Luna checked all her ingredients first not wanting to blow up her couldron the first potion lesson into the term. Reading off her instructions she placed the moonstone in her couldron and filled the couldron with 500ml of water.
After boiling the water 5 five minuites she added the belladona and nettles into her couldron. Smiling that she had at least got one part right Luna boiled the mixture for 5 more minuites then reduced the heat and let it simmer for 5 more minuites.
Whilst she waited for the potion to simmer for a few minuites she looked around at the class's work, most of them had different coloured hair by now. Sighing she turned back to her work.
Luna stirred the potion. 20 clockwise then 20 stirrs counter-clockwise. the potion was clear, luna grinned as she poured it into a goblet. she whipped out her wand and thaught of a clolour she would like her hair to be. She placed the tip onto the potion and said the spell "coloro".
after rinsing the potion in her hair she packed her stuff up waiting for the potion to change her hair. after 5 more minuites she smiled as her hair turned dark green.

srimathi was a first year.she watched all the students work on their potions.she went to the professors desk and took all the ingrediants she needed.she started following the instructions on her textbook and put the moonstore in the cauldron and added water as instructed in the book.she let it boil for five minutes and then added the bellona and the nettles and let it boil for five more minutes.then she slowly reduced the heat and began to simmer the cauldron and then started stirring it 20 times clockwise and then 20 times counter clockwise.most of the people had finished the potion by now and were turning their hairs into different colours.srimathi poured her potion in a goblet and concentrating on the colour red she placed her wand tip in the potion and yelled coloro.she then rinsed her hair with the potion and to her astonishment her hair turned red.it was the first potion she had ever made.she saved some of her potion and wrote her name and house on it

Tas listened carefully to all the aswers and wrote everything down to her parchment, then walked up to the cupboard with all the ingridients and took 2 gramms of belladonna, moonstone, a bottle of water and 5 gramms of nettles, carefully measuring everything with the scales.
She returned to her seat and placed the moonstone, then poured the water into the cauldron and started warming it up with her wand until it started boiling.

After the water has been boiling for 5 minutes, Tas crused belladonna and powdered nettles, adding them to the boiling water and waited for 5 more minutes.

5minutes later she reduced heat with her wand and simmered for 5 more minutes, then stirred as it said in the textbook: "20 full strokes clockwise followed by 20 full strokes counter-clockwise"

She took a goblet and placed the clear and now cool potion into it, then dipped the very tip of wand in potion and said loudly "Coloro!" thinking of pink color, then rinsed her hair with the potion and waited for 5 minutes while her hair were changing slowly from dark brown to bright pink.

Cool, she thought looking into a mirror she had.

lizzy was very nervous about her first potions lesson. she took a seat at the back of the class opened her potions book. she took out her cauldron and added the moonstone as directed. she boiled the water for five minutes then added the belladonna and nettles.she bolied for a further 5 minutes and in this time she noticed other students who had successfully brewed thier potions and the remarkable effects they were having. she allowed the potion to simmer on low heat for 5 minutes before begining to stir. she stirred 20 strokes clockwise and then another 20 counter clockwise. to lizzy's delight the potion turned clear and she placed it into a small goblet. lizzy dipped the end of her wand into the potion and thought pink as hard as she could and then she muttered coloro. she applied the potion, rinsed and her hair was now a vivid bubble-gum pink. lizzy smiled as she looked into the mirror. "not bad for my first potions lesson. lizzy realised that she was quite gifted at potion making and new potions would be her favourite subject while in hogwarts. she packed up her things and smiled once more.

Violet came into the classroom, excited to brew her 1st potion. She took a seat in the front of the classroom with her potions book. With a caldron at her side, she began to read the directions given to her in the Potions textbook. "Hmm...thought Violet, as she put the moonstone in and added the 500 ml of water to the cauldron. Violet boiled the water for 5 minutes, and then added the belladonna, (which she had read was highly poisonous, also known as deadly nightshade) and the nettles, which had a strange appearance to them. Violet then boiled what she had for 5 minutes, and then she reduced the heat on the cauldron, and let it simmer for 5 more minutes. After the 5 minutes were over, Violet stirred it 20 full strokes clockwise, and then 20 full strokes counter clockwise. She then placed it in a goblet, surprised that it was clear, and she dipped her wand inside the potion and said, "coloro", as she thought of the color yellow. She then took 200ml of the potion and rinsed her wavy, brown hair in it. After 5 minutes, her hair was blond! Violet left happily with her brown hair, changed to blond. Even though it only lasted about 36 hours, it was cool to have different hair!

Hermy hadn't quite decided what colour to change her hair....she wanted it to be a contrast to her usual self. She thought about it... perhaps a nice shade of blue would be good.

She stood next to her cauldron. Running her finger down the page she read and re-read the instructions, checking that she had laid out her ingredients in the correct order. She liked to work systematically. Placed the moonstone and water into the cauldron and boiled for five minutes, before carefully adding the belldonna (as it is poisonous as she saw from the instructions) and the nettles. During the 10 minutes when the mixture was boiling then simmering, Hermy sat and wrote some notes to help memorise the method, noting the appearance of the potion. She stirred the mixture as directed, before placing the potion in a goblet.

Hermy looked at the potion in the goblet, hoping that she had done everything correctly. She concentrated on a dark - indeed almost black - blue, whilst dipping her wand in the potion and saying "Coloro." She measured 200ml of the potion, and leaning forward, carefully rinsed her hair in it. Whilst waiting for the potion to work, she added a few details to her notes, including how she had focused on the colour.

After the five minutes, Hermy pulled a small mirror out of her bag. Looking at the reflection, she smiled. "Wow," she said aloud. "I love this colour - and my first potion actually worked!"

saeda got started straight away she looked at the mirror it
her hair looked quite amusing.

candace took out her materials and got to work on changing he hair form dirty blond to red.

James began to take evrything out and began.lets see ah got it it says to place some moonstone in cauldron and add water here goes nothing!

candace added the moonstaone and the water and started her potion.

Now to boil water for 5 minutes.James began to put a fire beneath the cauldron.

Crystal took out all of her potion making tools necessary for making the Hair Changing Potion. She then made sure to write down all of the necessary ingredients and brewing instructions on a sheet of parchment for easy access. She hated having to look up again and again for instructions on the board.

" Allright then, let's do this...I hope it comes out well." She first measured out the water and set it aside. Then she dug around her potions supply looking for a moonstone. "Aha! there you are..." she muttered to herself as she found it. She put the stone in the cauldron and added the water. Next she started a small flame under the cauldron to begin boiling the water. " Five minutes..." she timed it, and then went on to gather up the Belladonna and Nettles she would need. At the exact moment five minutes was up, she added the two ingredients. Now all she needed to do was wait again.

When the belladonna and nettles were done boiling, she reduced the heat to simmer them for five minutes more.Five minutes later she checked her notes and she began to stir the potion clockwise , counting out loud to twenty to make sure it was right. She then repeated the process, but stirred counter-clockwise this time. " Hmm...my notes say it should be clear..." she checked, and it was.

" There we go! now...what color should I have?" she pondered for a moment, then decided that she would try for a shade of dusty purplish rose..." I know! Mauve!" She measured out 200 ml of the potion in to a goblet. Then she dipped the tip of her wand in the potion, thinking *mauve mauve mauve* " Coloro!" she said.

*Holly walked up to the desk, grab a moonstone and returned to her seat.
*Holly placed the moonstone at the bottom of the couldron and add the 500mL of water, holly turn on the heat and watched as the water began to boil.
*5 minutes had passed and then holly added the belladonna and nettles to the couldron, and set it to boil for 5 more minutes.
*5 more minutes had passed and holly turned down the heat to simmer, and holly waited 5 minutes.
*Holly then stired the potion 20 full strokes clockwise and then stired it 20 full strokes counter-clockwise.
*Then holly poured the clear potion into a goblet.
*Then dip the very tip of wand in potion and said "Coloro!" while she tought of how she wanted her hair, "Black with red tips" holly thought.
*Holly then rinsed her hair in 200 mL of potion.
*5 minutes later her hair was black with red tips!!!!! Holly jumped up and said "Yes i got it right!".
*Holly rinsed the moonstone of and returned it to the desk.

Caitlin opened up her textbook, read and copied the notes and the committed them to memory. Then she immediately began to follow the instructions. She brought out her needed materials and set to work.

She placed then moonstone in the five hundred millimeters of water and let it boil for five minutes. She then crushed the two grams of belladonna. Next, she took her herbal crusher (given to her by her aunt last year; her aunt had often told her that freshly ground ingredients worked much better) and turned the seven grams of nettles into power. She took the two ingredients, shook them in, and let the potion simmer for another five minutes. Afterwards, she turned down the heat and let it simmer for another five.

She stirred twenty full strokes clock-wise, then twenty more in the opposite direction. The potion remained clear so she poured it into her assigned goblet.

Caitlin dipped the tip of her want into the potion and softly said, “Coloro,” whilst thinking of her natural hair color. She’d dyed it so many times and was much too impatient to let it grow out again, so this was an easier solution to see how it would work.

Caitlin dipped her dark brown hair into the two hundred millimeters of the potion and waited five minutes, and her hair steadily became a light shade of blonde.

Ellen opens her potions text book and drops it, finally she finds Hair- Changing potion and reads from the first.
she puts her cauldron one the fire , then puts moonstone on the cauldron and add some water in it. she looks at her watch and then lets her potion boils for 5 minutes.
after 5 minutes her potion has a bad smell but she adds belladonna and nettles in it.
she looks at her watch again and lets her potion boils for another five minutes.
5 minutes later she looks at her potion again , now her potion was look like lastic and was completely solid, also had a bad smell.
she looks around worried and says:
" Where is professor? oh, no...emmmmmm, who can helps me by my potion? Idid everything right acording to the text book but now its completly solid. some one please help me"

Nelisera had read the directions very carefully before beginning. Now her potion was ready. She carefully rinsed her aburn hair in the potion and waited for it to take affect. When it had, her hair had been succesfully changed to a dark purple. She grinned, she had always wanted to change her hair- color! Perfect, too bad it only lasted 24-48 hours!

Excuse me. Did you not understand my previous posts when I said that just because I am not online to RP doesn't mean that the professor isn't there or is busy? I really don't appreciate you saying my character is busy when I am away, especially after I specifically asked the class at least twice in here, once in my office, and once in the rules NOT to do that.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I don't mind if you talk amongst yourselves while we're brewing the potion if the talk is potions-related and something you think a professor wouldn't mind you doing in class. I do not appreciate having other people RP my character, which includes making him busy or preoccupied. RPing another person's character is an RP faux pas and should be avoided unless you have that person's permission to anticipate their characters actions.

EDIT2: Rave's post just reminded me: I noticed a lot of people trying out their potion and leaving class. Professor Branxton said nothing about trying out your potion when it was done. In fact, he gave no instructions as to what you should do when you are finished. He did answer a question about it and said that if there was time at the end of class, 'we MAY test the potions'. I would really appreciate it if everyone at least attempted to read my posts, even though I know they got lost in the chatter and short posts.

It's also okay to post the brewing of your potion in one long post.

I'm not going to penalize anyone for this stuff since I think most of the people here are first years and aren't really sure how we run things on this site, plus this is all ooc stuff and doesn't affect the RPG at all. This is a learning experience for our characters and our ooc selves so I hope you don't think I'm an ogre for pointing out these things. I'm just trying to make the RP experience fun for everyone. " sorry professor, really its effect is just for 24 hours?"

"The effect lasts 24-48 hours depending on how accurately the potion was brewed and the efficacy or strength of the ingredients used."

Alyssa looked in her cauldron at the remaining potion and waited for the professor to say something else.

Erin was very nervous about brewing her first potion. She read the instructions carefully, then gathered her ingredients. She measured out her water, put the moonstone in the cauldron, and added the water to it. She heated the cauldron until the water and moonstone boiled for 5 minutes. She then added the belladonna and nettles, and boiled the solution for an additional 5 minutes. She reduced the heat to a simmer, and breathed a sigh of relief. 'This isn't too bad so far, you just have to follow the directions,' she thought. After 5 minutes was up, she began the stirring. First 20 times clockwise, then 20 times counter-clockwise. She smiled when her potion ended up being clear, and she scooped it into the goblet beside her. 'hmm... I guess I will make a solution for blue hair' she thought, 'after all, I am a ravenclaw.' She grabbed her wand, and touched it to the potion. She thought 'blue' very hard as she said "Coloro." The potion turned blue, so she sat back and waited for futher instructions.

Amber beant over her cauldron, reading the instructions. She dropped the moonstone into her couldron and filled her cauldron with 500ml of water.
After the water had boiled, 5 five minutes later, Amber added the belladona and nettles into her cauldron. She then boiled the mixture for 5 more minutes then turned down the heat and let it simmer for 5 more minuites.
Amber stirred her potion, 20 clockwise stirs then the same number anti-clockwise. The potion had turned clear. Amber poured it into a goblet and took out her wand and started to think about what kind of colour she wanted to turn her hair. She imagined herself with frosted brown hair....it didn't sound so good. True blonde, Amber thought, that would work. Amber waited for her professor to tell them whether they could try the potion or not.

ooc: sorry i haven't been online in 4 days, so i won't be giving a very "in depth" post because i don't really feel like going back and reading 13 pages of posts, or there abouts.

Edaj dropped the moonstone in the bottom, waiting for it to boil for 5 minutes. she added the belladonna and the nettles into her potion next, waiting yet another 5 minutes after adding the next ingredients. she stirred, 20 times clockwise, 20 counter-clockwise. Edaj mixed her potion up, and thought about what color she would like her hair to be. she saw a bunch of other kids in class with changing hair colors, so she thought she'd try it. but Edaj didn't know if it would work, she hoped it would, and thought, 'green streaks,' and in a few short minutes after finishing her potion, her jet black hair was filled with temporary green streaks. "awesome!" she exclaimed, looking at her reflection. it had worked, apparently she had done it right. she smiled to herself.

Sylvia skimmed her Potion's Textbook for the directions to make the hair changing potion. As soon as Sylvia was done skimming, she made sure her ingrediants were in the exact proportions. Sylvia then dropped the moonstone into the cauldron and waited for it to boil. After 5 min, Sylvia dropped in the nettles and the belladonna and almost began to not pay attention to her potion and start doodling. Sylvia stopped doing so just in time, the potion was not looking as perfect as it did before. Sylvia let it simmer for 5 minutes after she let it boil. She carefully stirred her brew 20 times clockwise and then 20 times counter-clockwise. The potion began to look normal after Sylvia put it in the clear goblet. A strong voice could be heard saying " Coloro!" and if you could read minds, you could tell Sylvia was thinking of only a beautiful forest green. Sylvia dunked her hair into the goblet and after a few minutes you wouldn't even guess that Sylvia's hair was once jet black. She pulled out a mirrior and saw herself. " Awesome! " Sylvia stated not so quietly as she thought she did. Then she remembered that they weren't supposed to try the potion out yet. Oops Sylvia thought silently.
