DADA Class 3 Althea hurried down to the DADA room to set up. With the Headmistress unavialable, someone had to instruct her class. She had a bag of items with her and a box of jars. She knew nothing of DADA, but figured if it was defense, she could get these students to at least think before doing something stupid. She unlocked the door to the classroom and set the box carefully on the desk before removing her bag and sitting in the chair, awaiting the students. |
Tonya walked into the DADA classroom and noticed that the profesor wasn't there but the nurse was, she put her stuff down on a desk, and turned to the nurse. "Good Afternoon, would like anyhelp setting up?" |
Julia does her James Bond rolls into the DADA classroom, and glances around. Second one here. Why am I always so early? she thinks, shaking her head slowly. Shrugging after a moment, Julia takes a seat towards the middle of the classroom. She takes out her materials for class and looks up at Professor Ra-... Raising an eyebrow, Julia eyes the woman at the front of the room. 'Who the heck are you?' was what she wanted to ask, but instead she decided to go with, "Where's Professor Rae?" After a moment or two of watching the person at the front of the room, her mouth drops slightly. Isn't she that school nurse who works for the Ministry? Sighing, she mumbles quietly because doesn't trust people from the Ministry at all. |
Whende skipped into class, knowing that a classroom was usually one of the most people filled rooms in the whole school. She'd never be left by herself in a classroom. She set her bag on a desk and sat down, looking toward the front. At first she'd expected to see Professor Rae sitting at her desk, and smiling out at the class. But that expectation was quickly proved wrong. Instead she saw the school nurse. "Erm, where's Professor Rae?" she asked curiously. |
Ebony walked into the classroom. "Hi Profes..." She started to say, but stopped when she saw that it was the Nurse and not the Professor. Ebony saw Tonya and walked over to her. "Can I sit with you?" she asked. |
Althea nodded to each student in turn and eyed one enthusiastic girl rolling into the classroom. "As soon as your classmates arrive, I will begin class." she answered, ignoring the queries on Headmistress Rae right at this moment. She did not want to repeat herself. |
Julia blinks as she notices the woman eye her. Staring for her moment with a look that said You better watch yourself, or you'll be pelted with carrots, she eyes her right back. Grinning slickly to herself, Julia decided this class was going to be a lot of fun for someone like herself. She glances into her bag, and eyes her numerous pranks. Shutting her bag immediately, she looks up at the person who had not answered her question. Mumbling quietly again, Julia straightens her Bugs Bunny Cape and prepares for a class full of chaos. |
Linnea entered the classroom and looked startled when she saw not Rae but another woman seated at Rae's desk. She was confused, where was Rae? There had been rumours about her and Branxton, but Rae wouldn't just leave them. Would she? She bit her lip as she remembered how Hendrik disappeared four years ago. She quickly went over and sat next to Julia, who, for some reason, had her bunny cape up.... |
Tonya turned to Ebony "Sure have a seat." |
Ebony sat down and took out the things she would need for the class. "What do you think happened to the Professor?" she asked Tonya. |
g_g went inside and took a seat in the third row. Professor Rae wasn't there. "She's still in the hospital wing?"she thought. |
Rose stumbled into the classroom and took a seat next to Whende. "Mind if I sit here?" she asked. |
"No, I don't mind," Whende said, smiling. "Actually, I'd like it if you sat here," she added. She set her bag on the ground next to her and leaned on her desk, propped up by her elbows. "So... what is a winkerloan?" |
"Why it's a pink sea creature. It uses its pink scale to protect itself. But don't believe anything that Luna Slytherin girl says. They are pink! Not purple," Rose replied, smiling. She twirled her hair around her finger and waited for class to begin. |
Althea stood, "Okay, class, time to get started. Please, no chatting until the end of class." She looked around at the students. "Now, I assume you lot are curious as to why I am here instead of the Headmistress. It seems that she has come down ill, so we all will move right along now and get into the discussion for today." "Who can tell me the purpose of Defense Against the Dark Arts, and some important facts?" |
How can pink be protective? Whende thought to herself. She raised her hand as the Nurse asked a question, "Er, the purpose is to teach defense agaisnt dark magic," she said. |

Rose rolled her eyes at the question. She really just asked that question? This isn't the first class, Rose thought. She didn't tolerate stupid querries very well. She noted down her observations about the nurse teaching DADA, most of which made her giggle. Rose quickly put her hand over her mouth, trying to stifle her laughs. |
Ebony raised her hand. "Well if someone using Dark Magic against you, it'll would most likly be a curse." |
Marvolo sneaked into the classroom and sat down at the back of the room. |

Althea eyed the giggling Ravenclaw. "Here, child, drink this potion. It'll help you with your giggle fit." She placed a jar on the girl's desk, it was very similar in taste to the muggle soda some students drank. Quote:

"Yes ma'am."Marvolo replied to the nurse.Marvolo raised his hand."So...who got hurt?"Marvolo asked sarcasticly. |
Rose looked skeptically at the jar in front of her. She had heard of some teachers being mean, and she wasn't sure if some were mean enough to poison a student. Rose sniffed it, Smells like Pepsi she observed. She unscrewed the top and titled the jar so it looked like she was drinking it. In fact, Rose kept her lips firmly sealed. She put the jar down, and raised her hand. "Thank you so much Professor," Rose said emphatically. "I'm sure that cured my sporatic giggling!" |

Marvolo smirked at the way the nurse replied."Honest mistake." |

Erin decided that she'd go back to the original question of the substitute Professor. "When do you use magic?" she repeated, raising her hand. "Well, I don't think using magic is necessary in many cases that it is used. Of course, defense is always an excellent time to use it, as well as during classes so you can practice." |
Julia looks back and forth from the woman to her fellow Ravenclaw. Watching the student carefully, she smirks to herself. Smart kid, she thinks, raising her eyebrows. She was ready to leap into action if the woman took off points because she didn't drink it. |
"This is going to be an intresting lesson."Marvolo thought. |

She took the jar from the girl and carefully placed it back where it had been. "It would have stopped your giggles, though that could be because you'd have been throwing up and it's very difficult to giggle whilst bent over the loo." Quote:

Normally, Rose would have been quite pleased at earning herself points for Ravenclaw, in this case, however, Rose was shocked. A teacher tried to give her a potion to make her vomit. She lost all the color from her face and sat there seething with anger. She noted the incident and vowed to bring it up with her head of house. Even in a school for wizards this sort of behavior should not be permitted. |

Julia grins slickly to herself as the woman gives her classmate 5 points for her nice move. Watching the girl's anger build up, she shrugs casually to herself. It was obvious that a wicked Ministry woman like herself would've done that. If Julia ever got sick or injured this term, she was definitely not going to the nurse, no matter what anyone told her. |

Vishu was watching everyone answer in class. She would be more active later, she wasn;t paying much attention. She took her eyes away from the window occasionaly to listen to the nurse. Why did we have to have class anyway? she thought to herself. |
Sephora just sat there and wrote down some notes. She didn't feel ike talking today. |

Shaking her head slowly, Julia decides to get to her point. "What do you expect us to do with these? You pretty much poisoned the last person's beverage... and now you're giving us this... and you know that we're going to think it's something bad... but it really isn't!" If I'm wrong, this will be quite some scene. Deciding to take a chance, Julia looks from her glass to the woman. "If I die because of this, Kay will kill you because she lost her star seeker." Smirking, she picks up her glass of butterbeer and examines it. "Bugs Bunny, this is for you," she says, then looks around at the other students, takes a sip, and blinks as she decides whether or not what she just did was a good choice. |
Marvolo was now fighting the urge to laugh at Julia's answer. |
Rose laughed at the girl's answer and stared her glass. She presonally didn't want to drink it. She swirled her glass around and waited for the nurse to do something. |
Erin looked at the glass in front of her and wondered if it was safe to drink. Apparently Julia had the same thought, and Erin tried not to laugh at her reaction. Not being quite so brave, she decided to wait and see what happened to Julia before she drank any. |

Given what had just occurred between myself and a giggling student, I'm surprised anyone would have taken a drink." Some, very rare poisions, would work on a small amount, but, as I said they are very rare. Only a slight effect should happen on a taste so small. 10 points for you." She looked around the room at the uneasy stares coming pointed in her direction. Then, she smiled "15 points to each that did not drink, for you saw earlier what I had said. Bottom's up!" And with that she drank her own glass of butterbeer. |
"Cool."Marvolo said calmly. |
Julia rolls her eyes as she smirks. Not saying a word, she leans back in her chair. There were quite a few Ravenclaws in the room, so they had all earned 15 points. Nice, she thinks, but they need to get some guts. It's quite sad that my fellow Ravenclaws are so... safe. They won't take a chance. Shrugging to herself, she wonders when class will be over. |
Rose stared at the Butterbeer on her desk. She was not about to drink anything coming from this crazy lady. What kind of lesson was this? A lesson in bravery? "Not very educational," Rose muttered to herself. She pushed the drink on her desk to the side and sat there unamused. |
"I'll take your butterbeer."Marvolo said to the girl who just pushed her drink away. |
Rachel looked over at Julia from across the classroom and giggled. She would've taken a drink, but didn't want to take any chances...She shrugged and sipped it. She looked at the nurse and wondered when she could get out of the lesson. |
Rose looked at the Slytherin and plopped the drink on his desk. "Sure, it's your funeral," Rose commented. She still didn't believe these kids wouldn't be blowing chunks by the end of class. |
"Thanks."Marvolo said before chugging down his 2nd drink. |
Althea looked around at the class, "Tell me, what is something you could do to protect yourselves from a possible attack?" |
"Play possem."Marvolo answered with a smirk. |
Rose looked to the Slytherin boy next to her and whispered, "Well you shouldn't go see the nurse...ever." |
"You right."Marvolo whispered back. |

Erin raised her hand. "Maybe you could counter the attack, or use a sheild charm to protect yourself. Either way, you have to be paying attention to know when to use them." |
"10 points from Ravenclaw and Slytherin for chatter." Althea said looking at the two students who had been yapping. She couldn't wait until the term was over. "And another 5 from Slytherin for attempting cuteness." Quote:

Crystal raised her hand. " Well if all else fails, couldn't you just dodge the spell?" She asked, thinking that was the most obivous answer. |
of course Im agree with using a shield charm, its the best way I think, but can we walk trough the corridor or trough the diagon alley for example with using shield charm? sorry professor; can we create an invisible patronus which protects us everytime ? |

Vishu copied down the homework, put her stuff away and strode out of the class with the others. "Er...Great class" she told the nurse and walked off, even though she wasn't sure if it was that great. But it sure was a fun class. |
