| Term 12: April - June 2006 Term Twelve: Hendrik's Riddles (Sept. 2058 - June 2059) |

| | What In Merlin's Beard...?! (Term 12)
A bit confused about the plot? Housemates talking about a mysterious something going bump in the night? Here's where you can catch up on happenings around the castle-- Out of Character of course.
That means that unless your student character heard this stuff from other students, your student character doesn't know about it.
Oh, and a reminder to all to only post updates on the school plot here. Chat goes in the school chat thread. Have fun!
-----
The term has begun, with the staff talking amongst themselves of the Sorting Hat, and a food fight amongst the Houses has resulted in all the Houses beginning the term with NEGATIVE house points--a rare occurance indeed. Samea, school poultergist, was last seen singing a cryptic (or nonsensical, take your pick) poem to a student. Is she just fooling around as usual? The Gryffindor Commons have been trashed! And not just the Gryffindor Commons, but it appears that all four common rooms have been upturned. Students have been told to stay in the Great Hall until the staff figures out how bad it is, and who did it. The common rooms are now better than before, but the staff still has no idea who or what did the mess. Strange riddles have been found in the Common rooms, picked up by various students from all the Houses. Each one appears to be different...what does it all mean? Aaaand...Professor Branxton and Headmistress Rae are currently engaged! But there was a small mixup on Professor Lainley's part, who sent out invitations to the staff that Rae and McAiken were engaged. The mistake was cleared up without too much ado, though Lainley passed out when McAiken proposed to her. Rave Stone of Slytherin and Lua Stone of Gryffindor have put their heads together to crack their riddle, as well as Whende of Gryffindor and her small group of friends, including Davina (Hufflepuff), Kay (Ravenclaw) and Elijah (Ravenclaw). Godric's portrait has been sought out by one of the students, and apparently he knows something of the riddle. Where is this all leading to? Update: Headmistress Rae became victim of a Dark artefact, but appears to be recovering and in good health.
Several students have been on the scent of the riddles, the most prominent group including Rave (Slytherin), Lee (Hufflepuff), Lua (Gryffindor), Kay (Ravenclaw), Linnea (Ravenclaw) and Matt (Slytherin). (There were a few more, but this chronicler has since lost track.) Currently the clues have lead them to the Restricted Section of the Library in the dead of night...looking for something. Further update: After being caught and then overpowering the librarian, the group of students have found...THE BOOK. After a 2-3 year absence from notice, the Book has been found. The students then decided to hand the book over to Rae, resulting in a squabble between Lee, Linny and Matt as to who gets to carry it there. Matt appears to be more than he seems to be, with his own hidden agenda...will the students survive the night? Current Weather: Spring? |

We don't have one every term... so I guess you'll have to see if we have one this term.

The headmistress has made her speech. Quote:
"Good day to you all. We've had quite a bit of excitement once again this term, but by good fortune, luck was still on our side. I know many of you are aware of the strange clues that have been found around the school. I myself was only made aware of these clues as of late, and I admit... they had me stumped. To those brave and brilliant students who solved said clues, you have my admiration and thanks. You may not have known where the clues were leading, but your sense of adventure forced you on your way. For the rest of us, I shall reveal what has transpired only very recently."
"It appears that someone, and I dare hazard it was the last Headmaster, Kobus Hendrik... planted clues in each common room. These clues led to a second location, which gave the whereabouts of the fabled Book of Mysteria. You all are aware by now that the book was hidden on the grounds, and no work of myself or any other professor led us to its whereabouts. Hendrik knew this, and he had Samea lead us on our way to finding the clues in order to find the book. His wisdom granted us that only those willing to work together would find the book, theorizing that if each house was involved, those students would be generous and pure of heart. He was almost totally correct."
"What Hendrik did not suspect was that Voldemortist himself would sneak into the school and pose as a student. One of your number was actually Voldemortist, and only through luck and the quick thinking of several students were we able to stop him from escaping with the Book. I am happy to report that Voldemortist has been stopped and handed over to the Ministry, and I have the Book in my possession. It has been hidden until the staff decides what to do with it."
"Now, aside from teh serious things to discuss, we must of course discuss the light hearted. Congratulations to Ravenclaw for your outstanding effort in winning the House Cup this term. I wish you all the happiest of summers, and we will be back here again shortly. To the seventh years, please sign the memory book so that all future generations may remember you fondly. And now... eat and drink up. The time is flying past us."
