Ryan walked in anxious to see his Astronomy Proffesor again, "Hello Proffesor, I was just wondering when classes will be starting and if I can do any extra credit assignments before hand." Ryan asked politely

Amber walked up to her new proffessor. "Hello Proffessor Hutchinson, I'm Amber Fields, a first year. I was wondering what I could do to prepare for class, what I can do for extra homework and assignment, for extra credit, and also I was wondering when classes started." Amber asked.

Professor Hutchinson looked up from the work at her desk to be greeted by two students. She smiled and attentively listened to both their questions before answering.

"Hello Amber and Ryan. Good of both of you to come. Well, the dates for all classes and extra credit assignments will be posted on the Bulletin Board outside of my office beforehand. I'd suggest you both check back there to see if I will have anything posted. Aside from that, I've decided to open up the observation deck in the tower, so you're perfectly welcome to spend some time up there. There's a study area set up and plenty of telescopes for you to use at your leisure. Did any of you have more questions?"

She absent mindedly put her paperwork to the side and patiently waited for the students to answer her.

"i have a question" candace said as she walked through the door,"i'm candace and i was wondering if you new how much homework we might get in this class. not that it really matters of course"

"Good Morning Professor my name is Tonya i'm a first year i just came up to intoduce myself and to find out when classes will begin."

Amber smiled, somewhat nervously, as she was incurably shy. "Thank you Professor. I don't have any other questions. I really look foward to taking your classes." Amber said, then with a 'Have a good day', she left the room to go look at the bulletin board.

"Thankyou Proffesor, I will go up there later tonight in that case, Bye!" Ryan said as he walked towards the door and out of the office

"hello professor i´m vicky and i´m a first year, i don´t have any questions really, i just wanted to introduce myself and tell you that i´m looknig forward to your class and that i hope to learn about the stars because i´m really interested in them, they are so beautiful to me.." she said smiling sweetly

Professor Hutchinson politely nodded as the two students left and two others entered.

"Yes, Candace, I usually like to use some review questions to cover the things we went over in class and also a small essay section for the chance to earn a higher grade. I hope that answers your question accurately enough and I'll be seeing top-notch homework from you.

"Excellent! Welcome to Hogwarts, Vicky and Tonya. Class will begin soon and I'll look forward to seeing you both there. Also, I have the Observation Deck open at anytime for a bit of extra stargazing. Feel free to use it whenever you want to. Were there any other questions from you ladies today?"

"no.. i think that´s everything professor, thanks for your time" she said very politely and exited the room looking forward to her first class..

*Mickey saunter's into the office and stops to look over the chart of the solar system. Wrinkling his brow he runs a finger around the squashed ellipse of Pluto's orbit..*

"Well that's odd. They've left off Persephone."

Drusilla knocks on the door and enters the office with a yellow-and-blue bird on her right shoulder.

"Oh, Professor Hutchinson, so you didn´t leave the school with Professor Münch..." Drusilla hastily disguises the word she had accidentally started to say into a violent fit of coughing, which is handy, because her blushing for being near to slip a wrong word through her mouth can also be blamed on the coughing.

"I´m sorry, Professor, must be allergic to this bird or something." she says after catching her breath again. "I´m not quite sure what to do with him. My cousin is ill and I´ll have to take care of it meanwhile. But that is my problem and sad duty ... What I was saying is I´m glad you didn´t leave school with Professor Borr after all." Drusilla says smiling shyly, as if she was afraid that the next thing she would be saying would be taking too much liberties. "I mean, women often throw their career away when they get married." she adds hastily, not to give the impression she would be criticising Professor´s choice for a husband, even though - in her opinion - Borr might have suited the late "professor" Umbridge very well, but never Professor Hutchinson. She deserves better.

Professor Hutchinson turned her head from the students still in her office to the new visitor and smiled. She still remembered Drusilla from last term and was extremely proud to see the Prefect badge still shining brightly on her robes in addition to the brightly colored bird on her shoulder.

"Ah, Drusilla! Welcome back! Yes, it was most fortunate that Professor Borr and I decided to let things be and stay in the school. It was a...um, better choice for the both of us in the long run, I think."

The lurch in her stomach at Drusilla's mention of Borr made her stop in her seat for just a second. She took a few moments after that to bring her breathing back to normal. Being duped into almost marrying the caretaker of the school was still a little bit too close for comfort for her. Plus, she could probably trace the sudden dislike for the school's cooking and freshly baked cookies from the incident. Meals in Hogsmeade were going to be more of a practice, despite what the Headmistress said about the state of the cooking.

"But, yes. It's a woman's choice to do as they please and I understand that views differ from person to person. It's perfectly understandable for you to feel that way, dear.

"About that bird? It has very bright plumage. And it's your cousin's, you say? Very interesting. If you're having medical problems with it, though, I'd suggest you let it stay at the Magical Creature Hospital with Professor Dainsie. It'll be well taken care of, I assure you."

The professor gestured for the students still remaining to take a seat if they wanted to stick around. No use in getting uncomfortable when there were plenty of chairs ready for service.

Drusilla had been so glad Professor Hutchinson hadn´t left them, that she had completely forgotten the manners. On the other hand, she was the Prefect; would she have to wait for the first years to get their things solved before talking to a Professor? However, she blushes slightly.

"I´m sorry, Professor, I really didn´t notice these students." she says apologetically.

"No medical problems with the bird, I assure you, and I really think I will be showing this bird to Dainsie whenever I´ve got time," Drusilla says looking almost as disapprovingly to the parrot as her owl usually does. "I only think that it might have a little too wide collection of things he is eating. Besides, he´s a bit fat mouthed, if you know what I mean. I have to charm him with Silencing Charm, if I don´t want him to scare people off their robes."

Brianna knocked and walked into the room, "Hello Proffessor," she said, "my name is Brianna, I'm a first year, and I was just wondering when class starts"

Professor Hutchinson smiled and nodded understandingly at Drusilla's apology while carefully eyeing the bird. She listened as the Slytherin student explained the bird's special nuiances and tapped her fingers lightly against her desk in thought.

"Well, birds do tend to be louder than most animals. I'd say a temporary Silencing Charm would definitely do your ears a bit of good seeing as he seems to like to perch right next to them. I could attempt to do it myself, but I wouldn't want to hurt the birdin the process. I doubt your cousin'll appreciate that gesture any.

"Bird or no bird, I'm certainly glad to see you back this term, Drusilla. And still as prefect as well? I knew you'd do well. How was your summer? Did you get to do anything exciting while you were away from Hogwarts?"

At that moment, another student walked into the office and caught Hutchinson's attention.

"Yes, welcome to Hogwarts, Brianna. I hope you'll enjoy it here. My bulletin board would have the information you're asking for, but the first class is set to begin this Friday. I expect I'll see you there. Don't forget your supplies, my dear."

"Thank you Proffesor," said Brianna heading out of the door, "I wish you and my classmates a good day."

Drusilla feels she´s been treated like a child hearing this. She´s already a sixth year - not to mention a Prefect - she had used the temporary silencing charm on the bird herself. She swallows her annoyance, however, when the Professor says she knew she would do well.

She waits patiently when the Professor answers the first year Hufflepuff´s question - What was the matter with first years nowadays, can´t they read? - before starting to tell about her summer.

"Well, actually nothing very exciting. Except we did a bit star investigating with my fian ..." Drusilla blushes suddenly " ... with a friend of mine."

She seems suddenly to be in a hurry, mutters her apologies, and leaves the crowded office.

A small brown owl flutters up to the office and drops a tiny envelope on the desk.

*Mickey sees the owl enter the office.*

"Verrrrrry interesting."
