Welcome to Charms! You enter the old classroom to find it looking very different from usual. There are still desks for all the students to sit in, but standing on every desk is a miniture door, about a foot tall. As always, take a seat and wait patiently for the professor to show up.
OOC: Feel free to RP yourself into the classroom, but try to keep chatting to a minimum. I'll be back in about half an hour to begin the lesson.

"Perhaps a little more concentration will sort that little problem out." Kate was now past her surprise and trying hard not to laugh; she didn't want the poor girl to be any more embarassed than she must already be. So Kate gave her a pat on the shoulder, and then continued moving along the rows.

Taylor looked over at the girl whos door exploded is flames. He walked over to her door and said "Augamenti" and water erupted from his wand putting out the fire. "Just in case," He said to the girl. He winked at her and walked off.

Eunice gave a startled jump when the flames shot up, but settled down when one Ravenclaw boy extinguished them. She turned back to her practicing, making sure that her spell wouldn't cause a fire too.

Wow. Summoning water is good, but I wonder if I could summon a water elemental?
Jacob was amazed by the extinguish, and the blue flames as well. He then went back to practicing up locking and unlocking the door.

"Colloportus!" Talons said. She looked expectantly at her miniature door. Nothing happened, so she tried again. "Colloportus!" she said a little louder. concentration and confidence, concentration and confidence.. she chanted in her head. "Colloportus!" she said again, practically yelling this time. Why couldn't she do it now, when she had been so good at it earlier? Maybe i accidentally did something to it, she thought. She put her hand in the air. "Professor, there's something wrong with my door," she said.

"Colloportus, Alohomora," Taylor kept saying as he waved his wand lazily. Since the Professor hadn't given new instructions, he kept practicing even though he had mastered it.

Felisia stared at the door in front of her. Her mother had taught her how to unlock her bedroom door, seeing as how Felisia's younger brothers had a nack for locking it at inoportune times. However, the sealing charms seemed to be giving her a little trouble. She wasn't one to typically talk out in class, rather pay silent attention. But this time, she had to form words.
"Colloportus." she said, pointing her wand at the solid wood. Nothing happened. "Professor." Felisia shot her hand up. "Would you say the sealing charm one more time? Perhaps I'm not saying it percisely enough to make it work correctly." Felisia waited to hear the proper words from the professors mouth to make sure her charm would never fail again. | |

Kate checked the time and then looked around the classroom. It looked like almost everybody was getting it, and those who hadn't were well on their way. "Alright, that's enough for today," she said to the class. "You are free to go. I'll post the homework on the announcment board outside my office in the next few days. Good work today."

Felisia packed up her wand and notes. She figured the professor was really busy with other students and didn't have the time today to go over simple pronunciation. She resolved herself to ask her friend Fancy.
"The class was very intersting today. Don't you think so Fancy?" Felisia knew her friend was like her in that she didn't speak much in class. After class, however, Fancy could have moments when it was hard to shut her up. "Hey, by the way. Did you get the Colloportus spell down well? I don't know if I'm pronouncing it correctly."
Felisia walked out of the classroom with her friend, hoping for a little help in this area. | |

Charms was one of Fancy's favorite subjects (the other being Potions). Having already studies the Colloportus and Alohamora charms on her own, Fancy got bored very quickly that day in Charms. She absentmindedly pointed her wand at the small wooden door sitting on the desk, chanting (which quickly turned to muttering) the incantations. The squelching noise was getting kind of annoying, as well, so she welcomed the sight of her friend, Felisia, towards the end of class. Since the professor had dismissed the class already, Fancy felt that she could talk freely (normally, she never talked in class, as she did not want to get points taken away from the Slytherin house).
"Bye, Professor!" Fancy called, waving goodbye to her teacher.
Fancy then began gathering her quill, parchment, wand, ink, and various other belongings and walked over to Felisia, who immediately asked her if she had succeeded with the sealing charm.
"Of course! I mastered it first year. Believe me, when you've got a family like mine, you learn to use charms like that. Privacy is everything in the Taylor household. Actually..." Fancy told Felisia, whispering the last word and the following comments. "...I learned it before I even came to Hogwarts. My parents didn't want me to find things of their's, and I didn't want them finding some of my things, either. My parents and I are very secretive."
Fancy and Felisia walked out of the room together and into the corridors, talking about class and Fancy's homelife. | |
