Jessica patiently waited for the Professor to come and see her potion. From what she took “thick, orange paste” to mean, her paste looked perfectly okay. But she wasn’t so sure about the Professor. She hoped he thought it was okay. She had half a mind to pray, but she thankfully pushed the idea to the back of her head.

Rose sits in her seat waiting to see what the Professor will think of her potion.
*looks around room*
She pops a chocolate out of its box, bounces it off her nose, and catches it in her mouth.
"Any one want one?" Rose asks quietly so not to disrupt anyone.

While waiting for the professor to come and check her potions, Stacey made sure that everything in her notes were right. Once she finished with her notes, she put all her books away except for her book on potions and began to read a little more.

"Hmmm... Place the aloe, slug juice and chickweed mixture into the Mallow and corn oil..." Ozzy mumbled and reached for the small metal basin. He tipped the mixture into the cauldron and extracted his wand from his cloak pocket. "Incentio!" He said jabing his wand at the burner beneath his cauldron. He tucked his wand away quickly and began to stir the concoction counter clockwise.

When the contents of the cauldron began to boil nicely he removed the ladle and once again took out his green and silver note book and began to write some schedules and notes.

After the twenty minutes had passed he checked the potion and noticed that it was beginning to turn a faint orange color. He extinguished the burner flame and picked up his ladle, stirred the potion around counter clockwise twenty times and waited for the now vibrantly orange concoction to cool.

When it had he ladled a good ammount into a vile and labled it with his Name, House and the Potion with in it. He then set it aside and began to clean up his area.

As julie was staring at Romy seeing her copying her, Julie had an idea. She heard a girl call for chocolate and said "Psss Rose pass one here".

Julie then stared at romy and said "Your ribs still hurts from the sandbags no?" pausing " Maybe we can put some healing paste in chocolate and you can eat it, it should help you "Julie said nodding, eyes filled with mischief

Gaby gets out her potion ingredient and her cauldron. She writes the potion recipe down and gets to work. After consulting her potions book, Gaby gathers the wood under her cauldron and lights it. The fire should not be too hot because steeping is done below the boiling point. She measures 22mL of corn oil, pours it into the cauldron, and then adds the ten mallow leaves and stems. Gaby presses them down into the corn oil making sure all of them are immersed. She then takes out her thirty minute hour glass and turns it over. While the sand runs out, she prepares the other ingredients and watches to make sure the corn oil doesn't start boiling. Gaby cuts about five leaves from Professor Braxton's aloe plant. She squeezes them and counts the drops. It takes a while, but she finally gets twenty drops of aloe. Gaby then goes up front and collects her two slugs. She carefully squeezes them over the bowl of aloe juice. When both slugs have been drained, Gaby adds the handful of chickweed. She then checks her hour glass. Only about half of the sand has run out, so the corn oil mixture needs to steep for a little longer before the aloe mixture can be added.

*slips Julie a chocolate frog*
Over hearing Julie's last comment Rose says,"Psst. You know it's a potion to heal burns not bruises. You might want to be careful. but if Romy does eat one let me know what happens I might need to us it for-nevermind that." *mischevious grin*

Julie took the chocolate frog from Rose and hid it under her robes, peaking around seeing that nobody saw her then whispred to Rose "As a matter of fact we might need to use your paste" julie paused and pointed to her and romy's cauldrens then continued saying "not right" Hoping rose understood what she just meant.

pauline took her cauldorn and poured the corn oil in it. while the oil and mallow were steeping. she prepared her aloe. she counted twenty drops then sqeezed the 2 slugs into the aloe and also added chickweed.

next she poured the aloe inot the mallow and corn oil. she stired counterclockwise until the potion came to a boil. she then let it st for another tweny minutes without stirring.

after twenty minutes she extinguished the fire and stired the potion 20 times counterclockwise and watch it become a orange color.

Rose nods signaling that she knew what she meant and puts a bit of it in a spare vial. *passes the vial to Julie*

Julie takes the vial from Rose and gives her two thumbs up, checking that no-body her saw her. To her relief, the professor was still busy with students up front and everybody else was busy with their own cauldron.
Julie sliped the vial in her bag in a hidden pocket and decided to do it after class.

Julie then stared at her cauldron, its turning green. Ohhh well she said to herself nobody is perfect and started looking at what the professor is doing with other students.

With the steeping finished, Gabby adds the aloe/slug/chickweed mixture as directed. She increases the fire, so the mixture will come to a boil. Gaby then starts stirring continuously in a counterclockwise direction only stopping to turn the twenty minute hour glass over. She continues stirring until the sand runs out. Gaby notices the mixture is not the orange color Professor Braxton said it should be. It is thick but the color is more to a deep yellow. "Maybe stirring it twenty times after I take it off the fire will encourage it to change color," she thinks to herself. Gaby takes her cauldron off the fire and vigorously stirs the mixture twenty times counter clockwise. The mixture stays thick but the color turns to a bright yellow. She reread the recipe and cannot figure what she did wrong.

Jessica decided she was getting over anxious. Just Chill she chided herself - And that was exactly what she was finding hardest right now. A question was now starting to bug here.

"Professor, incase the Potion ismade incorrectly," she began, hand high in the air. "What negative effects may it have? And can it further deepen the wound in some way?"

Alanna followed the instructions closeley, often checking them to make sure she did it perfectly. After the last step, she stared intently at her potion. It was the corect color, but it looked a little thin. She checked over the instructions two more times, but couldn't see any mistake she had made. Still, it might be alright, she just hoped it wasn't harmful if made incorectly.

Rose sat in her chair twiddling her thumbs. She starts writing a song in her notebook while she waits for Professor Braxton to review her potion. *eats chocolate frog*

Sabrina listened carefully as Professor Branxton gave the first ingredients to the potions. She placed her cauldron and ladle on the table, measured out 200mL of corn oil, sitting the vial at eye level to make certain that she measured the right amount. She added it to the cauldron and then placed the 10 mallow stems with their leaves into the corn oil, making sure that the stems were completely submerged.

She carefully observed her watch, waiting until 30 minutes had passed. She then placed the aloe, two slugs, and the handful of chickweed of to the side. She squeezed until she had the 20 drops of aloe. She picked up the slug, grimaced as she glanced at it, and then squeezed it into the aloe. Adding chickweed to the aloe and slugs, she then placed this mixture into the mixture of corn oil and mallow.

She then lit the fire under the cauldron, grabbed her ladle, and began stirring the mixture counterclockwise until the mixture began boiling. She stopped, watched the potion continue to bubble without stirring it for another 20 minutes. She then carefully turned off the fire, taking the cauldron away from the flame. She stirred counterclockwise 20 times and then peered inside. Another successful potion she thought, a smile of satisfaction crossing her face.

Professor Branxton leaned over the potion and looked closely at it. "It should be fine. Try stirring a few more times but, even if it does not get rid of the red tinge, the potion should be effective."

"Yes, it should be fine. If it isn't brewed perfectly it won't do any harm however, it may not be quite as effective."

"The burn-healing paste is an effective treatment for all burns."

"Three extra drops should not significantly change the potion however, be careful not to make any other mistakes as multiple mistakes can seriously alter the effectiveness or even effect of you potion."

"It should be good enough to work on most burns, but again, perhaps not quite as effectively," he nodded and continued on to the next student.

"Please, no eating in class. That's 5 points from Hufflepuff. It can be very dangerous if you should have residue from something poisonous on your hands," Professor Branxton said, holding out his hand. "I'm afraid I will have to confiscate them."

"Depending upon what was done wrong, it could just be benign, not work at all, or it could increase the burn or cause some other injury."

Yashu was waiting long for the Professor to come to his desk.

pauline finished stirring and waited for the proffesor to look at her potion.

Serilda finished making potion, which she knew she did well on, and waited very patienly for the professor to come by.

Kiki waited to get her poition checked.

Mattio completed the directions which the proffessor put on the board and sat down to relax. In the last class he learned that potion making required great precision, and that proved to be quite tiring. He hoped that his potion came out well and was somewhat confident; he did a decent job last time.

Kiki sighed.*Sighs*

Yashu sighs. He could make another Burn-Healing Paste in this time!

Mattio looked over at his friend Yashu's direction. He seemed to be getting restless after completing his potion. Fortunately, Mattio and Yashu's potions looked similar, so they probably had a better chance of being prepared correctly.
