HoM Lesson III Professor Lainey opened up her door for the final time this term. Today's lesson was the last installment of Thomas Duskurk. Lainey was eager to teach it. While waiting for her students, she took her usual perch on the front of her desk. |
Julia did her James Bond rolls into the History of Magic classroom and looked around. She grinned at her favorite professor and sat right up in front. "Hello Professor Lainey!" she greeted cheerfully as she took out her materials for class. "How are you today?" She beamed and adjusted her Bugs Bunny Cape, giggling quietly. |
"I'm doing pretty good today, Julia. Not bad at all. You still have what I gave you at the beginning of the term?" Lainey asked, as they both waited for more students. |
Linnea walked into HoM and spotted Julia and Lainey. She smiled, "Hello, Professor. Hello Julia, " she said as she took a seat next to Julia. |
Julia glanced into her bag as Lainey spoke and eyed the small box that contained the broken Auror badge, then looked up at the professor. "Of course I do!" she replied cheerfully, just as Linnea entered the room and took a seat next to her. "Hi Linnea," she said with a grin on her face as she casually shoved her bag under desk with her foot. |
Kay walked into the room and slipped quietly into a seat on the other side of Julia. |
Rachel came in to the classroom, nodded at the Professor and sat behind Julia. She grinned. "Hi Julz." She took out her class materials and waited for the other students looking around the room. |
Emma walked into the History of Magic classroom and was not surprised to see no one but Ravenclaws, she giggled as she remembered the points. Maybe, just maybe we'll get both cups this year! Her mind was filled with excitement and happy thoughts as she sat next to Kay. Emma was particularly eager to get on with this next lesson, her head had been filled and left with all these questions and mysteries. She quickly took out her parchment and quill. |
Lee entered the last lesson of History of Magic reluctantly like the previous one. He took a seat in the far back and swung on it. |
Teresa walked in she relized at this point in time she was the only Gryff she blinked then silently struting to the front row on the opsiteside of the room then were the rest were " Howdy Proffesor" she said befor sitting down and takeing out her books she looked over at the strage ravenclaw named julie with the bugs bunny cape she had seen a couple days befor by the lake, and raised a eyebrow then turend back around to face the front |
saeda walked into the classroom she soon found out that she was the first slytherin here and that she was also early. |
Lainey gave Julia a wink before standing up. "Welcome everyone. Good to see you all again. Let's get right into it. I know you all want to visit with one another before term ends and not be stuck in a history classroom." Lainey walked in the front of the class, back and forth. "So where did we get to? I believe Thomas was just about to graduate Hogwarts. I can say with certainty that he did. And, he was sent out into the world. Do any of you have a guess as to what job he chose? Hmm?" |
was he a minister or a merchant? |
"No... not a minister of a merchant," Lainey laughed. "Try again." |
ok umm what about an assistant? saeda asked. |
"Did he want to be a professor, Professor?" Linnea asked raising her hand. |
The 1st year Ravenclaw was sitting in the corner of the classroom, paying full attention to the professor in-front. Tesija had already suspected who Thomas was nowadays, and according to that, she compared him with his past 'twin', hoping for their similarities after Hogwarts. "My guess is, he began working at the Knockturn Alley and then gathered a group of followers." Tesija spoke, looking at professor and the class, in a question form. |
Quote:
"Not an assistant. Thomas was his own boss," Lainey winked. "And he wasn't a shopkeeper - though the Knockturn Alley guess is a very good one." She then nodded over to Linny. "That's what he eventually became. But before that he was a simple Ministry worker. Three guesses on what department!" |
Kay raised her hand. "Was it the Department of Mysteries?" she asked. |
So he didn't work at the Knockturn Alley, but was a simple worker in the Ministry...Hmmm... Tesija thought on which department, when a Ravenclaw student raised her hand and guessed that it might have been the Department of Mysteries. Sounded very realistic and appropriate for Thomas, but perhaps too logical. "...or maybe the Department of Magical Law Enforcement?" Tesija added in a guess, thinking that the Department of Magical Law Enforcement would be advantageous for Thomas. |
is it the ministry of magic saeda asked. |
"It was the Department of Mysteries. He was, in my opinion, most likely trying to dig for information. Study and bid his time until he could come back and do what he wanted to do: Teach. Ten points to whoever can tell me what class he was set upon teaching here..." |
Kay raised her hand again. "I would guess that he was intent on teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts." |
lizzy agreed with kay. it seemed as though thomas would want to be as closely associated with the dark arts as possible. |
Amber listened closely to Kay's answer. Yes, that was what she thought, too. She hoped it was right, for she dearly wanted the points for Ravenclaw. |
