"hi professor light, i'm candace and i'm half muggle and think that i can excelle in your class. i'm soo excited. the only question i have is when will classes start?"

"good afternoon Professor Light I'm Tonya i'm a first year i just cam to introduce myself and to find out when class begins."

"Good vning professor, I'm Cassie, a first year ravenclaw and i was wondering when class starts?"

"hi cassie. are you taking this class to?"

Shan knocked politely on the door to the professor's office, before peeking in.
"Hi professor," the tall, red-head began, "My name is Shan. I just thought I'd come and introduce myself. I haven't had much luck with attendance of classes in the past, due to personal reasons, and I'm hoping that this year will change that. I love Muggle Studies and cannot wait to start lessons."

Meghan walked over to Professor Lights office. This had been her favorite class the year before. It was the only one she didn't struggle in. She knocked on the door to the Professor's office and waited patiently for the others to finish what they were doing.

When the rest of the students cleared out Meghan walked into the room and walked up to the Professor. She stuck her hand out shaking the Professors saying, "Hello Professor I don't know if you remember me, Meghan Champ. How was your summer? I hope it was as eventful as mine."

She smiled waiting for the response of the Professor.

Audra Laudarque, a shy petite girl with straight black hair and violet eyes, places a tentative knock upon the office door of the Muggle Studies professor. Upon hearing a muffled reply, she enters the office of her instructor, Professor Light. The first thing she notices upon entering was the plethora of Muggle contraptions.

I cannot believe zat zis school devotes a whole course to...MUGGLES!, she thought to herself. Beauxbatons would NEVER offer a course over such a subject.

She had come to the office to introduce herself to her instructor. She always wanted to start the year off on the right foot, and this year was no different, especially as she had transferred to a school in her fifth year in a country with a new language. No matter how much she disliked having to take a class about mud- muggles, she meant, she would put a smile on her face and be her same sweet self.

"Excusez-moi, Profesor. I am Audra Laudarque et un fifth year. I used to go to ze French academy, Beauxbatons. I wish to introduce myzelf to you. I am very excited to be starting at zis new school, and I am very excited about taking Muggles Studies! I have never heard of such a subject before. Zey did not offer zis subject at my old school."

Alanna knocked on Professor Light's door. She had loved Muggle studies last year. It had been interactve and interesting. She entered the room when it was empty and said to the Professor, "Hello, Professor, I'm Alanna Temple, and I really loved your class last year and I was wondering what would be covered this term?"

ooc: Ok people, I did my best RPing this to make sense... so if I skipped you somehow or misunderstood your post, please forgive me.

Professor Light jumped up from her desk to welcome the students, very excitied to see that some of the first years had stopped by to visit. She walked over with a big smile and shook hands with the first three girls to enter the room.

"Very nice to meet you, Candice, Tonya, and Cassie. I'm sure you'll all do very well in this class, it's very hands on, and if you try your best, you'll pass with flying colors. Classes will start soon, although I'm not sure when yet, so just keep checking the classroom door and I'll post a notice when the class starts."

Just as she took a breath, another person was at the door. Then another. One introduced themself as Shan, and she waved kindly to both of them. "It's never to late to start learning about the world of Muggles! I'll be looking forward to see you you in class Shan!" She said, giving Shan a nod.

"Your all welcome to stay and make yourselves at home. Feel free to ask about anything, my office is always open."

Slowly the students began to filter out, and she smiled as a girl she finally recognized, Meghan, came through the door. She had always liked Meghan, and hoped she was still planning on taking her class.

Professor Light laughed a little as Meghan reintroduced herself, "Of course I remember you dear, you wrote some magnificent homework responces and you always participated in class. I always I remember people who try their best, and I know you're one of those people!" she finished , winnking at her.

Her brain began to race when Meghan asked about her summer. She had had an eventful summer, but not in the way she would have liked. "The summer break was nice, yes, but I much rather be here teaching you guys! I feel more at home in the wizarding world."

Professor Light moved to the far side of the room and opened a box. It had some little gummy peices of Muggle candy, shaped like bears. "Would you like one? They're quite good!"

Upon this, another 2 girls entered. She quickly said hello to Alanna, a Slytherin girl who had show a lot of liking toward the subject. "Hello Alanna! Thanks for stopping in, it's nice ot see that your students didn't forget you over the summer!" she stopped and laughed, patting her on the shoulder. "Would you like one?" she said offering her the box of the candy as well. "This term will still be hands on, though I'm not sure if it'll be as much fun as sports were. I don't want to spoil it though, so all I can say is, the first class will be rather useful!"

Professor Light offered her hand to the French girl, and gave her a warm, welcoming smile, "Very nice to meet you, Audra. I think you'll really like this course, it will give you a whole different perspective about Muggle Lifestyles, and maybe interest you into finding out more!"

Professor Light went and sat down at her desk again, box of candy still in front of her. She continued talking to the students.

Zis Muggle Studies teacher does not seem as crazy as you would have to be to teach zis course, Audra thought to herself. Maybe the course would not be so bad after all.

Audra decided to press her luck with the teacher and the teacher's welcoming smile. "Professor Light," she paused, "I was wondering when you first took an interest in zis Muggle Studies, and why. We did not have such a subject at my old school, and such a subject seems rahzzer (ooc: rather) odd to me."

"Well, Audra, I've always been interested in Muggles, mostly since I'm Muggle-born myself. I can actually teach almost any subject here, not to brag, but I did rather well in all subjects at school. Except Herbology... but that's a different story..." Professor Light mentally cursed herself for rambling and getting off track. She smiled once again at the girl who seemed like she would fit into Hogwarts very well.

"Basically, I decided to teach Muggle Studies because I feel like I can add a little something to it that a non-muggleborn teacher, as good as they may be, might not be able to get out of a book. You mentioned the subject seeming odd, well, I don't think that's an uncommon thought at all. However, I'd like to think that after learning about Muggles you and everyone who might think Muggles or having a course about them is odd, might change their opinion. With all they have done to overcome not being able to use magic, Muggles are really, well, amazing. That's why we have this course at Hogwarts, it's an attempt to connect with people outside of our little bubble."

She stopped and tilted her head slightly, unsure of whether her explanation was what Audra was looking for, or wanted to hear. She knew that it was odd to have a course all about Muggles, but she could only see benefits from having such a course, and also the need for a course like this.

Audra listened to what Professor Light had said rather carefully. She couldn't believe that a teacher was being so, well, honest, with a student. At Beauxbatons, teachers and class had been all about show and how to make the most refined magic, but teachers never gave a reason for wanting to teach a subject; the teachers taught what was necessary for living in the wizarding world. Here at Hogwarts, teachers taught a subject because they actually cared about what was taught. It might not be useful in the wizarding world, but it would sure be handy as wizards invariably will interact with Muggles at sometime. Maybe Audra was finding her place here, away from the pure-blood environment that her parents stressed was necessary for a proper education. She began to like this professor, not as a Muggle or pure-blood, but as a person befriends another person.

Audra then said "Merci" to the professor, and asked if she could sit and stay a bit longer, just to see who else might pop in to say hello. Maybe this year wasn't going to be so bad after all, if all the professors were as honest and courteous as Julianna Light was.

jasmine enters the office and sees the teacher sitting and talking a couple of other students, and so she feels a little shy.. she is too busy, thinks jasmine..... maybe i should come back later

A Slytherin girl peered into the slightly crowded room. She walked up to the teacher confidently with her shoulder-lenth blond hair swooshing behind her, the blue portion of it falling into her blue eyes.

Taking advantage of the temporary lull in conversation she adressed the pretty young teacher in a frustrated growl, "I bought this last summer in London," she said, brandishing a cd player.

"I bought the cb's to play in it but it doesn't seem to be working. A muggle-born girl in the dormitories said it needed 'Blabberies' in this little hole right here," pointing to the battery compartment on the bottom of the electronic device. "Can you help? I'm a fool for muggle music!" her gruff voice melting into a earnest plea.

should i leave now? jasmine thinks to herself... but in the end she decides to introduce herself to the teacher. And so she goes up to the professor and introduces herself. "hi, i am jasmine and i am a first year at hogwarts. it is a pleasure to meet you! oh! did i mention that i am a muggleborn and so i was wondering when this class is starting, i am very excited bout taking this class.!

Meghan blushed slightly when she mentioned Meghan last year. She smiled slightly when she winked at her. She remembered the last year and the different things they learned in the class. She couldn't wait for it to start up again.

"I can't wait to attend your class." She said with an even bigger smile. "I loved it last year. It was much more relaxing than some of the other classes I was in. The ones that I struggled in I mean." She stopped talking at that point because she had no idea where she was going with it.

She was relieved when she was offered a piece of muggle candy. She smiled and said, "Yes thankyou I would love one." She popped one into her mouth and said, "Mmm these are delicious they remind me of these one muggle candie's I tried when I was in the South of France over break. I can't quite remember what they were called..." She trailed off awkwardly shrugging.

Erin knocked on Professor Light's Office door and went inside. She was surprised to see many other students there. Instead of interrupting, she stood in the corner, hopefully unnoticed, while she waited for her turn to speak with the professor.

Alanna smiled. "Yes, I'll have a candy, thank you!" she said and took a candy, putting it in her pocket. When the Professor took her hand off her shoulder and moved on to the next student, Alanna stepped outside the office. Only then did she put the candy in her mouth.

Professor Light smiled at Audra. "You can stay as long as you would like. Feel free to look around as well, just ask before you touch anything too strange looking!" she said cheerfully, winking at her.

As Professor Light moved back toward her desk, she noticed two other students standing near her door. "Hey there! Don't be shy, come right in! Jasmine, you said you name was, right? Well, it's a pleasure to meet you! I can't wait to see you in class, you can even help the other students out if you'd like, considering you have a background in most everything I'll be teaching. I should be teaching the first lesson in a day or two, so keep your eyes alert for any notes.

Professor Light paused, "Usually I make it a point to post a notice on the common rooms of the students... but it doesn't seem like that will happen this time." she said, shaking her head sadly.

Professor Light moved to the Slytherin girl. "Yes, yes, you need so batteries to run this CD player, however electronics typically don't work well at Hogwarts, so I'll give you some batteries to use once your outside the school." Professor Light moved to her desk and grabbed a package of tubular shaped shiny pieces of metal. She pulled two out pf the box, and handed them to the girl. "I hope that works out for you! I didn't catch your name, though, sorry?" she added turning her head in a questionative way. "It's very nice to meet you!"

Professor Light nodded knowingly with to Meghan as she talked about the stress of classes. "I'm very glad you found this class enjoyable. If you ever need any help of course, in any of your other classes, I have no problem helping you out the best I can. Except herbology... I was simply awful at Herbology. I have a black thumb, I suppose..." Professor Light laughed a little. "As for what type of candy you ate, as much as I love Muggle candies, I'm not very well versed in the different types of candies."

Professor Light saw Alanna leaving and waved gooybye to her. She was such a nice girl. She did a double take to see yet another student at her door. She motioned to the girl, "Come right in, how can I help you? Gee, I feel like a receptionist, greeting all of these people!" she chuckled slightly.

"Hi Proffesor"she said a bit shy,"My name's Olivia and I'm a first year"

Elijah approached Professor Light's office, not really knowing how he was exactly going to ask the question he wanted to ask. He'd never really talked to, let alone introduced himself to her. But why not give it a shot, if it'll get him more involved within the school. Besides; what a better person for the job of assisting Muggle Studies, than a Muggle-born wizard.

He saw that a younger student was already conversing with her; he smiled and with a nod, leaned up against the door and waited until she was available.

A small brown owl flutters up to the office and drops a tiny envelope on the desk.

*Mickey sees the owl enter the office.*

"Verrrrrry interesting."

Professor Light returned into the room, back from that... party? Engagement? Hmmm... Well, she wasn't quite sure what to call it after everything happened, but it was nice to back in somewhere, familiar... her office. No sooner has she sat down than she heard someone else at her door.

"Nice to meet you Olivia! Being a first year is some of the most fun you'll have at Hogwarts, and I hope to see you in Muggle Studies! I have another lesson coming up tonight."
Professor Light noticed a older student leaning against the doorway. "Hello! Feel free to come in... can I help you with something?" Professor Light gave him her usual huge smile and motioned him to come into the room. As she watched him in the doorway, she noticed another boy[mickey] standing in the wall, but he didn't come in.
