Charms Class - Lesson One
 

Professor Mao-Macdougal was perched on the large teak desk of the Charms classroom. Her long skirts were hitched up, revealing a hint of boot. It had a heel. Further description of it would include the word: sharp. The professor wore her boots like they were weapons of mass destruction. Should she decide to step on anyone, blood would probably spatter the floor through a hole in the foot.

Beside her were two large books: The Unexpurgated Brothers' Grimm and How Not to Blow Yourself Up On The First Day. She was drumming her fingers across the books irritably as she waited for the first student to enter the class. Black hair shadowed her face, and her eyes were quick and bright like the glitter of knives.

OOC: It is possible that I might have to leave while the class is still going, in the event of that, keep chatting at a minimum.

Kelli walked into the charms classroom and looked around. She figured she was the first one here because only the teacher was in the classroom. Kelli continued to walk in and said "hello" to the professor. She sat down and took out her books, waiting for class to start.

Christy strolled into the classroom. She eyed the professors boots and scurried to a desk in the back. She spotted Nik and smiled a bit before taking her seat. "Nice boots. I want some. I could so scare the firsties." She mumbled to herself.

Rave walked into the Charms classroom and took a seat in the back near Nik and smiled at him. She had wondered what was wrong with him since he had snapped at her in the halls. She'd ask him later.

Brendon walked in and took a sit in the back. He was not like some of the other people who loved to sit in the front. Like the ones who raised their hands for every question. He was just there to be there.

Nicole walked into the classroom, excited for her first lesson. She sat down, and took out a quill. She looked up at the teacher, but quickly looked down. She didn't want to make a wrong move.

Brittany walked into the classroom Ready for class. When she walked in She immediately saw the teacher. She looked the the up and down and notice her very very sharp Boots. Brittany shuddered at what she thought could happen if she was every steped on by them. She didn't want any reason to get that feeling so she came and sat quietly for the time being and waited for the lesson.

Thump walked into the classroom and took a seat,while taking out a book and quill,and waiting for class to start.

Kally walked into the classroom and looked around she was early but who cared. She walked up to an empty seat and sat down.

Brendon seen Krista walk in. He smiled back at her. "Hey." He said. He then nodded and turned around.

Tag gently tucked Randy the rat deep into his book bag, out of sight, before entering his first Charms class. He spotted another Ravenclaw boy--Thump, was his name?--sitting at a desk. He didn't know anybody else, so he might as well start with someone from his own House. Tag took a deep breath, and slid into the desk next to him.

eliza walked in ,excited about starting charms.she sat down at the front of the class.

ferd walked into hte classrom.He saw that some of the students were already there.He walked to a empty seat.he oppened his bag and took his books.

Krista nodded.
" hey..well you ready for class" she said with a alugh as she pulled out her quill and began to doodle on a peice of parchment, just to waste time.

Noticing that someone had slipped into the seat next to him Thump tooks his eyes away from the fearsome looking teacher and turned to the noise,noticing it was a boy and Ravenclaw boy at that he extended his hand and wispered "Hey my names Thump Nixon. Excited about the class?"

"My name Is Fred.Yes I am.Very much."

class she found a seat nearby
her and sat down .

"Hey.Why so nervous? My names Thump,and i know she looks scary" he said looking up at the professor again and shuddering "but i herad she has one of the best, most fun classes so dont worry about it"

"I'm never ready for class." Brendon told Krista. He was not to go at school. He just sat back in his chair.

Tag smiled, relieved that Thump had spoken first. "I'm Tag. Oh--" he received a glare from a 6th year Ravenclaw girl. "I guess I should whisper, the professor might notice", he finished under his breath.

Jordana entered class and as she walked to the back of the room she smiled at the other students. Finding an empty seat, she set her book bag down and sat down. Taking out all the necessary items that she needed from her bag, she set them down and waited for the Professor to begin.

and waited until the class started.

Brittany looked around the class. there were only like four Gryffindors in the classroom at that time." I wondered if Kevan is in this class" she thought to herself. "May he'll come in later."

Fred noticed that Joordana entered teh classrom."Hi Jordana."he said.

Rebecca entered the class and saw Thump, she went and slid next to him while he talked to another Ravenclaw boy. She got out her books and was eager for class to begin.

oh but if there were the class would be packed up by now.

Kalaya entered the charms class quietly and glanced around before spotting Jordana. Quickly she walked over to her and took the seat next to her. As she made sure she had a pencil and paper, as well as her wand, ready and easy to grab she smiled at her. "Hey," she said quietly, not wanting to upset the professor. She had heard many things about her, as well as been in a few of the classes the previous term, and she knew that she did not want to upset her for any reason.

Jordana turned when she heard someone say her name. She wasn't sure if she had ever met him, but she smiled at him just the same. Jordana didn't want to talk much, for fear that the Professor would get upset. When Kal sat next to her she smiled at her and didn't speak. She was sure Kal knew why.

Krista laughed.
" yeah same here. I'm not what you call a scolar in school. I just go casue they make me" Krista said continuing to doodle.
"I just want this to start and finish as soon as posssible" Krista said.

Fred smilled her back.

"Hi Stacey, Hi Jordana, Hi Kalaya," Nicole said quietly, hoping that the proffesor hadn't heard her. She was happy that they were there too, and she hadn't seen them for a little while.

Amanda walked in,eager to start class.

"Yeah that's exactly how I am." Brendon told Krista. He looked around at all the other students.

Markie entered the Charms classroom, excited and yet also nervous. Charms was the class that she was most excited for, and she couldn't wait for her first lesson! Searching the room for an open seat, she finally found one, and sat down, taking out her quill, ink, blank parchment, and school books.

Rebecca looked around Thump to the boy he was talking to,
"Hi, do you know what shes's like", nodding at the professor.

Serena quietly walked into the classroom, eagerly looking forward to her first lesson of the term. As her gaze swept the room, she noticed Evan sitting near the front. Side-stepping a number of excited students, she took a seat next to him, shooting him a quick smile as she removed her supplies. Charms was always an interesting class. Perhaps it was the subject matter, but Serena felt that the teacher was the actual reason for the interesting nature of the class. The professor was definitely one that a student would not want to tangle with. Serena thought knowingly, as she had not failed to witness Professor Mao-Macdougal's wrath at least once before.

Fred noticed thata girl sat next to him."Hello.My name is Fred."

Stacey began to gather the things needed to begin class. Note taking was her specialty along with making sure her quill, along with the matching bottle of ink, was in place. As she rumaged through her bag of goodies for school, she heard someone whisper her name. She gave a smile and a nod of her head in Nicole's direction, being that one hand was holding the bag while the other was still trapped inside.

Noticing Rebecca slipping in next to him Thump wrote on a piece of paper hey nerd with a drawing of a :lol: on it then smiled at her and let out a small chuckle.

Tag glanced up from his conversation with Thump as a pretty girl with glasses sat down beside them. "Who's your friend?" He whispered to Thump. Then without warning, he sneezed at high volume.

"I was talking to an upper classman one day and she told me about her and her class. I cant wait for it to start it should be great"

Nick walked into the classroom in a hurry. He didn't want to be late for class. He took out his quil, some parchment, and his wand. He wonders if they are going to learn a few spells today.

"Oh, thanks but..." Thumps friend had suddenly sneezed so she continued with a little smile and laugh.

Brittany Looked and seen to more Gryffindors come in But Still no-one she knew.

Thump barely got out Beccas' name before Tag sneezed and his eyes darted to the Professor to see if she had heard.

"Good, sounds interesting"

Kally looked around at all the students in her charms class and wndered when they would start.

Nicole saw Nick and went over to sit next to him, taking her stuff with her. "Hi, Nick," she said softly. "I'm so happy you're here." She sat down next to him, and pulled back out her stuff.

Then she saw Brittany. "Hey, Brittany, come over here and sit with us."

Fred saw that nowone is going to speek to him so he sat quietly.

There was a bang on the table as Andi picked up the heavy Brothers Grimm and let it fall again. "Shut up, all of you," she drawled, standing up and straightening her skirt. "Kindly don't babble any more than you absolutely have to. Open displays of idiocy appall me."

Andi snapped her fingers. "I want a definition of the word 'Charm' right now."

saeda had enough space
on her desk and thinking that the proffesor was'nt
looking at her she rested her head on the
desk and put her book right in front of her face,
she rested for a bit until the class started,
she had done this before so no ne would suspect
she was resting.

saeda woke up quickly and thought what the definition of charm was.

"Hi Nicole." said Nick. "I can't wait for class to start."

Brittany Didn't really see anyone from her house that she knew so she decied that she would talk to the other houses. she seen a boy sitting Quietly so she said "Hi My name Is Brittany Dunn."

Fred saw taht the girl is talking to him."Hello.My name is Fred."

Tag put his hand over his mouth a little too late. His cheeks turned bright red as Becca smiled. Inwardly he groaned. Why do I always have to be such an idiot. . .

Rave raised her hand, "The chanting of a magic word or verse; incantation. Or To cast or seem to cast a spell on if used as a verb."

Nick raises his hand and says "A Charm, is a chanting of a word or phrase or verse to cast a spell."

Nicole also raised her hand, and said, "Charms are a type of magic spell used to make objects act in the way you want them to."

Raising his hand Thump said "A charm is usually a phrase that is spoken or written down to achieve a particullar magical effect"

Kally took out her stuff and looked through her book for the definition. She raised her hadn and said "a charm is an incantation...or to cast or seem to cast a spell..if it is used as a verb."

Brittany was just about to start a conversation when she seen the teacher come in so she got very Quiet Very quickly. then she heard Nicoles Offer and went and sat next to her.

Fred saw that the proffesor is in the classrom so he ended the converstation.

Andi did not turn her gaze from the cupboard as she spoke, but her voice snapped like a whip. "Five points from Gryffindor and Ravenclaw respectively for chattering."

"A good explanation," Andi conceded, nodding towards the Ravenclaw. "Five points, Ms. Liu. A Charm is, as Ms. Liu stated, a verbal formula with a magical force, or an object that brings good luck. There are many examples of magic in fairy-tales before the Wizarding and Muggle world grew apart. I want you to flip to the sotry 'Thr Frog Prince'."

Then Brittany raised her hand and said "to affect somebody or something by the use of a magical spell."

kally opened her book to the story and waited for the next set of insructions.

Rave flipped open to the page indicated by the professor and waited for further instruction.

Fred angrily opened the chapter and wated.

Nick quietly flips to the story "The Frog Prince".

and found the story called the frog prince.

Jordana did as the Professor instructed and began searching through her book for the fairy tale. Once she found it she placed her hands on the page so she would not lose her place.

Brittany Opened her Book But very slowly Because she was shocked because she stopped talking when the teacher came in the room But She sat quietly and didn't say a word.

"France and Germany are two of the countries where our most well-known fairytales originate. Both countries have very high magical residue, particularly Germany. Again, many fairy tales have similar characteristics. This story, the Frog Prince, has among it's counterparts, an Italian version." Andi looked around the class to see if anyone actually comprehended. "Tell me, how does the princess break the charm surrounding the frog?"

Thump quickly opend his book to the apropiate page.

Fred pulled his hand into the air and says"It kisses it."

saeda raised her hand.

Kally raised her hand quickly and said "she kisses the frog..professor"

Rave raised her hand again, "She kissed him"
