Brittany muttered "lumos" under her breath and immediatly her wand glowed at the tip. Creeping forward slowly she followed the small groups of students in front of her. Brittany was now gripping her wand so tightly her hands were starting to sweat. Her wand illuminated small patches of light before her but gave off an eerie feeling. Shivering slightly she slid forward into the dark cave. |
Whende walked slowly into the cave. She didn't know any spells to light her wand, so she just used the light from everybody else's to see. Soon after she'd started into the cave, she grew more adventurous and started skipping away in another direction, but didn't go so far that she couldn't see anymore. |
Lainey whipped around, saw Julia trying to scare, and then tried to bite her fingers off. "Good way to lose fingers, missy." Lainey winked at her and came to the place she was looking for. "Class, come up here." She pointed to an adjacent wall where several symbols had been painted. Most of them looked like snakes. Most likely some pranksters from the school from years ago. "Creepy, huh?" Lainey moved back to let the class move in and see. |
Whende skipped over to the place that Professor Lainey had pointed out. She looked at the wall and tried to conceal her smile, which was pretty pointless as the darkness covered it anyway. She found the symbols more interesting than creepy. |
Rose made her way to the group and looked at the painted symbols. She felt a chill run up her spine. She was not a brave person, and Rose knew she wouldn't be sleeping tonight |
Brittany turned around and wandered over to where Professor Lainey was pointing. She held her wand up so the light hit the symbols on the wall. Brittany jumped at the sight of snake paintings on the wall and backed away. She watched the other students look at the symbols from a distance. |

"I do not think these are by the hand of Thomas, no. They don't seem to hold any meaning. My guesses are leaning towards some Slytherin pranksters from the school." Lainey smiled. She was scarying the daylights out of her class. Not on purpose of course, but she couldn't definitely see they we're on edge. She'd definitely be taking them back to the castle soon. |
Brittany nervously played with her necklace and fidgeted with her wand. Hopping from one foot to another she asked in almost a whisper, "And y-you're sure that these," she pointed shakily to the symbols, "A-are most defiently pranks?" |
g_g had a spine tingling feeling. "Whoa...." was all she could say.... |
Sebastian peered at the drawings from the distance. He had an eerie feeling that something was not right with this cave, that is was cursed. The specter had hissed and there were snakes on the walls. Those two drew far too close to each other to be mere coincidence. |
g_g thought about the stiry Professor Lainey told. "A finer and the diary....surely he wasn't trying to reincarnate anything or anyone?" she gulped at her thought. "I'm scaring myself..." |

Blinking up at Lainey, she shrugs and looks at the other students. She giggles quietly at one Ravenclaw in particular that looked very spooked. Resisting the urge to make her even more jumpy, she yawns and wanders around the cave, this time on her own and without Lainey. |

Mr. Thorn, having followed them all into the cave after telling Sabertooth to stay put, he made his way over to the cave wall Lainey had pointed out to them and took a closer look at the symbols. "Professor," he murmured quietly standing near Lainey so no one else could over-hear, "Perhaps we ought not to be here, if the symbols on this wall were in fact made by that boy and with what might have occurred here... I just don't have quite a good feeling about it, more so because of the creatures that live in this forest than because of that." He looked over his shoulder to the students, taking note that some of them looked frightened, then looked back to Lainey. "Not to step on your toes or anything of course ma'am, just saying..." |
srimathi continued to explore the cave in spite of professor thorn''s objections.she muttered lumous and went around the cave walls for the symbols the professor had told |
Phoebe was getting nervous, she was still really interested. "Proffesor?" She asked. "Are there many caves in the forest?" She said wondering if they could see some more. |
lizzy stared at the creepy paintings on the wall. they made her shiver. lizzy longed to go back to the castle but this was the most interestinglesson she had experienced so far at hogwarts and lizzy was determined not to miss it. |

Whende, sitting in a corner of the cave, watching the other students walk around, heard something about clues, but the echoes of other people made it hard to hear exact words. Curse my stupid, eavesdropping ears... they're making it hard to break this habit. Debating quietly with herself, she finally stood up and walked over to the nearby group, her legs moving almost mechanically. "Erm, I... well, it... er," she said, her words rolling over in her mouth when she'd reached the group. She finally decided just to be quiet and stand there. She probably seemed like a complete and total idiot, but she didn't mind, that happened a lot. |

Since you mention it, I suppose you found one of them?" She glanced at the Gryffindor girl who just approached them. She looked back to Lee and Matt, let them decide if they would talk to the Gryffindor. |
Lainey raised her eyebrows at Thorn. "We're safe. I promise." She laughed and then moved back away from the wall to go in out of her students. She silently counted them to make sure they hadn't lost anyone so far. "There are other caves in the forest. Lots, actually," Lainey answered on her way back towards the mouth of the cave. "I know this isn't the work of Thomas because it's too cliche. It's not nearly interesting enough or mysterious. He wouldn't be so messy." Lainey leaned to the young Ravenclaw that had asked, "And yes, in most ways, he is still alive." Lainey winked at her, and clapped her hands together. "Class, it's getting late and we don't want to be caught in the forest at night. So, if you will get one last look, and I mean last look, and let's return back to the castle." |
Lee creeped further into the cave where it became darker and darker until eventually he couldnt even see any of his classmates. He snickered to himself ready to cause a fuss. He cried out to the cave to the non visible students, "HELLLLPP MEEEEE!!!! THOMAS IS HERE!!!!!!! ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!! HEEEEEEEELLL..." he made a muffled sound to finish off his cry with the help of shoving his sleeve into his mouth. He couldnt help but laugh quietly into himself. |
