Lua noticed someone very familiar (ooc: Tina), she walked up to her and poked her arm "its about time you payed attention eh" she whispered as she sped her paste to walk next to her, still studying her dark surroundings. |
Lainey blushed. She had been playing like a child with her students in front of another professor. But, with her head still bandaged from her last embarrassing fiasco, she didn't really have any respect to lose with the new gameskeeper. "By all means, please do join us. We're just going up to a little cave at the edge of the stream. You know the one I speak of?" Lainey reached down to rub his puppy's ears and kept the pace going. She wanted to be there before the sun went down. |

"It isn't so bad in here," she mused, if only it weren't for the animals....er, what kind of animals are in here?" she asked as she spotted the Slytherin boy who knew all the answers. "You were talking to him in class," she said to Lee, well DUH, she thought, he'd know that, "what about, if you don't mind me asking?" |
"Pretty fluffy bunnies and squirrels live in this forest of course," Lee said sarcastically to Linny sticking his tongue out at her. Lee turned to face Matt as Linny mentioned him and then looked back round at her, "Well he was just asking about why I was being nasty to Lainey is all." Lee shrugged and watched Mr Thorn and Lainey. |
Mr. Thorn gave the Professor a wide smile and kept up alongside her, Sabertooth still following at his heels. “Thank you ma’am. I do know of that cave, yes.” He replied, “I might have stumbled across it when- Ah…” Not wanting to announce that he had entered into the forest a few times as a student back in his day, he said instead, “In a few of my explorations of the Grounds here as of recent.” |
Julia watches another professor join the class and walk right in front of her, him not obviously noticing that he shoved her out of the way. Lowering her eyebrows, Julia mumbles quietly and walks on the other side of Lainey, eyeing the other professor. She glances up at her Head of House, wondering what she would do if Julia 'accidently' tripped the man. As the class walks together, she quietly plots. |
As Matt walked along, he noticed the Hufflepuff boy from before with a Ravenclaw girl who kept glancing back at him. He walked quicker for a few steps to catch up to them. "You want something?" he asked, not unkindly or irritated in the least. |
Linnea laughed and poked Lee's side as he teased her. "Ah" she said as response to his treatment of Lainey. They'd work it out themselves, she was sure of it. Suddenly there was a voice beside them and Linnea jumped slightly, startled. It was that Slytherin boy she had, rather rudely, pointed/looked at. "I just hadn't seen you around is all," Linnea said in reply, "I was wondering what you and Lee here had been discussing. Although, I think it's amazing you know all the answers to the questions Lainey has been asking. I know I haven't heard anything about this Thomas. How do you know so much?" She inquired. She was inquisitive, and knew that curiosity was more likely to save you rather than kill you. |

Tina smiled and raised an eyebrow as Lua walked over. "Paid attention?" she asked, teasingly. Yes, so it seemed that Tina almost always had something else on her mind but she couldn't help it. Her thoughts consisted many questions...hopefully she'd get some answers to them. Tina continued walking at a steady pace, her eyes lingering around the other students. |
lizzy followed the professor even further into the forest. the sky began to darken and the trail dimmed so lizzy raised her wand like a torch before her so she could see the other students and the professors up ahead. |
Emma was shaking slightly as she wasn't entirely sure that this little adventure was entirely safe, even if Professor Lainey was one of her favorite teachers. Nonetheless, she followed quietly behind, looking around her every few seconds. This dark forest did not seem very friendly to her, and she couldn't understand how students had the guts to come in here alone. And with all that was happening with those clues and the fact that the young man they were now studying was possibly -and very probably- Lord Voldemortist... It just didn't feel right. But Emma was not one to skip on adventures like these, besides, she could show it off later. |
While Mr. Thorn walked beside Professor Lainey, making an effort not to trip over his large pup that was trotting underfoot, he looked over to the Ravenclaw lass walking alongside Lainey on the flip side; judging by the look upon her face he could tell that something was bothering her, “Something the matter dear?” He asked in a sincere, concerned tone. As the trees began to thicken overhead, blocking out most of the sun, making the path dim as they made their way farther into the forest, Mr. Thorn extracted his wand and gave it a little jab then held it out in-front of him to light the path ahead. |

candace walked along trying to hear over the chatter of her fellow students as they walked around the grounds. |

The cave came into sight, most of the light was shaded now, and the stream could just be heard over the sounds of the footsteps. Lainey, quite elegantly, lit a small fire near the mouth of the cave. "Julia, collect some rocks if you will to keep the fire at bay. The rest of you should try and find something to sit on around the fire." Lainey went for an old stump and rolled it over towards the fire. "A good stump will do! Hurry now and I'll tell a little more on Thomas." Lainey slipped her shoes off to warm her feet by the fire and watched her class scurry around. "Don't go too far looking though!" |
Whende looked around her for a moment, then shrugged and plopped down on the ground, shivering slightly as snow soaked her legs. It would be fine, just as long as she stayed as close to the fire as possible. |
"Well it appears we are stopping here," Lee said answering Matt's question. Lee removed his wand from his robes, "Wingardrium Leviosa!" Lee said levitating three other stumps to his side for himself, Linny and matt to sit upon. |
Julia approaches the cave and peers into it. It was really dirty, though that was expected. Looking over at Lainey, she nods and walks away from the cave entrance. "Okay, professor!" she replies quite cheerfully, despite the fact that she had just been in a plotting mood because of Thorn. She wanders around outside, gathering up her rocks, and wondering if Lainey asked her to do this job because Julia was special, or if she wanted to keep her busy so that she wouldn't harm the man in any way. After a few minutes of gathering rocks, she peers around the forest. It had started to get a little bit darker now, and that made Julia want to go on an adventure. Taking in a deep breath of fresh air, she walks towards the campfire with the rocks. She puts them around the fire, then grabs a rather large nearby log and sets it down a few feet from Lainey, then sits on it. Then Julia just stares into the fire, her mind racing. |
"Thanks," Matt replied, sitting down on the stump and looking toward the professor. He was actually quite surprised so much was known about Thomas Duskurk. |
Brittany quietly sat down on a dead log nearby and fiddled with her thumbs. The forest looked very errie at this time and she would not like to be stranded here...the very thought sent chills down her spine. Switching her position on her log, Brittany looked at the vivid dancing firelight that reflected on all the dark trees and into the dense wood of darkness. She slid down farther on the log more toward the fire. |
Mr. Thorn shrugged and gave a small sigh as the Ravenclaw girl ignored him, figuring it best to not press the matter any further as she seemed to not want to talk, he continued walking in silence. When they had all arrived at the cave, Salem listened to Professor Lainey’s instructions, smiling as he did so. At the mention of finding something to sit on, he looked around the clearing; spotting a small boulder, which he transfigured into a nice stump with a hollow center and rolled it close to the fire. He sat down and gave a small whistle in call to Sabertooth who trotted over and laid down to the right of him, Salem stared into the bright, dancing flames for a good while, allowing his mind to wander a bit as he did. |
Sitting as far away from the fire as she could while still in hearing distance of Professor Lainey, Alanna found a rock that was fairly flat and positioned herself comfortably on it. |
Erin rolled a rock somewhat close to the fire and sat down on it, ready to get warm and listen to the story. |
Linnea shrugged as the boy responded to her, she smiled at Lee, "Thank you, Lee," she said in response to the stumps he had gotten as she sat down on one and looked around. "I wonder why we stopped here?" |
