Mandi wrote down what the Professor had written on the board and then proceeded to fill her cauldron with 500 ml or water and lit the fire under her cauldron so that it would begin to get hot. Then she put in the 5 gm. of Alihosty leaves and let it simmer for 20 mins. After the twenty mins. was up she then removed all the Alihosty leaves, thinking to herself " I better make sure I get them all because I don't want to poison anyone." Then she let it return to a boil, then added the dried billywig stings and erumpant tongue and allowed it to boil another 10 mins., while continuously stirring counterclockwise. "Wow I hope I get this right," she thought to herself. After the 10 mins. was up she allowed it to cool to room temp. and then added the armadillo bile, " Ewww, this smells horrible." She stirred it 5 times, counterclockwise and added the leechjuice and stirred it 20 times, counterclockwise. "Man my arm is gonna wear out at this rate," she laughed. "Wow, I must have done it right because the color is light brown just like he said it would be," she thought to herself. "Well now all I have to do is pour it into the vials and I am done." "Thank goodness". |
Rose checked the time, the 20 minutes were almost up. Rose took the cauldron off the flame, and check the instructions. "Remove all traces of the leaves and return water to a boil," Rose read aloud. She put her hand in the water, but quickly took it out. "Ouch!" Rose rubbed her hand, that water was hot! Rose looked down at her hand, which wasn't burned or anything. After letting the cauldron cool, Rose put her hand in again, this time much more slowly. She picked out all of the Alihosty leaves. Before the next step, she double and triple checked to see if everyone of those leaves were gone. She then placed the cauldron over the flame, and when it started to boil, she added both the billywig stings and the erumpant stings. She stirred counterclockwise. She noticed the time was for 10 minutes. She hoped her arm wouldn't get tired. |

Jacqui read the instructions, set up her cauldron and scales, walked to the ingredients cupboard and looked for some fresh Alihosty leaves, two dried billywig stings, the jar of powdered erumpet tongue, a bottle of armadillo bile, and a bottle of leechjuice. Once she found those ingredients, she walked back to her table, set the things down, grabbed an empy jar, and walked to the sink. She filled the jar up with water, yawning and walked back to her table. As she sat down, she got her measuring cup and her dropper out of her bag. "Right, then. To start the potion!" She said as she measured the water. Once she had five hundred mililetres of water, she poured it into her cauldron. Then she measured the leaves on her scales, untill she was left with five grams of it. Then she threw them into the water and waited. After twenty minutes, Jacqui removed all traces of leaves and added the two billywig stings. She opened the jar of powdered erumpet tongues and took a pinch of the white and red powder out. After she added it to the potion, she picked up a large wooden spoon and continuously stirred counterclockwise. After ten minutes of stirring, Jacqui's arm felt tired. She let the potion settle, measured the armadillo bile, then added the five mililetres of armadillo bile. She picked up the wooden spoon again and stirred the potion five times, counterclockwise. Then she filled her dropper with the leech juice and lined it up with the potion. She added two drops and stirred it twenty times, counterclockwise. She then looked at her potion. It was a light brownish colour. Jacqui poured it into some viles and cleaned up. |

lizzy lit her cauldron and waited for the water to boil. she stewed her alihosty leaves and left to simmer for 20 minutes. lizzy then carefully removed all of the leaves and heated her cauldron further until the water was boiling. she added the dried billywig stings and the erumpant stings. she allowed them to boil for 10 minutes whilst stiring counter- clockwise. lizzy put out her cauldron and left the potion to cool giving her time to copy down the recipie onto a piece of parchment for future refrence. once the potion had cooled, lizzy added the armadillo bile and stirred the potion 5 times, again in a counter- clockwise direction. she then added the leech juice and stirred the potion 20 times counter- clockwise. the potion began to turn a pale brown. lizzy separated her potion into several vials and cleaned up. |
after 20 minutes srimathi added the dried billywig stings and erumpant stings and allowed it to boil for 10 minutes, continuously stirring counterclockwise as instructed.she then allowed the potion to cool to room temperature, then added armadillo bile and stirred it 5 times, counterclockwise. she then added the leechjuice and stirred it 20 times, counterclockwise.her potion was now brown in colour |
Rose got five fresh Alihosty leaves and let them simmer in water for 20 minutes. After removing all traces of the leaves, she returned the water to a boil. Carefully, Rose added 2 dried billywig stings and a pinch of erumpant tongue and stirred it for ten minutes without stopping. Her arms got pretty tired. She tapped her quill to her nose impatiently as she waited for it to cool to room temperature. She added 500 mL of armadillo bile and stirred it five times counterclockwise. Then, Rose added 2 drops of leechjuice and stirred it counterclockwise 20 times. She sighed with relief when she finished. Her potion was a light brown color. Smiling to herself, she put a bit of potion in a vial for storage. |
After copying the instructions from the board, Erin measured out 500 ml of water into her cauldron, and brought it to a simmer. She then added her 5 alihosty leaves in and let them simmer for 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes were up, she fished out the five leaves making sure to get all the little leaf pieces out. She then added 2 billywig stings and a pinch of powdered erumpant tongue and began stirring counterclockwise. After 10 minutes of stirring while the potion boiled, she removed the heat and waited for it to cool. When it was room temperature, she measured 5 ml of armadillo bile and added it to the potion, then stirred 5 times counterclockwise. She then added 2 drops of leechjuice and stirred another 20 times counterclockwise. Her potion ended up being a light brown, and Erin smiled, glad that she had so far survived her second potions lesson. She sat back and waited for futher instructions from the professor. |
Lee carefully placed his cauldron ontop of the fire after Professor Branxton gave them permission to begin. Lee waited until the 500ml of water he had added was a small bit bubbly before he added in the Ailhosty leaves to be stewed. As he waited for the leaves to stew he collected the other ingredients he needed for the potion from his own personal storage of ingredients and helping himself to some of the Professor's student stores. Whilst ten minutes had passed, Lee had decided he would begin powdering erumptant tongue. Now all ingredients were prepared it was just time to add them all in. Twenty long, slow minutes passed and Lee looked up at the board for the next set of instructions. He took a pair of tongs and picked out each of the leaves one by one and sittred the potion to ensure none had been missed by his eyes. Now it was time to add in the dried billywig stings and the pinch of powdered erumptant tongue, which he did. He left it to boil for ten minutes whilst constantly stirring it clockwise through the duration of the time. Lee turned the fire down a small bit so that the potion could cool down to a lower, room temperature before he added in the 5ml armadillo bile and then stirred it anti-clockwise five times like stated on the board. He re-stirred for another twenty times after he added in the two drops of leechjuice. He waited for a few moments before the potion turned the browny colour to prove his success. Once it had, he placed some of the potion into two vials, one for himself and one for the Professor. He gave the Professor his vial and then went back and began tidying up his equipment. |
After 10 minutes, Rose stopped stirring her potion and let it cool to room temperature. Rose added the armadillo bile to the mix and stirred it five time counter clockwise. When she finished, Rose groaned to see she had to stir 20 more times. Rose added the leech juice and began the 20 counterclockwise stirs. When Rose finished, she shook her hand out, finding her arms cramping up. She was thankful to be done. The instructions said the potion should be a light brown, Rose thought hers was more of a pale brown. "Same difference," Rose said to herself. She put the potion in the vial and looked at it, a little uneasy at the results. |

g_g put water and Alihosty leaves in her cauldron. waited for 20 for the Alihosty leaves to properly simmer in the water. she took out the leaves. the water continued to boil as she added dried billywig stings and erumpant tongue. it boiled for 10 mins as she stirred counterclockwise. "My hand is getting tired!" she comlpained to herself as she stirred. As she waited for the potion to cool, she continuouosly massaged her arm. When the potion got to a room temperature, she added armadillo bile. "Now, stir five times, counter clockwise...." she instructed herself. "one... two... three... four...five...there!" then, she added leech juice. she stirred again counterclockwise 20 times. "There all done!!!" she said to herself triumphantly. "But my arm sure does hurt from all that stirring!" she said massaging her arm again. "Potion should be light brown in color..." she read, she looked at her cauldron. "Wow! light brown, such as the professor instructed!" she said smiling. she poured the potion into vials. |
Crystal was glad that her previous answer about Erumpent parts was right. Smiling, she went to the cupboards to gather ingredients that she didn't already have. She came back and after putting the ingredients in order, filled her cauldron up with 500 ml of water, and started a small fire underneath her cauldron. After a few minutes, She brought the boiling water down to a simmer. She weighed the Alihotsy leaves , and satisfied witht the weight, dropped them in the water. " Okay...now I just wait some more." She said and sat back to wait the twenty minutes. While she was wating, she powdered the Erumpent tongue and measured out the armadillo bile. Twenty minutes had passed, and she began taking out all the Alihotsy leaves. Once that task was done and the water returned to a boil she added the pinch of powdered Erumpent tongue and the Billywig stings. She began to stir, and stirred in a counterclockwise direction for the next ten minutes. Her arm was beginning to ache when she finally stopped. She then extinguished the flame, allowing the potion to cool. She poured in the Armadillo Bile, and stirred five times counterclockwise. She added the final ingredient, the leech juice, by dropper. Finally she finished with 20 counterclockwise stirs . She checked her potion and was pleased to find that it was brown in color, as expected. She gathered a few glass vials and poured her potion into them, and waited for Professor Branxton to collect them. |
"Excellent job everyone," he said, nodding as he made a circiut of the class and looked into their cauldrons. "Now, would we care to test our potions? I must warn you that you may not just speak nonsense, but there is the potential you might reveal things you may not want revealed. I will not require anyone to test their potions but, if you would like to, please do so during class where you can receive the antidote," he said, holding up a vial. |
g_g looked around the class and no one seemed to want to try the potion. sh wanted to see what the effects of the potion had on someone, but she absolutely didn't want that someone to be her, so, she thought that that might be the others were thinking. |
Edaj quickly finished copying down everything onto her paper: Dried billiwig stings erumpant tongue alihotsy leaves she pulled out her cauldron and ingredients as she was told and began to make her potion. Quote:
hearing Prof. Branxton speak, Edaj looked up, and thought about trying some of her potion. she deciding it couldn't hurt anything and waited until the other students began testing theirs. |

Drusilla frowns a little hearing this. How will anyone know which of the babbling is pure nonsense, which is true and a revealed secret ... Well, maybe Professors can tell the difference, she thought a bit unsurely. After all, they´ve seen a few more years than us students. Her hand is about to raise but she quickly changes her mind and resists the urge to ask. Drusilla is relieved testing was not required, not only for getting to keep her secrets to herself, but also for the ingredients of the potion ... It wasn´t exactly vegetarian. As a matter of fact, there were surprisingly many animal originated components. She looks curiously around, though, ready to hear some nonsense and - maybe - some secrets, too. |
saeda hearing what the proffeser said tested her potion,it tasted like it was a fizzy drink she suddenly blurted out something which sounded like 'when i first came to hogwarts i camped outside hogwarts with mushrums and everything none of the profs noticed a thing i was all alone in the night the next day early in the morning i sneaked into hogwarts and went to my dormitory.Saeda closed her mouth quickly hoping no one heard her. |
luna listened to the proffessor, only one other student had tried their potion and thinking that maybe she would get some extra points or at least a few minuites of being able to babble without people thinking she was weird. She picked up a vial, as she placed it to her lips he mind did a double take, as if realising that she was actually stupid enough to go and blurt out her secrets, 'I should be one watching' she thaught before shrugging off the feeling and taking a mouthfull of potion. It didnt taste too bad, like a slightly flat fizzy drink that had been left in the sun for an hour. It spread through her body as she felt a slight tingling her houth opened and she burbled something incomprehensible like "itsallmyididntbutIdidntmeanIwillnevergowithhimeve rbutitsallmyfault." luna shook her head thinking 'what was that?' "itsallmyfaultwelost" she burbled out again before hastily placing a hand over her mouth, 'had I really said its all my fault?' she thaught with desperation, "b..b.bb...bb..." she stutterd trying to get her words out, "butIdidntwanttorunhemademe" she babbled. She could feel the potion wearing off slightly as she began to make sense, "I look stupid" she said smiling, at least It would be somthing to talk about that she had babbled a load of nonsense infront of the class. |
candace sat taking all the notes trying to be a good student. |
Rose heard bits and pieces of what the students who tested the potion had said. Since her mind was all over the place, focusing on this bizarre mystery, Rose opted to not test the potion, but she did wonder if it worked. Rose raised her hand. "Professor? I don't wish to test my potion, but I'd like to know if it worked? Is there any way to find that out without trying it?" |
Touy gathered all the ingredients and prepared to start the potion. Stewing the Alihosty leaves in simmering water for 20 minutes after witch she strained the water through a cheese cloth removeing all the leaves bring the water back to a boil. Next Touy added dried billywig stings and erumpant stings allowing them to boil for 10 minutes while she continuously stirred counterclockwise. Touy allowed potion to cool to room temperature, and then add armadillo bile and stir 5 times, counterclockwise. Folloeing this she added leechjuice and stired 20 times, counterclockwise. The potion was be light brown in color. Touy poured the potion into vials. Would she test it? She had to think about it. |
g_g looked at the students who drank their potion. she looked at Saeda who said something about camping out of Hogwarts. "Wonder if thats true?" she asked herself. "No...she can't possibly..." she convinced herself. she also heard another student who said sentences with words stuck together as if it were onle one word. "What?" she asked confused. "What's all her fault?" she wondered. |
Erin was too shy to try out her potion. She was afraid that she would say something stupid. But she watched the other students try their potions, and it didn't seem to bad. Maybe she would try some later...maybe. |
g_g took out some parchment, her inkwell, and her quill and started taking down notes on the effects of the potion. |
Jacqui's mind raced. She stared at her potion. Should she or shouldn't she? She didn't have any secrets... none that she could think of anyway. After what seemed like a week's thought, Jacqui raised the potion to her mouth and drank what tasted like flat fizzy drink. The potion swirled around in her, making her feel car-sick. "My sister has blue dots on her face! Ha ha ha! She poos her pants! Ha ha ha! It stinks out the whole house! Ha ha ha!" Jacqui laughed. "I like fungi! Did you know that some glow in the dark? How cool is that!" She widended her eyes. "I live in the canopy layer of the rainforest!" She could feel the potion bubbling inside her. She looked at the professor and spoke to him. "My mother always said to trick the teachers like Peeves does! She says it's good fun!" The potion suddenly stopped bubbling, then started again. But it felt a bit different. "I didn't mean to! I swear I didn't!" She buried her face in her hands and started to cry. "I didn't want to! But I had to! My worst fear was threatening me! It had a knife! I didn't want to do it, but it made me!" |
