Kay was still shaken over what the boggart had become and pulled herself up off the floor. She saw the line of students waiting their turn to tackle the creature and slipped to the very back of the classroom next to the door. Being in class is not resting . . . Professor Rae told me to rest . . . I've tried but I can't . . . maybe I should go see the school nurse or . . . wait, I know . . . Professor Branxton. |
Tag watched apprehensively from the back of the line as each student faced the boggart. When Kay crumbled upon seeing a dead Elijah, he was struck dumb. Surely not Kay! If anyone could do it, it would be her! More disturbing than her failure to tame the boggart, however, was what it had turned into. Tag's greatest fear was losing his closest sister, who was currently dabbling in the dark arts. He dreamed about finding her mangled or killed by death-eaters, and at this moment, Elijah's body looked eerily similar to his nightmares. Despite himself, Tag felt both afraid and somehow connected to her. If Kay still had trouble facing her fears, where did that leave the rest of them? She looked suspiciously like she was trying to inch her way out the door. Take me with you! Tag backed up until he was against the wall and right next to her. He wanted to ask if she wanted to make a run for it, but wasn't sure if she was still mad at him. Up until five minutes ago, he'd still been mad at her. "Are you okay?," he asked simply, looking up at her. |
Kay was grateful to hear someone ask her if she was okay. To her surprise, it was Tag. "N-no," she whispered and wiped away her tears with the sleeve of her robes. "I-I'm not feeling so well . . . stress from preparing for the NEWTs." |
Kassie walked over to Kay. "Woulod you like me to walk you to the common room?" she asked. |
Deeps holded her wand and her breath tightly and came forward. As soon as she came the boggart turned into a fierce tiger. It was crouching very badly at her.For a few moments she closed her ears out of fear and noise. And thaen gaining all her confidence in the between gap,she took her hands from her ears and shouted angrily "Riddikulus" angrily at the tiger. Suddenly it changed into a cat which was running all round the room funnily.Being relieved Deeps steped back and got back to her seat. |
Tia stepped away from the Boggart as she let another student come forward. Watching the others, she saw Kay try to tackle her boggart, and fail - Sort of. She shuddered, and slowly made her way over to where Kay stood, talking to Tag. "Are you alright?" she asked gently. |
Phoebe stepped up again. She was prepared for it now, Once again came Joe stumbling slightly like he always walked then falling to the ground dead. Taking a deep breath Phoebe said holding back tears, "Ridikilus" Nothing, she repetaed ot again, "Ridikilus" This time Joe got up and started doing that funny dance he did to a strange song. Phoebe let a few tears out now but laughed and stepped back as someone else got ready. She was pleased that she hda done it but couldn't help feeling sadder than before. |
Patrick stepped up behind Phoebe. When she moved from in front of the boggart it transformed. He saw himself and Katherine only differently. Before the separation. Then out of the blue: the surgeon. The cause of his sorrow everyday. The one thing he had ever regretted or feared was that day in the hospital. "Riddikulus" he enunciated clearly. The surgeon spun around and started waltzing to unheard music. His partner: the surgical knife. He laughed at the idea and left the boggart to someone else before he destroyed it with the wave of laughter threatening to engulf him. The good feeling, however, was short-lived as soon as he had returned to the back of the class the laughter was gone. Instead there was an emptyness. It was familiar yet foreign to him. He had felt this way every single day after the operation. Waking up to it every morning and falling asleep to it every night had brought it to a somewhat dull ache inside. Now, however, it was a sharp jab releasing all repressed emotions and memories. He wanted to leave the class so no-one would see him break down. His feet didn't want to move. The jab was becoming sharper and larger every minute. he had to move. Just go away and not come back. |
"Are you alright" Phoebe said wiping her last tears away as Patrick walked behind her. She could tell that he wasn't. "Don't worry abou it" She said though she didn't think that this would be much help. |
