Sara looks at a clock nearby, and realizes she had to go. She grabs her belongings, apologizes to the proffesor, and quickly leaves the room.

Emma decided she would go to transfiguration.

Natisia walked off going to prof. Dainsie's office to check out if she has already cured her cat.

"Professor, can ginger be used in every type of potion?" asked Emma

Jack was waiting to see what the class would do next

Serilda raised her hand, then put it down again. Maybe she could stay just a little longer...

Rosa got her potions equipment out of her bag. She grabbed her knife and fiddled a bit with the ginger root, deciding where she'd start with her slives. She started at one of the tips. Her ginger root resembled an ill-shaped doll or something of the kind. she was now slice by slice cutting of the head... it was funny, somehow. She carefully cut her ginger root, putting her knife down now and then before she'd burst out in laughter about the legg she was cutting off. why had the professor asked them to cut ginger roots? how could you concentrate on cutting something like that?

Professor Branxton was fuming. First, he's innundated with a slew of students chatting during his class and now there are students leaving early and without his permission. "Ten points from Hufflepuff and Slytherin for leaving class early, Emma and Natisia," he said before turning to the Weasley girl. "No, you do not need to skin the root first. There are some potions that require you to do so and other that require only the skin but, for today you will not need to."

Marvolo opened his mouth but closed it because he didn't want to talk.He has never seen teacher this mad,except for the time he tried to put hair growing potion in the goblits last year.Marvolo gave a small laugh at the thought

Chantel wanted to say something also but she thought it was better if she just keep her mouth shut and just wait for her teacher to continue on...

alyssa sat at her desk fuming at the way her fellow housemates lost house points."leave it to them to lose points for us" she snarled.

Gaby tucks her head. She didn't realize her question would upset the professor so much. "Yes sir, I'm sorry, Professor Braxton. My mother brews potions that require the ginger root to be peeled for the potion to work properly. I just didn't want to mess things up later." Gaby quietly slices her ginger root into even, thin slices and places them in the jar.

pauline watched intentivly as the proffesor got amd at the students for leaving why did the have to be idiotic and leave pauline thought to herself

ooc: note that just as you wouldn't announce your late presence unless your character is late to class, don't tell me that you're leaving class early when you just need to sign offline or something because I doubt your character would leave before the professor dismissed class, thanks. (Also, it's odd to leave the class in one post and then, ask a question in the next).

"Now that we're finishing up with our ginger root, which can be used in most but not all potions, I've decided to allow you to attempt a simple potion: The Tickling Tincture. It is a mild potion which wears off quickly. It uses ginger root, Wartcap powder (a very tiny amount), chicken feathers, and black pepper. So, take out your cauldron and supplies and start 500 mL of water to boil."

Nabiya tightened the lid of her jar and placed it back down on the table before she gave in to the urge to throw it at someone. Fuming as she thought of what she would do to Emma once class was over, she broke her quill in her anger.

10 points? She asked herself incredulousy. There really was no point for them to work so hard for the points if this was how the younger students just leak them away.
She took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down. Taking out the supplies that the professor had just mentioned, she placed them on the table in an organized manner.
She put her cauldron with the indicated amount of water in it on the small fire she had going.

David took out his cauldron, set a flame, put the cauldron on it and poured in 500ml of water, and waited for it to boil.

pauline took out her cauldron, poured the water in, and watched it till it came to a boil. she then waited for the next instructions

Serilda whipped out the appropriate ingredients needed and instantly set to work on measuring and boiling the water.

Zelot put her Cauldon on the table, filled it with the 500 mL of water and started the fire underneth. She then pulled out the rest of her supplies and awaited the next orders.

Chantel does just exactly what the Professor had told us to do...she takes out her cauldron and starts boiling her water...

AMber Joy was simply thrilled. She didn't dare dream that they would actually brew siomething in their first class! She quickly pulled out her pewter cauldron, admiring it as she set it on the table. The outside had her family crest and her initials "AJW" underneath. Her beloved grandfather had it specially made when she was born, and although she had never been allowed to use it before now, it had held a place of honor in her bedroom for her entire life. And now she could finally use it.

Smiling, she took out her beaker and carefully measured the water, checking three times before adding it to the cauldron and starting the small fire beneath it. She neatly lined up the rest of her supplies next to the cauldron and smiled as she waited for the water to boil, and for further instructions. She wished she could send an owl to her grandfather. Had he been alove, she was certain that he would be most proud of her.

Mattio began following the proffessors instructions, but he is a little fearful of boiling water, so he handled it very cautiously.

As the water was boiling, Chantel takes out all the ingrediant that is going to be used...

"Ginger Root,... Wartcap Powder,... Chicken Feather,... and ...Black Pepper" She whispered as she was pulling them out...

alyssa did as she was told. alyssa got her cauldron and plcced it on the table. she poured 500ml of water in it and let it boil.

alyssa took out the ginger root, wartcap powder, chicken feathers, black pepper . the black pepper tickled her nose.

awhile after the water began to boil.

putting her ginger slices to the side, Kathryn started takeing out what the professor had told them to. "Wow," Kathryn thought to herself, "were brewing potions in our first class."

She set her cauldren over the flames to boil, after adding the water.
