candace hoped that she had done her potion rigth she didn't want to mess up in her first class. She turned off the fire adn stirred the potion, which was now a redish color. "professor when will we be able to try out our potions, if at all?"

Ok, let's hope this'll all work,Jennifer thought to herself.She got all the ingredients together and read through all the instructions one time."Place moonstone in cauldron in water,add water," Jennifer mused to herself."Not too hard."She went through the rest of the directions without much trouble,except for burning herself once. At the end,she placed her wand tip in the potion and chanted,"Coloro!", concentration on a beautiful orange-red color and hoping for the best.She looked around at her classmates, and sat down again to wait till the rest were finished.

Caitlin raised her hand. "So, Professor, when you say that, do you mean that the stronger the ingredients, the more powerful the potion would be? Would that also apply to more fresh ingredients? The more fresh an ingredient, the more powerful the potion?"

"Coloro!" g_g said pointing her wand at the contents of her cauldron. she looked at it. "Yes!" she said as her potion was a succes.

Edaj smiled happily and left the classroom.... ooc: we CAN leave now right? IC: she left with green streaks in her hair.... she was still happy even tho this would only last for not even 2 days.

*Mickey shakes his head slowly.*

"No WAY am Ah ever gonna get this."

Phoebe begian to stir her cauldron it seemed to be working until it went black and starts to smell of rotten eggs. "ehhh. Proffesor, what should I do now?" She asked

Dian entered the classroom. She found another ravenclaw student and went towards him. She asked, "Hi,I'm dian, Ravenclaw. Can I sit down with you?"

Kryz got the neccessary ingredients and started brewing her potion. She placed the moonstone on the cauldron and added the 500 ml water. She boiled it for 5 minutes and then added the belladonna and nettles. After adding it she again boiled it for 5 minutes. She then reduced the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes. After waiting for 5 minutes she stirred it 20 times clockwise and then 20 times counter-clockwise. "All done," she said and placed the potion in a goblet. She dipped the tip of her wand and said the incantation. "Coloro," while concentrating on the color blue. "Now let's try it out," she said as she started to rinse her hair with 200 ml of the potion. After waiting for another 5 minutes she reached for her mirror and instead of seeing jet black hair she saw a blue colored one. "Cool."

Novalus put hi s hand up and asked " Does the strength and effiiciency of the potion also make the difference on how light or dark the colour will be?"

David went to the cubbord and got 500ml of water, 2 g of belladona, 5 g of dried nettles, and a moonstone. He crushed the belladona and powdered the nettles. He put the moonstone in his cauldron and poured in the water. He set his water to a boil with a wave of his wand and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then he put in the nettles and belledona and let it boil for another 5 minutes. Then he sturred it 20 full strokes clockwise and 20 full strokes counter-clockwise. The potion turned clear.

He put it in a goblet, and set the tip of his wand and said "Coloro" concentration on purple. The potion turned purple, "Brilliant," he said.

He put the potion in a vial and waited for the end of class.

Rose wrote everything down the textbook said about the Hair-changing Potion in her notebook. She preferred reading from a notebook instead of a textbook and rewritting it really got it stuck in her mind. After retrieving a moonstone from the front, she got started by placing the moonstone in her cauldron and added 500mL of water. Rose started a fire under her cauldron and waited as the water boiled for five minutes. Then, she added 2 g of crushed belladonna and 5 g of dried, powdered nettles. She let it boil for five minutes as she read through the instructions over and over again.

Rose reduced the heat and let the concoctions simmer for five minutes. The five minutes of simmering ended, and she stirred the potion 20 times clockwise, then 20 times counter-clockwise. Arms aching, Rose poured the clear potion in a goblet. She was surprised with herself. It was clear like it was suppose to be! She got this far with out screwing it up, so hopefully it would turn out nicely.

Sticking her wand tip in the potion, Rose tried to think of the color she wanted her blond hair to turn into. Green, yellow, black, pink, purple, orange, blue-green. Hot pink! She smiled at her choice, and began thinking of hot pink. Her thoughts traveled away from hot pink, and she began thinking about blue. "Coloro," she said absent mindedly. "Oh, candy wrappers!" she exclaimed. Rose waited patiently at her desk for further instructions.

Drusilla takes a look at the Magical Drafts and Potions before getting the moonstone. No snakelike ingredients. She is surprised!

After powdering the nettles and crushing the belladonna she puts the moonstone into the cauldron, adds the water and waits for it to boil.

Suddenly a thought occurs to her. She raises her hand.

"Excuse me, Professor, but does this potion affect also bird feathers?" Drusilla asks.

Kaitlin listened to Drusilla's question and was impressed. If only I could have been more clever, she thought

David began reading about the magical creatures they had studied in Care of Magical Creatures, and writing down notes since he was finished with the potions assignment.

"It depends on the ingredient. Some ingredients are more potent when fresh, others when they've been aged," he answered.

Professor Branxton took out his hankerchief and placed it over his nose and mouth. "I suggest you clean that up and start over," he said, taking out his wand and clearing the mess before the entire dungeon stank.

"The shade, hue, and coloration are entirely dependant on your concentration on the color you want it to be."

"Ah, an excellent question. No, it does not affect bird feathers nor fur. It is strictly for coloring hair."

He stepped up to the front of the classroom. "Now that you've finished brewing your potion, you may test your potion, if you like. However, I will need you all to save a small vial of your potion to hand in, making sure to label the vial with your name and house.

"Homework for today's class will be to write about your experience brewing and testing this potion. If you don't chose to test your potion, please interview one of your fellow classmates and get their reaction. Homework will be due exactly one week from this post.

"You may leave when you are finished."

Kryz placed some of the potion on a small vial labeled it and submit it to the professor and went back to her seat. She then wrote down the homework and left.

g_g looked ather potion. "Please turn scarlet, please, please..." she thought. after a moment...the potion turned red...then scarlet! "Yes!" she thought smiling.

she copied homework and gathered up her stuff...

"Now its time to test my potion." Ebony said as she rinse her hair in 200 mL of potion. After she made a small vial of her potion she started to clean up everything she had. She removed the moonstone frome the cauldron, so it could be use again. By the time she was finish her hair was purple. Ebony submitted her vial with her name and house on it to the Professor and when she got back to her seat she copied down the homework and walked out of classroom.

Excited Ayumi measured out 200mL of the potion to rinse her hair in. And then measured out a small ammount and put it in a vial which she labeled, to be handed in. She then rinsed her hair, on her way back to her seat she dropped the vial off on the Professor's desk. Afraid to look in the mirror she turned to the person next to her. "How does my hair look?" hoping that it turned the apropriate shade of gold.

Sylvia took the remainder of her potion and put it into a vial. Sylvia labeled it and then began her homework.

Tonya poured some of the potion into a vial and labeled it with her name and house and put it on Professor Branxton's desk and cleaned up her desk. And left the classroom.

Alyssa bottled her potion and labelled it with her name and house. She took down her home work and left for her common room.

Drusilla is pleased to hear Professor thought her question was excellent, even though she looks a bit disappointed hearing the potion doesn´t affect bird feathers. She would so have liked to colour her cousin´s bird something more appropriate than yellow-and-blue ... Well, if the effect only lasts 24-48 hours, she would have to brew new potion every other day ... And did she remember right, wasn´t there a new rule about potion brewing saying it´s not allowed outside the classes?

Drusilla fills the vial and divides the remaining potion into two. She turns two thirds of it "Coloro!" deep green and one third "Coloro!" into silver.

She carefully rinses most of her hair with the green stuff, and the remaining third with the silvery potion. While waiting for colour change she turns the potion in the vial black, just in case she wouldn´t like her silverstriped hair.

The hair became ok, so she left the vial with black hair changing potion to Professor Branxton´s desk and left the classroom.
