If you've made it past the gargoyle, all that stands between you and the Headmistress is a solid wood door. On the other side of the door is a high ceilinged room with a desk at the far end. The walls are stacked with innumerable portraits, although they all appear to be sleeping deeply or otherwise engaged. The shelves and tables are lined with strange objects, some that seem almost familiar to you, and even a few you are certain are mutated Dark Magic Detectors. A low row of pictures line a bookshelf otherwise filled with various texts, and each features the same blond woman waving happily with some other person.

Behind the desk sits a woman deep in thought. Her honey-colored hair is braided and coiled around her head like a crown. She is wearing dark blue robes with flowers embroidered along the hems and neckline. Overall, she gives off quite a solemn appearance, until a sound from you catches her attention. When she looks at you, you realize her eyes are full of laughter and a smile plays around her lips. "What can I help you with today?"

ooc: Do NOT, under fear of punishment and of me giggling and pointing at you... do NOT post in this thread unless you have the password legitimately. Also... the Gargoyle thread may be used as a sort of waiting area for the Headmistress.

"Alright then, my dear... tell me what this is all about. I already have heard about the odd attacks around the school, but if you have any light to shed on the subject..." Kay really did look unwell, poor thing.

"What attacks?" Kay asked and furrowed her brow in confusion. "I've been obsessively studying for NEWTs. That's what I wanted to speak to you about." She took a deep breath. "Something strange happened the other night while I was finishing up my Arithmancy work . . . maybe it has something to do with me memorizing that 15 pound book . . . the last thing I remember is seeing a strange message on the wall and then I woke up on the couch," she said in a shaky voice. "Hawken said I was screaming and hexing the curtains and calling out names of students who are no longer here . . . and Tag took my wand, but I got it back. But I don't remember anything they said." A few tears fell from her eyes and she stared at her hands.

"You... lost time? You were studying and had some sort of fit? That's what you're telling me, right? Do your friends know exactly where you were the entire time you were upset? And have you gone to see the nurse yet?" Her eyebrows knit together and she tapped the Dark Magic detector that spun silently with her wand. It stopped spinning and settled onto the desk.

"They said I was in the common room the entire time," she said softly and a few more tears fell. "I think I may have yelled at the younger students. I . . . I hadn't slept in nearly 3 days . . . does this happen to NEWT students?"

Rae smiled in relief and poured them both a steeling cup of tea. "My dear... NEWT students go crazy. I had a student burn all his textbooks... on a couch. I've had a student attempt to take all the tests in her bathrobe and slippers, which did not go over well. You need some sleep, maybe some Pepper-up from the nurse. You're no good to yourself, your friends, or your studies if you continue to trek on recklessly like this. Take some personal time."

Kay graciously took the cup of tea from Professor Rae. "Thank you," she said politely. "I'll take your advice and take a break from studying." She took a sip of her tea. "But how can I face the rest of the house after what I've done? I'm afraid they won't understand the stress of NEWTs and how much I'm afraid of failure . . . failure scares me as much as snakes."

"Don't talk about it. Your friends don't need any explanation, and everyone else won't listen anyway. If you MUST talk about it, you can simply be truthful. You're a seventh year and under enormous stress. Trust me... you aren't alone."

Kay slumped back in her chair. "I just feel so horrible about the whole thing. What if . . . what if no one believes me?" she asked feebily. She had grown accustomed to being a leader and now she felt as if her leadership skills had taken a major blow.

"Seven years of service and leadership are not so easily undone, child," Rae winked at the girl and pushed a cookie towards her. "Now... I have more business to attend to. Do you need anything else or shall I talk to you again soon?"

Lua approached the headmisstress door and knocked twice, it was always proper to atleast knock twice, in the case the first knock was never heard.

The waiting area outside the headmistress office was slightly small making lua very uncomfortable, she shiftily started skimming the walls and the staircase, everything around the school was frightening these days.

Kay shook her head. "No, ma'am, but is there a different way for me to get back to the common room? I promised Elijah and Professors . . . I mean a few others, that I wouldn't wander about the school alone even if I'm armed with my wand. I wouldn't want to go back on my word." Her eyes shifted over to the fireplace.

"Of course, my dear... feel free to use my Floo," Rae stood and offered the Floo powder to Kay before she turned to the fire. Once Kay had disappeared, she opened the door for Lua.

"Ma'am" lua said giving a small bow as the door opened. She slowly walked towards the headmistress skimming the portraits on the walls. Once she reached her, lua thought it was better not speak or atleast not to say anything about today's events before headmistress rae read the note lee gave her downstairs. "Ma'am, lee asked me to give you this" she said before handing the note over.

She took the time as an advantage and started skimming the portraits again, especially the one for Godric Gryffindor. Lua never ceased to wonder if any of the portraits would actually be spying on the headmistress, and if so which one would it be?

"I am not quite sure the note is fair" lua replied moving her eyes to the headmistress instead of the portraits.

She debated for a moment on how to explain the behavior. Firstly she wasn't sure if she should mention the meeting between lainey and voldemortist, in that case she would have to explain how she spyed and the story behind the fat cats. Lua will get in more trouble because headmistress rae will know the fat cat that was lurking in the staff meeting. Secondly, she would have to explain their maps and if so they are more highly to be confiscated. Lost in her dillemma, lua had a dreamy look on her face.

Finally, lua shrugged her shoulders and thought it would be better to be discrete and began explaining "Well, rave my sister said she wanted to go speak with professor lainey. Then a few moments later my necklace went warm" lua pulled her necklace out for the headmistress to see, "meaning rave was in danger and she was in lainey's office and in trouble. So me and serena went to professor lainey's office to see if she was alright. But her office was locked".

"Ultimately, Miss Stone... you forget yourself. You and Rave both have this idea that you have a right to go around acting as if you are the Aurors in charge of maintaining order around here. If you don't trust us, that is one thing, but you haven't the right to boss or accuse your professors of inpropriety. There are ways to go about these things, and I will discuss this with you in detention. You may head there now," Rae studied Lee's note before jotting herself a line as well.

Lainey, now having flooed three times, was quite dirty as she tumbled into Rae's office. Merlin, she was dreading this. Nothing like telling your best friend that you might have betrayed them.

Her plan was to just blurt it all out and then face the consquences. However, Rae wasn't alone in her office. "Oh. Sorry. Should I come back...?"

"No... Miss Stone was just leaving. Detention," she gave the girl a pointed look and waited for her to leave. "Anjelica... just the one I was hoping to see. I've been hearing some odd things about you, and based on your behavior lately..." She tapped her fingers on the desk.

"But But, I didn't do anything" lua replied wondering what was the purpose of her detention. Knowing there was no way to argue with the headmistress about this, atleast it was better than staying with lainey in one contained office, she might kill them both.

She walked towards the door to leave without taking a look at lainey, just incase she can hypnotise.

Lainey sighed. "Yeah...," she followed Lua to the door, making sure she was gone. Lainey turned the key to Rae's door, locking it. "Yeah, the Book has me stressed out, Rae. You know good and well by now how I feel about it. When are you destroying it?" Lainey asked, turning around to stare at her friend.

"Soon. Tonight, maybe tomorrow," Rae gave a one-shouldered shrug and twirled her quill. "Don't you even want to hear the rumors? The one that Virohsa told me," Rae laughed and put down her quill, her expression warm. "You'll love it. Smile, Anj... the world has gone mad."

"That soon?!" Lainey squeaked in a high pitched voice. She blinked a few times before pacing a moment. Lainey realized how ridiculous that must look though, and went to go sit down and twidle her thumbs. "That woman hates me with a fiery passion. There's no telling what she said." Over Rae's shoulder... Lainey spotted the jewelry box.

"She said she's got student spies everywhere, and she's had you trailed to Hogsmeade. Apparently, you and our dear Voldemortist are having a torrid affair. Really, Anj," Rae was laughing outright now as she exaggerated the telling. "Really... if you're going to go and fall for the greatest Dark Lord of all time, you should have the decency to let me know. I invited you to my wedding afterall. It's just good manners."

Lainey's eyes swelled to the size of small moons. Her mouth fell open and she forgot how to breath or blink. It was a long, long, awkward pause. Realizing she had to do or say something, Lainey laughed. "Yeah... that's amusing, no? I told you she hates me. She's actually getting her information from some students, who also apparently hate me." If they didn't, they would have just left her alone. Why were they following her to start with?!

"I'm having a terrible year, Rae."

Rae's expression sombered and she gave her best friend a somber look. "I know, and I wish I could help you in some way. Let me do something for you, Anj... anything to help you feel more confident about my choices this year." She reached a hand for Anjelica's.
