Jen finished copying down notes and nodded at the Professor's instructions. She took out a knife and stared at the ginger root for a few seconds. Her mother had once told her that she might as well chop things up using a chain saw for all her accuracy.
Hesitantly, she began to cut. Her first few pieces weren't very close in size, but once she got into a rythym her strokes became more accurate. She placed her mostly symmetrical pieces of ginger into the jar and awaited the Professor's next instructions.

Mattio finally finished cutting up his ginger root. After hearing what the proffessor said about the dangers of a small mistake in potions, he worked extra hard to do it exactly right.

Second |  Potions Classwork
Lb walks into the classroom and sits down in the back by himself. He began to take notes on what the Professor was saying. Raises hand and say, "Professor, potions are very dangerous because it is complex and even the slightest mistake, such as adding the wrong ingredient or stirring in the wrong direction. Small mistakes can make the difference between a potion that cures poison into something poisonous itself. Ginger has magical properties of fire. It also has a soothing quality and gives potions a power boost." After the ginger roots and jars appear, Lb takes out his knife and begins to cuts his roots. Very carefully he begins to cut them into small yet nice and even pieces. He made sure that each slice of the root was identical to the one before it. This process took him at least half an hour. As soon as he is done, he puts all the pieces into the jar that was given to him.

Mithos reached out for the jar and opened it. He took out the ginger roots and took out his knife. He slowly, and carefully, began to cut the ginger roots into thin layers. As thin as possible. When he was finished cutting them into small parts he neatly put them back in the jar as the Professor had asked them. | |

Heshasa took out her potions kinfe and began to cut the ginger into thin, neat, even strips. She wasn't very experienced in cooking but she founds the ginger easy to cut.
Once she had finished she slipped them into the jar. Placing the jar infront of her Heshasa smilied waiting for further instructions.

Heafalaswen was really glad because her dad is a chef and she learned a lot from him. Especially when it comes to cutting vegetables. So she tool her knife and started to cut her ginger. It was not as easy as cutting vegetables but she thought she did a pretty good job. It may not all be even, but they were thin and neatly cut... Then she placed the pieces into the jar.

Gaby watches Professor Braxton closely waiting for him to clean his glasses. She gets a kick out of his nervous habit. Gaby figures with a room full of students it won't take long for the professor's nerves to be on end. She gets up and goes to the head of the glass and collects a ginger root and a jar. Returning to her seat, Gaby takes out her new knife from her potion's kit and sharpens it. She had hoped they'd be doing something more exciting this first lesson than cuttin up ginger roots, but beggers can't be choosy. Gaby cuts off the ends of her root and starts to cut thin slices when she remembers alot of potions require the root to be peeled before being sliced. She raises her hand. "Professor Braxton, should we peel the ginger root before we start cutting it?" | |

Amber took out her sharpest serated knife from her potion's kit. She cut the ginger swiftly, and with precision, into thin, even slices. She used the back edge of the blade to scoop the ginger into the jar. She pulled out a white cloth that she kept in her school bag and wiped down her blade. The juice smelled strong and tangy. She put the blade and the cloth away and sat waiting for futher instruction.
