretty or smart or what? Depending on who she was I think would help us work out whether or not it was a love potion or not. If Nimue did need something else to get Merlin to like her. But then it was a very strong relationship so that points more in the direction of a potion or something." Phoebe said after giving a small wave to Alicia.

Alicia thought for a moment, and then said "Erm, from what i have read, a sorcoress named Nimue, whom he fell in love with, and then forced him to tell her all he knew about izardcraft, and then improsoned Wizard merlin in a Hawthorn tree?". She smiled at Phoebe and waved, then swam upto her happily.

katie sounded a bit snobish when she answeared the proffessor she said
" well i personaly think that he was under any spell i think it was true love. "

eliza looked up "no way!merlin was a very very smart wizard,he would know if the food and/or drink was tampered but she did get him to tell her his knowledge of magic."

Hmm how woud i get out of tree thought Thump as he looked around for some other students to form a group with.

Rave looked around the classroom until she saw a small Ravenclaw boy. "Want to start a group?" she asked silently swimming up behing him.

AJ looked around, she saw Rave pairing up with a little Ravie boy, and another loner Slytherin girl. she wondered if either of them would pair with her.

katie looking around worried she said to her self " i wounder what group im goin to be in ..." still she looked around

Phoebe turned to the ravenclaw girl called Katie and said, "Can I go with you" She then turned to Alicia telling her to come over into this group.

Katie said to alica "sure, im thinking of a stratagy. do you have one at the moment ?" katie said it while playin with the bubbles

Phoebe smiled back and nodded. "Sure, why not. Strategy...none yet" Phoebe thought for a while. It should be creative...hufflepuff could do with th points Then she got an idea, it wasn't too good. "Maybe I would dig a hole in the ground and tunnel through making it big enough to be comfy. I might also make food and drink for me. Tunnel away, far away from Nimue." She then turned to see what the others in her group thought.

"that's good. We have our wands which I forgot so maybe we should think of something using them. Phoebe tried to think of another idea but couldn't. She looked to see if the others had anymore ideas.

Katie told them " i read in a book about a spell its called err now i cant think of it just wait a minute why i think its was so long ago " she thought to her self " well maby a spoon " she said that as a joke

Katie jumped " i think it was Dissendium im not sure but i think it is "

"Hello, my name is Michael Cutler, you want to be in my group?" Michael said to a girl he saw was still looking for a partner.

Prancie smiled happily, "Sure! Oh, I'm Prancie." She said.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Prancie," said Michael, "So lets get started, what do you think happened to him? I always thought that Nimue exoplioted is elf/spirit blood and wove him into the tree, which would obviously have no escape."

Turquoise Noire saw the other students group up, looked around to see if there were any left partnerless and came to the conclusion that there weren't. She saw three other students form a group and timidly swam to them, head halfway under the water.

"Aye, hello," she said to Prancie, Michael and Patrick. "Can I join you? I don't have a group.

..My name is Turkey."

Without waiting for a true answer, she joined their circle and blew some bubbles off her nose.

"I think that if I were trapped under a rock, and was a skilled witch, I'd Transfigure the rock. Say, into a caterpillar. It's much easier to free yourself from under a caterpillar than it is to wiggle out from under a rock, don't you think?"

She looked hopefully at the others to see if they accepted her suggestion.

Tasha hopped off the side of the pool and made her way to the other side where she saw another loner like her self. "You wanna work on this together?"

Encouraged by Patrick's nod, Turquoise continued:

"And you could use Transfiguration to your aid by Transfiguring youself as well. For example into a mole, and you could then dig yourself out from under said rock or tree. Or Transfigure the tree into a reed."

"I guess you could always use transfiguration?" Phoebe said thinking. "Maybe a mole or a burroeing animal. That is probably very difficult. If you were under a rock...You could blow youself up" Phoebe said exitedly, then noticing the others puzzled looks she added. "I mean like a balloon. Then you would lift the rock up as you floated into the sky and far away." She smiled a little imagining herself as a balloon.

Katie with a puzzled said " thats not a bad idea what do you think Alicia?"
*Katie still thinking*

Tasha noticed the dissapointed look on AJ's face as she had her eye on another set of students. "They friends of yours?" Tasha asked. "Its cool if you'd rather work with them, cause I'm no good at this stuff anyway. You'll probably get your house more points with them as partners." Not being upset at all. "Why don't you go on over?" Tasha encouraged.

"Yeah but those are only the transfiguration possibilties what about the charms he could have used," he thought for a moment, "He could have levitated the rock or tree with wingardium leviosa." continued patrick hoping that Prancie or Michael might give an answer. On reflection he thought that Nimue was unlikely to have made it so simple to get free. "That's only a suggestion of course, it's probably too simple to really be the answer." he added.

Alicia looked quizzically over at Phoebe. "So, youre saying, that we could levitate the rock, or, transfigure the rock into an animal?" she said. "Thats it!!" she siad happily. "Transfiguration!!! Youre a second year Phoebe, you should know some of this stuff, genius!" she said, smiling. Commenting Phoebe. "But could we? Transfigure a humungous, tonne-heavy stone into a plant, or a blade of grass, or even an animal?" Alicia said. "We could always try" she added.

AJ shrugged and smiled, "no they got a full group i think, why don't we get started?" she said floating around and spinning in a circle, "alright, first off: i think if you were under a rock, you could levitate the rock off of you. easiest way. but if not... umm... you could diffindo the rock into tiny peices and then just get up... or you could always just lay there and die depending on how big the rock was. if it was too big it would crush you right away and no time to use anything to get it off of you. but... however i dont' think we're supposed to be thinking that.... well then you could do any of those things, or transfigure yourself into something much stronger, like a bear, or the rock into something much smaller, like a sack of feathers." she said shrugging, "What do you think?" she dove under and came back up to get the hair out of her eyes.

"Yeah, levitation might work on the rock, if it's not too heavy and big. I don't know how easy it is to levitate a tree, though, with its roots in the ground.. Hmm."

Turquoise watched an orange bubble float up towards them. It smelled faintly of satsumas.

"If you can Apparate, then you could Apparate from underneath the rock. But if we want charms, then besides wingardium leviosa there's the Banishing Charm, which is the opposite of Accio.. I think. Or diffindo, to split up the rock into two, but that might be dangerous to you, to have big chunks or rock fly around."

Turquoise was getting excited, thinking up all kinds of possibilities.

"Oh.. oh, I know! First, you could set the tree on fire. Then put the flame-freezing charm on yourself so you wouldn't burn along, and just sit and wait for the tree to be reduced to ashes around you. Tadaa!"

She scratched her nose and smiled, feeling accomplished, and looked at the other members of her group.

"I think you are like way better at this than me. Easiest way, I think is to transfigure the rock. Oh wait! You could use that spell that breaks stuff. I can't remember the name of it though." Tasha said as she looked cock-eyed at a stone statue of a mermaid beside the tub.

"Coooooool!" exclaimed Patrick "Yeah that might really work!" he smiled at Turquoise she seemed to think up everything.

Ariana was floating in the corner, saddened that no one had asked her to be a part of the group. It was getting very tiring, being alone all the time with no friends or anyone to talk too. She looked around, hopeful to find someone else who didn't have any members yet, but only saw groups of students talking quietly. She stayed where she was, sighed and thought of a way to get out of that predictament.

"yes thats a great idea i love it" katie was enjoying every moment she decied to jump up and down

Phoebe nodded to Alicia and Ktaie. "i get it now" She laughed slihgtly. "Are we ready to tell Lainey?" She asked thinking herself they were. "I think we have enough ideas." She added looking at the other two.
