"Does anyone want to take a gander as to how this is possible? Someone explain to poor 'lil Samea where she came from." Lainey leaned back to search through her drawers again. She found another piece of gum to keep Samea interested.

WhizzyBubbles 09-25-2006 12:33 AM

Alicia raised her hand "Another theory is that Poltergiests come from the mental energies of a teenanger, or somebody" she said happily. Samea was surely keeping the class interested, she smiled.

You know, that was a good question. She'd never really thought about where a poltergeist might come from. Julia's hand slowly rose into the air. She had a guess that she knew was going to be wrong, but why not give it a shot since she had no idea? "Um, could Samea be the result of the students around the school not able to control their magic? Or am I way off?" She raised her eyebrows and shrugged, hoping she was somewhere close.

potterbaby 09-25-2006 04:41 AM

Tasha was sitting across the room, quietly giggling about the poltergeist and the student with pink and brown splotched hair that now had an orange hat to "TOP" it all off. The thought suddenly came to her. "Professor, the 'Biography of Harry Potter' tells us that Harry asked 'Nearly Headless Nick' the same question after Sirius Black was killed." She went on to explain. "One becomes a poltergeist when they are truely afraid of death. But I think she is because she doesn't know how, or maybe what happened. So now she can't move on. Sorta like, she didn't know she just died and she missed the boat or was to scared to get on board."

lavoni 09-25-2006 06:30 AM

Phoebe thought about this Question, Samea sure was interesting. Phoebe listened to a Gryffindor say that One becomes a poltegiest when they are afraid of death. Phoebe raised her hand and said, "Excuse me proffesir, but I thought that that was Ghosts. Ghosts become what they are because they are afraid of death not poltegeits" She was hoping that she hadn't just embarrased herself.

"You're on the right track, all of you are. You all have brought up an emotion in some way or another. Fear, anger, hate. When there is a powerful emotion, most of the time at death, a recording is believed to be appear. A poltergeist. Our Samea. Samea, do you remember being made?" Lainey asked noting down the people that had given answers so she could award them points later. "Tell us about it if you do."

Nabs 09-25-2006 12:52 PM

Nik listened to what the prof was saying and smirked, imagine what type of poltergeist was being created at this very moment, he thought, glancing over at Lee, whose hair was still dripping black ink. Probably an orange one with a penchant for gossip. Oh wait...didn't all poltergeists enjoy gossip? Perfect, then.

miss weasley 09-25-2006 03:44 PM

Eliza listened to the professor, So many poltergeists must have been made because so many people are afraid to die when they do and hate the people who had fatally hurt them. she thought, then a thought popped into her head....her parents....there had to be poltergeists made when they died.

Si 09-25-2006 08:50 PM

As Francesca was listening to Professor Lainey, she was compressing her urge to bust out laughing at Lee who now had an ink-stained head. The question Professor Lainey asked was one she had never really cared to think about before. She didn't know of Samea until last term when she tried to tell her to throw eggs at the Gryffindor Prefect because she was always on her case. Afraid of death, eh? Hah watch me end up one whenever I die. Hopefully that won't be for a long time. She tapped her fingers lightly on the desk because of a little muggle superstition she had heard about from one of her friends. I refuse to die before Nik's git of a father. It won't happen.

Pandalicious 09-25-2006 09:14 PM

Brittany supressed a giggle from escaping her lips by bringing the palm of her hand to her mouth. She watched in amuesment as the poltergeist poured ink on an older Hufflepuff Prefect. Of course, it was probably an unpleasent experience for the boy but of course Brittany could tell that everyone else found it as funny as Britt herself did.

Turning slightly to her right, she listened to the other students give their opinions on how Samea could have come about. Brittany pondered this herself but couldn't really think of anything her classmates hadn't already said.

Tag wasn't paying the least bit attention. He'd been initially irritated that Kay had sat directly in front of him when he'd so clearly been trying to avoid her, but as soon as Tails slid in next to him, all the boringness of the History class evaporated. He grinned stupidly and kept looking over at Taylor, tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth. Tag was particularly entranced by her long ponytail. It kept swishing this way and that, as she took notes and looked up repeatedly. It's like. . . it has a life of its own. . .
Professor Lainey became a drone in the insignificant background.

The HORDE 09-26-2006 03:03 AM

"Idiots, the whole lot," Samea yawned and fell off the desk. "Samea wasn't made, Samea just was. Samea was never so boring as to be corporeal." She stretched out a shimmering arm and admired it before shoving it through someone's leg. "Idiots. What kind of teachers has Cece hired herself?"

Mad Eye Touz 09-26-2006 03:11 AM

"Don't insult the students, Sammy. Not everyone is educated in the origin of poltergeists." Lainey shook her head at her students, trying to appologize to them for the rudeness of Samea with her eyes. "But, what Samea means, is that she wasn't ever alive. She was never anything really. She just ... was ... one day. Our Samea is the direct result of some strong, strong emotion from a person. Perhaps, one day, someone laughed so hard they died and that's how we got our Samea." Lainey smiled at their little poltergeist. Interesting things, they were.

"Some poltergeists have had the ability to articulate themselves and to have distinct personalities. I think our Samea has personality, to say the least. Samea, how about showing the class some of your personality?"

Lainey motioned behind Samea for her students to put their textbooks over their heads for protection. Lainey lifted her own, just in case, to cover her head.

The HORDE 09-26-2006 03:17 AM

"Samea does not perform like a circus animal," she sneered, standing on her head so that her voluminous skirts seemed to fall around her ears. "If Samea's personality does not show strong, then Samea is doing a poor poor job indeed." She fell over in a loud clatter. "Samea is the best poltergeist Hogwarts ever did have."

feeheeheeny 09-26-2006 03:24 AM

Oh no, Julia thought to herself as Lainey told Samea to show some of her personality, and she immediately clung to her Bugs Bunny Cape tightly. Then as Samea spoke, she giggled silently. How awesome is she... Julia quickly jotted a few notes down and watched the poltergeist closely. "Being a poltergeist sure would be cool," she quietly commented so quietly that only she could hear.

Nabs 09-26-2006 03:28 AM

Nik was too amused by the poltergeist's antics to remember to shelter his head with the book. It was now on the floor, and her transparent undergarments were showing. He snorted and looked to the side, wondering what to do about it. Hogwarts would probably be better off without a poltergeist, but Samea sure made the school more fun.

potterbaby 09-26-2006 03:30 AM

"Professor, How did Samea get her human like traits if she just....is?" Tasha asked with her book opened and sitting like a roof on top of her head while she took notes.

Si 09-26-2006 04:05 AM

Fran snorted as Samea turned over on her head. She didn't care for Samea because she never really did act like a poltergeist did normally. She twirled a quill between her fingers watching the poltergeist with amusement. The quill accidentally flipped out of her fingers to hit a certain boy named Nik in the head. She snickered to herself and shrugged her shoulders while keeping her eyes on Samea.

Nabs 09-26-2006 04:09 AM

"Ouch..." Nik muttered as he picked up the errant quill. He glared at Fran, but the corners of his lips twitched and ruined the effect. Fran and Samea would make great friends, he thought, suppressing the urge to roll his eyes.

Si 09-26-2006 04:13 AM

Fran started running her fingers through her hair still watching Samea. She could see the attempt at a glare being shot her way, but it was a failed attempt. The two couldn't be mad at one another. She mouthed the word accident while looking at Nik. However her eyes told a different story. There was a hint of guilt in them that she wasn't aware of.

WhizzyBubbles 09-26-2006 06:14 AM

Alicia listened carefully to Lainey and whispered. "Yes Samea, show her what you're made of". Quietly, she put her thickest textbook on top of her head, and waited. But, nothing happened. When Alicia heard Samea's response, she put down her book eagerly and sighed.

lavoni 09-26-2006 06:56 AM

Phoebe listended to Samea, It was interesting. Phoebe suddenly thought of something, raising her hand she said, "Excuse me proffesor, Do Poltegeists personalities depend on what emotion they came from? For Example are all Poltegeists the same or if they came from a sad emotion would that mean that they are sad?" She asked.

Disneymaniac 09-26-2006 07:55 AM

Jenni watched Samea very carefully. She began to study her behaviour. "Professor...Can you get nice poltergeists?" She hid slightly behind her text book, not knowing what the reaction would be.

FLEUR 09-26-2006 12:23 PM

Katie was so interested in this lesson. she was watching and wrighting notes down. Then she wrote down the last few words that Katie needed and held her textbook over her head waiting for something to happen...

"I believe that she may have inherited her traits from the time she appeared. Like, from the mood in which she was created. For example, with our Samea, you can't help but think that maybe she came about in a happy, energetic, time. But, not all poltergeists are like our Sammy. Some can be quite frightening and in a permanent bad mood."

"What's the difference in a ghost and a poltergeist?"
