The Purple Sleeping Bag Thread

Rae hurried into the Great Hall and eyed the milling students. She hopped up on the dias and held up her hands. "Alright, students... if I could have your attention, please. I'm sure you're aware that something has occured in the Common Rooms. We're currently investigating the disruption and trying to figure out exactly what happened and what we need to do to get you back in there. For now, we'll ask that you sleep here in the Great Hall. Prefects and professors are on duty to make sure that you're safe and following the rules. Any professors who wish to assist in investigating may join me at the staff table."

She clapped her hands and a pile of plush purple sleeping bags appeared.

Nik looked around, and when he turned back to his companions he realized that they had fallen silent. Well, he surmised that tense situations would make anybody behave uncharacteristically. He turned over onto his stomach and watched the scene that was eerily lit with the light of floating candles. "Do you think we will have to stay here much longer?" He asked Fran and Lua, voicing something that brought a deeper meaning. What he really wanted to ask was, did they think the professors would find something in their common rooms and send them home?

Sol walked into the great hall. She saw all the students and though gosh, crowded here! I don't want to sleep with all the others here She saw Nik and grinned to him. "Hey I will sleep outside, do you want to come with me?" She grabed a sleeping bag from the floor and put it in her rucksack. Then she turned and went out.

Nik looked up and grinned when he saw Lua's identical sister, but he was surprised at her invitation. He got up and chased after her, when he finally got to her, he laid a hand on her shoulder, "Sol, I think we should stay in here. It is safer." he said seriously.

[paranoia]

"No, I will not stay here with all the others!" she said and shook her head. "I want to sleep outside. Maybe in the friutsy tree grove. If you want come with me." she said and was gone.

[Nabs]

Nik groaned and turned to the other two girls, "Look, wait here...I don't think it's safe for her to wander around alone. I'll go after her." He said and almost ran out of the hall after Sol. He needed to find a way to persuade her to come back in.

Nic walked into the Great Hall with Astrid. He looked around to find a place where they could talk. After pulling two sleeping bags together he sat down and pointed to the other one for her to sit. "What the matter?" he asked politely.

After following Nic into the Great Hall, she sat on a purple sleeping bag next to his and slid her bookbag at the foot of the sleeping bag. Twisting a loose thread on her robes' pocket, she replied quietly, not really looking at him, "It's just... I can't stop thinking about my brother, Billy... he died a few months ago, and basically it tore my family apart."

"I'm sorry." Nic said as he put his hand on her shoulder. "I never lost anyone close to me, so I can't say I know what your going through. But what I can say is, I don't think he would have wanted you to be miserable."

Amber must not have noticed, but it appeared she had nodded off to sleep for a few minutes. She squinted around the Great Hall in search of Lua. "Oh man...where did she go? she thought as continued her search.

Nikolai wandered back into the great hall and made his way back to where Lua and Fran were still sitting. He sat back down on his sleeping bag and grinned at the two of them, "Lua, your sister nearly burnt down the Tree Grove." He chuckled and lay back down with his hands behind his head, staring up at the ceiling which was dotted with millions of stars.

OOC: oops...timing sucks.

Nik walked into the great hall with Sol, their arms linked and he was smiling smugly for having been able to persuade her to come back with him. He led the way to were Lua and Fran sat and invited Sol to sleep there near them. "Isn't it so much warmer in here?" He asked her playfully, "No need for a fire!"

Blinking, Evan made a motion as if to grab her hand instead, but hearing her mention she'd follow his lead, he thought it fair enough. After a few turns, they found themselves in front of the Great Hall, where he knew he should have been for quite some time now. Turning towards Tina, he arched an eyebrow, as he entered the room almost fed up with the mass of purple. "Would this be a place to your suiting?" Evan grinned, scanning the many faces nearby. He knew the entire school should've been there, but then again he couldn't think of a better place to talk at the moment, with the idea of the impending danger roaming the school. Taking her hand, so they wouldn't get separated in all the commotion, he led her in-between sleeping bags and dozing faces, his mind faraway.

"Yeah it's o.k. here" she said and sat down on her sleeping bag. "I like camp fire though. But the next time I have to aim better" she added with a grin. Sol looked at Fran and Lua and said "Well good that Nik was at my side" she biked to Nik "his Aguamenti spell works well".

"Next time, when it's safer, we can all go camping. And I'll make the fire." he said with a smile, she was so pretty. It was weird that she and Lua could be so alike, he still hadn't gotten over that yet. He smirked arrogantly, "Of course, I've had practice." he said, fingering his wand before slipping it back into his pocket.

Amber noticed Sol being led by Nikolai. She noticed they were heading the rest of the group. "There they are!" she thought. "Hey, guys...what's..." a smell caught her nose.

"Why do you smell like smoke?" she said as she looked at Sol.

Tabby shuffled into the Hall and looked around. The amount of students in here made him nervous. Unfortunantly for him, the only spare bag he could see from where he was standing was a few paces from Nik. He decided that the only thing he could do was walk over to his bag, sit down and cuddle Eugene, Hopeing he wouldn't be seen by alot of people.

Rave walked over from the Slytherin Table and plopped down a few sleeping bags down from Lua and gang.

Looking a bit to her left she spotted Tabby and eugene. "Tabby!" she said waving him over, "There you are. I was worried about you, with what happened to the common rooms and all.''

Tabby smiled when he saw Rave and walked over to her. He didn't mind the fact that she'd just taken the bag he was about to have as he was pleased to see her.

"I'm ok," He said happily, sitting down next to her. "I sent Dru an owl and she told me to talk to you about something. The only thing is...." Tabby paused and clenched his hands together, "It's under my bed. Dru's letter made it sound like it was bad."

Amber giggled to herself at the boys expressionless face, and at the fact that they had been outside. Amber extended her hand in return."How rude of me. My name is Amber. It's a pleasure. she said with a smile. "Sol and Rhea are friends of mine. she informed him.

Nik took her hand in his and gave it a light kiss as he was brought up to do. "Indeed, the pleasure is all mine." He said with a slight twinkle in his eyes, "They're friends of mine,too! Fantastic! We have so much in common already." He said with a light laugh.

Sol looked at Amber and smiled" Hello..well, It was cold outside and thought a lil fire is the right way to get warm." she poked Nik in the side" be nice to her she is my friend!" Sol took Ambers hand so that she could sat down next to her.
