Alicia lifted her lef over her broom, and chose a good grip. She looked around the class as they all mounted, and she did the same. She was a little nervous about flying, but she loved it so much!!

She hovered above the ground for a moment, then shot up towards the sky. She made a few circles around all the goalposts, and then started a couple of laps around the Quidditch Pitch, the wind smacking her face.

She had a huge smiled of her face and she saw Ghada and said "Hey Ghada!" she waved as she passed.

Cassandra was about to burst out in tears. Everyone seemed to be in the air but her. She had her left hand over her broom and she kept whispering "UP!" But the broom was laying flat on the ground. How could this be happening to her? Was this pressure to perform? Cassandra's eyes were shiny and filled with tears, but none escaped her.

She was afraid that the Professor would be mad that she couldn't do it, she had excelled at all her classes... well, less so at History of Magic... but still she'd never failed at something. Cassandra kept thinking of her parents and the letter she'd received. They expected nothing less than perfection. What was she going to do? If she could have just called to one of the prefects, but they were too far in the sky.

"Up," she kept saying in a low voice "You silly school broom, up!"

Hi Amiela said flying down. I looks like your having a bit of trouble. Here try this broom. Amiela said tossing Cassandra another broom. Like this. She demonstrated. Now you try. she said

Cassandra nearly missed catching the broom and it hit her in the head. As she held her head she thought trying a new broom may help. She picked up the old broom and placed it back on the rack, then dropped the broom the Hufflepuff girl tossed her on the ground, placed her left hand over it and said "Up!" The broom giggled, which was more than the other did.

Cassandra smiled at the girl then, with force behind her voice, said "Up!" The broom jumped in her hand. "I did it!! I did it!!"

Cassandra mounted her broom and kicked off from the ground. She began flying up after the rest of the class.

AJ was still flying around, and saw a Slythie who was having troubles, "the broom wasn't the problem," she said smiling, "you just weren't being firm enough with it," she set her broom, well the schools, down and said, "see? you have to be firm and let it know who the boss is." she put her right hand out and stared at the broom, repeating the command firmly and fairly loudly, "UP!" she said and the broom flew to her hand, she smiled. "just a hint," she said shrugging and mounting, then kicking off again and taking off.

Phoebe began zooming around the pitch. She da improved dramatiscaly over the holidays and could now do all sort sof things. She ractised sharp turns for a few laps the she tried stopping suddenly. This took a few tries to get right. Finally Phoebe decided to try a dive. She had done one once before but had failed. "here goes" She whispered to herself and dived towards the ground. As she was about to make contact with it she swerved the broom upwards and stopped eyes open wide amazed she had done it.

Suddenly a whistle was heard throughout the stadium and pitch. McAiken is motioning for everyone to return to the ground. He stands waiting for everyone to return.

AJ tipped her broom down, and began speeding toward the ground, then slowed and came down in a big circle, slowly and spiraled to the ground. she hit and immediately felt a million pounds heavier for flying for so long. she took her goggles off, but left the gloves on and set the broom down and stood looking at McAiken.

Lee zoomed to ground level, slowing steadily as he got nearer and nearer to the ground. He rested his feet upon the grass and held his broom at his side, removing his googles and gloves and pocketing them.

After making a few rounds around the pitch having one of the best time in Hogwarts Siriana hears a whistle and spots the Professor motioning to them to reach the ground.She pushed the tip of the broom's handle down and started zooming slowly towards the Professor, following the Huffie Prefect until her feet touched the grass again. She swung her leg over the broom and put it on the ground. She removed her googles and gloves and raised her head up to watch the others coming down.

Swinging one leg over her own broom, her hair tied into a thick ponytail, Tia kicked off from the ground, just to have a bit of fun, zooming through the air. She wasn't the best player you would find, but she was pretty great at it. She looped through the air, her lips curving slightly into a smile as she flew higher, looking down at the younger students and watching the older ones fly ahead. From high up, she noticed Professor McAiken, motioning to them and, slowly, she began to drop downwards. Gathering speed as she flew lower, she wind whipping her face, she dived down and landed on the ground. She jumped enthusiastically off her broom and shouldered it, looking around at everyone else.

From the sidelines, Lauren heard a shrill whistle coming from Professor McAiken's direction. She grabbed the school broom she was issued as a first year and headed over to him, her ankle still on her mind. She was trying her hardest to not limp on the way to where he was standing - it was bad enough to let everyone here see her do so poorly under pressure in the air, but to have injured herself in the process? She couldn't have been more dismayed if her robes and clothes under them flew off in the process. Once in the group of students that had already formed around their professor, Lauren lied her broom down on the ground and stood (weight off of her bad side) waiting to hear what Professor McAiken was going to say.

amy had so much fun flying around that when she heard the whistel she stopped and came down but though "i can't wait to go again"

Jenna heard the whistle blowing. "Aw, darn it, I want to keep flying...I guess I really do have my mother's Quidditch skills," Jenna thought. She zoomed back to the ground a few seconds later and had a smooth landing.

Amber hadnt even gotten off the ground yet so there was no problem getting down. so she stayed where she was and watched everyone else come down.

Cassandra heard the whistle and turned so abruptly she almost fell off her broom. She realized how far from the ground she was and started feeling dizzy.

Lia heard a whistle, letting her know it was time to dismount. She tipped her broom, like the other she saw, and within seconds was back on the ground.

Madalyn heard the whistle and was disappointed that the practice was already over. She quitley tilted downwards and lightly touched down, looking at the professor for furthar instruction.

Ghada suddenly heard a whistle and stopped she looked down to see the proffesor waiting for the students to come down Ghada groaned she had so much fun oh well it was fun while it lasted' she thought as she started to land slowly.

Phoebe already close to the ground headed toward McAiken and stopped near him dismounting carefully. Slightly dissapointed that they had to stop. Phoebe turned to see Aj near her and smiled. "That was fun" She whispered.

Alicia heard the whistle, and dived towards the ground. The air was stinging her face, but it felt awesome. Then around 2 metres from the ground she tipped her broom upwards a little, and then descended, and landed on the ground perfectly and then dismounted. Then she looked up at the professor happily.

Agatha landed on the pitch with a smile on her face. She didn't know that flying could be this relaxing. It releases all of her worries and fears in the world. She dismounted her broom. She was a bit sad that she had to stop flying.

Natalie landed on the ground and dismounted gracefully as usual. She was so happy to be finally flying again. With a big smile on her face, Natalie watched everyone else as they flew onto the ground. She wondered if anyone else had been flying since they were 4 years old. She turned towards the professor, waiting for further instruction.

"Well done everyone, it appears as if most of you will be competent fliers be you know it. Your homework is 12 inches (2 paragraphs of no more than 6 sentences each) of parchment on the history of brooms. It will be due on August 25th at 11:59 pm GMT / 6:59 pm EST." McAiken stated. "We have 15 minutes left in class so I suggest you get back up in the air for a bit more practice time."

OOC: I will leave this thread open for practice flying for a while longer. I will allow it to continue as long as the RP is realistic and there is no misbehavior. So go fun flying. Discover you can stop on dime or dive like Krum. Enjoy yourselves and I look forward to reading later.
