Flying Third Lesson
 

Paul walked out onto the pitch again and began setting out brooms and balls and what not. The rain had lightened up into just a small drizzle. He stood and waited for the students to show up.




OOC: Sorry everyone it's been a pretty bad week, so I completely forgot about class! Don't worry, it'll be open for a while.

srimathi walked down the quidditch pitch.
hello professor.can i help???? she asked

saeda scurried into the pitch
happily can i assist you both
saeda asked?.

Davina came down to the pitch for her third lesson."Hey Professor!"she said smiling at him.Flying lessons was her favourite class apart from DADA.

hi im srimathi
she said to the girl.we could help you together professor she said to the professor

Paul nodded politely to the students. "Hello there. No, no. I'm fine meself. Just grab a broom and get comfortable until the other students arrive."

ok professor
hi, erm shall we fly together then???//////
she really wanted to help him.
she grabbed a broom and began to do laps around the pitch
occ:-is that what you said??fly noe??/

saeda heard the proffesor
say she could get an early start
so saeda mounted on her broom and flew
round in a circle at the same speed as
srimathi,she tried to go faster than the other girl
as if this was a race.

Paul looked at the stduents as they began flying around. "Hey now there, I didn't mean start flyin' around. Why don't ye just relax until the class starts, but don't fly around there, ok?"

srimathi began to increase her speed to raise saeda.she saw that the other girl was left alone so went towards her and introduced herself
hi im srimathi

oh ok saeda replied
sitting down quietly.So proffesor what
are we doing today?she asked.

srimathi heard the professor and came down

hi srimathi im saeda
she said smiling happily.
Why dont you sit down here
saeda said to srimathi pointing to a patch of grass.

ok said srimathi she walked towards saeda and sat down

So what have you been up to,
at hogwarts saeda asked.

Marissa walked onto the quitage pitch. "Hello professor!" she said with a smile.

Melany walked to the pitch and sat down on the grass, waiting for class to start.

Allie strolled out onto the pitch. She waited excitedly for the class to begin. She looked around and saw afew people also waiting.

Hermy walked out onto the pitch smiling, she loved learning how to fly and the fact that today's drizzly weather was 100% better than that of the last lesson made her feel even more cheerful. Noticing others waiting, she joined the small group and taking a small band off her wrist, tied up her hair so that it wouldn't distract her whilst in the air.

Seeing that most of the students that were going to show up had arrived, Paul stepped to the middle of the pitch, broom in hand and addressed them. "Alright then everyone, I'm glad enough that the term has been as good as it has to everyone. Now then, today we'll be learning the final lesson of flying basics: flying with one hand." He mounted his broom, and motioned for everyone to do the same.
"Now then. Controlling the broom with one hand is important for playing quidditch as well as being able to fly while say, carrying groceries. It's easy enough." He held his broom with only one hand. "You simply grab the broom with whichever your better hand is, I'm a leftie, so. Then keep yer other hand free. Now, I want everyone to try it and make a few laps around the pitch. Go slowly and no playin' about. I don't want anyone getting hurt. Are there any questions then?"

Davina mounted her broom and kicked off,holding on with one hand.Her right hand.She began flying off at a moderate pace down the pitch.Before gradually picking up speed.

Marissa mounted her broom, went into the air and than slowly let go 1 hand. She wobbled a bit at first and than was very steady. She did a lap around the pitch.

Erin nervously kicked off the ground and let go with her left hand. She began to move forward very slowly, trying to get the feel for controlling the broom with one hand.

Hermy got onto her broom as she had been taught previously, and hovered just above the ground as she decided what hand to use. She was naturally left handed, but played many sports right-handed. Thining about Quidditch, she decided to try and leave her left hand free, as this would be the most likely hand that she would use for passing or holding the bat with if she were to try out next term. She leant forward slightly to pick up a little pace, and carefully manouvred around the pitch using only the one hand.

Edaj climbed onto her broom and flew in circles around the pitch, getting higher and higher with each pass. she took one hand off, the one she'd hold her beater's bat in if she mad the team next term, and used it for balancing while she flew.

Solitaire carefully lifted off the ground with only her left hand. Beginnning to fly, she sighed. She began to fly.

Melany mounted her broom and gripped it tightly with her left hand. she pushed of the ground and want slowly around the pitch and gained speed with each lap.

"sorry Im late professor" Kristen said as ran down the pitch. Just as she was about to grab a broom she hit a patch of mud and fell. She stood up and looked at her knees that were now covered in mud. Kristen grabbed a broom,mounted and sprung into the air in a matter of about two minutes. As she rose into the air she leaned forward gaining speed slowly as she made her first lap around the pitch feeling the misty rain gently touch her cheeks.

Allie mounted onto her broom and placed both hands on. She flew up then let go of her right hand. She started to accelerate shakily around the pitch on one hand. Then she began to speed up, gaining her control of the broom. yes! I got it! she started to dart around the pitch.

candace mounted her broom and raised into the air.

Paul nodded and flew around carefully, watching the students. "Alright, it looks as though most of ye have gotten the hang of it. Now then, what we're going to do is simple enough. I want everyone to move to the center of the pitch. Ye'll notice I've put some flexible flags halfway between here and the far end of the pitch. I'd like everyone to take turns flying towards them, slowly, (he made certain to stress this last point) and grab a pole from the ground."
He demostrated by flying towards the poles, grabbing one with his free hand, and returning to the middle of the pitch. "Does everyone understand?"

Hermy nodded to show that she had understood, and changed position slightly so that so was more comfortable on the broom. Leaving her left arm free, she gradually picked up a little speed and flew out to the flag to her left. Carefully turning around it, she picked it up and took it back to the centre, watching the others as she waited to go again.

Phoebe mounted her broom and pushed off easily. Now was the hard part, everyone else was doing so well. She slowly took one hand off and the broom started to wobble. She concentrated hard and started to steady the broom, occasionaly putting her hand back on the broom. As she looked around Phoebe could tell that the others were all pretty good flyers and she began to notice herself wobblying. Hearing the proffesor Phoebe began to slowly fly in towards the poles. After Hermy had gone, Phoebe went slowly turningg finally reaching the pole. She stopped grabbed it and tried her best on the way back. She didn't wobble and couldn't help but smile as she had already improved.

the pole she grabbed the flag with her free
hand she wobbled a bit then she returned back
to the middle of the pitch wondering if she done well.

Kristen slowed down and watched as the others made their way down the pitch. She took a deep breath and brushed a strand of her dark brunette hair out her eyes. The she released her left hand from the broom and made her way to the other flag. She Slightly wobbled but rebalanced herself and kept going making it safely to the other end

Erin nodded and made her way towards the poles with one hand. She slowly grabed one with her free hand, turned around, and headed back towards the the middle of the pitch.

Paull nodded approvingly as he flew back and forth, watching the students. "Excellent! Everyone's doing grand by themselves there. We'll let the rest of the students finish up then, then I'll say a few more words."

Phoebe watched as the others flew. She was pleased her go was over.

Davina did as the professor had instructed.She made sure to go slow so she got everything right.After finishing her task,she hovered a bit watching everyone else.

Paul nodded approvingly then clapped his hands together loudly to get everyone's attention. "Grand everyone just grand. Now then there, I'll post some points in a bit here, otherwise feel free to go back to yer dorms and relax a bit, ye all did very well."
