The walls were back to their blue state. Even the ceiling had somehow got painted blue. It was fabulous to Lainey and she had a certain Slytherin or two to thank for it. Her office was now re-decorated with all her keepsakes that Borr had taken from her. Yet another Slytherin had made sure to keep her things safe until her return. Assorted chocolates could be found in almost any area of Lainey's office, all courtesy of Professor McAiken. The only thing missing this term was Lainey's elf, Hubert. He had needed a break and even though he had fought against it, Lainey ordered him to take a vacation. But, despite her missing house elf, Lainey was happy for the first time in years.

Seated in her high backed chair, Professor Lainey works on some repairing an old History book. She looks up as you enter. "Hi. What can I do for you?"

McAiken approached the door to Professor Lainey's office. He stopped and adjusted his cloak and kilt, then he knocked. He waited for a response.

"Come in!" Lainey mumbled through a mouthful of chocolate and strawberries. She waved her wand and the door flew open. Lainey peeped over her desk to see who it was..

Lainey frowned and reached up half paying attention as Nobel arrived. "Linnea, you're proving to be a great Prefect. Please escort Nexis back to the Common Room." Lainey dismissed them both and opened her package. Packages from McAiken always made her smile.

"Yes, Professor." Linnea replied and escorted Nexis from the room as Lainey opened her package.

Lainey smiled. "Just now, actually," she answered sliding him the box of chocolates. "These are fantastic, Professor. You'll have to tell me where you got them. I think I know someone else that might fancy these." Lainey tucked her hair back behind her ears and sighed. "Thank you for these. Not sure what I did to deserve these, though."

Euan followed McAiken through the castle and into another office; he did seem to like offices. When he entered he saw there was a woman professor here. His eyes narrowed and he have a low growl. He hadn't been given instructions on what to do in such a situation, but he was sure he'd figure it out. If she tried to get to close to the man... well, he was a crup after all. Oh, and those strawberries smelled delicious, making it hard for him to concentrate on the task at hand.

"Just for being you, that's why I sent them. Seems like every time we plan an evening away from the castle some student manages to make us cancel our plans. I want to spend more time with you," McAiken tried to explain but feeling as if Lainey wasn't really listening to him.

Professor Lainey frowned. "I'm not so sure that is such a good idea, Professor." Lainey passed the chocolates back across the desk to offer him one. What if.. what if Professor Branxton saw her spending time with this man? What would he think!?! "Perhaps you can move your seat closer to mine in the Great Hall. That would be spending more time together," Lainey offered with an extremely nervous glance to what appeared to be McAiken's pet crup.

Rave walked up to the door of Professor Laineys office intent on getting her advice on house matters since she couldnt seem to get ahold of the headmistress. She was just about to knock when she heard someone sounding like Professor McAiken that he and Lainey were trying to make plans outside of the castle. She simply stood there hand raised frozen in possition to knock. Slowly lowering her hand she wheeled on her heel and ran back to the Slytherin common room thinking to herself I try to get the headmistress she going out on a date with another professor. I try to get the deputy headmistress same thing! her feet thumping loudly on the floor as she ran.

McAiken took a step closer to her. "Anjelica, I want more than just seating close to you in the Great Hall," He declared as he raised his hand and gently touch her cheek. "I care for you." He stopped, and waited for her to response.

As the man took a step closer to the other professor, Euan started barking. When that didn't deter his actions, he sprang into action immediately. He ran across the room right at the woman professor, and, as McAiken touched her cheek, he sank his teeth into her leg.

Lainey was used to surprises in her office. From the time she'd returned to find it painted back to its original state, to the time she was literally kicked out of it. But this... this beat them all. McAiken's hand on her face and crup's vicious teeth in her leg was now ranked at the top of crazy things that had happend in her office.

Lainey didn't have a second to act on McAiken's advances. A loud, painful scream escaped her lips as the crup bit down and tears filled her eyes. The crup wasn't exactly letting go and the pain was only getting worse. So, naturally, Lainey screamed louder.

Judging by the woman's scream, Euan had made his point quite admirably. Once she started getting louder, Euan decided to let her be; she wouldn't forget what happened when she got to near his master's friend anytime soon, so he felt he was good go return to his nice comfortable pillow for awhile. Before he left, he nuzzled the nice man's leg to let him know he appreciated all the food and attention, and also to let him know he was in no danger of a bite. With that, he left the office and made his way to his master's quarters.

McAiken took his wand from the folds of his robes and tried to stun the crup. The spell missed and crup escaped out the office door. McAiken was angry enough to give chase but Lainey needed his help. McAiken took Lainey's arm and lowered her into her chair. He removed a hankerchief and applied pressure. "Nobel, get the nurse, go, make her follow you back here. Understand?" McAiken asked. The owl hooted and flew out the open window. "Anjelica, the crup been following me, I am sorry, I had no ideal it would attack anyone."

Lainey let the tears run down her cheeks as she resentfully glared at McAiken. "I don't trust that new nurse. I want Professor Branxton to look at this! Those fangs could have been poisonous!" Lainey looked at McAiken with a hint of resentfullness. Why would he bring his attack dog to her office.. if not to ...attack? "Please! Get him for me!"

"Of course, as you wish," McAiken placed her hand on the hankerchief and rose. He left the office on his way to dungeon. All the time wondering why she preferred the Potion Master over the nurse. Crup's bites weren't posionous. He quicken his pace. Where did that Crup come from? His mind raced and he had few or no answers.

Linnea had been walking through the halls when she heard a terrible screaming noise from Lainey's office. She stopped and was about to knock to see if her HoH was okay when, surpriseingly, McAiken walked out. She watched in shock has he left then knocked on the open door and peered in, "Professor Lainey? Are you okay?" She asked, then gasped, ~~on the floor was a stunned krup and~~ Lainey was crying, or had been. "Professor Lainey! What happened? What can I do?"

Professors Branxton and McAiken emerged from a seemingly solid wall a few feet away from the History of Magic Office. Doyle walked into the office to find Lainey and a student there. "Professor," he said, nodding in greeting.

Professor Opteryx was almost positive he crossed paths with a tiny dog as he rushed to the source of the scream, in the office of Professor Lainley. He got there to note that quite a gathering had gotten there before he had--and the apparent owner of the scream was Professor Lainley herself.

"What happened?" He asked, absently slipping his deerstalker hat on. "Are you quite alright?"

"Oh, Professor Branxton!" Lainey said, reaching her arms out to him. "I.. was attacked by McAiken's dog!" she said with an accusing finger in his direction. "I'm so glad you're here, Doyle. Do you think it is bad? It hurts really bad." Lainey batted her eyelashes to try and get the remains of tears off...as she raised her robes to show her bleeding leg to Doyle. "You.. You all can leave. I'll be quite alright with Professor Branxton here to take care of me. He's very skilled."

Professor Opteryx stared at Lainley and then her injury, remembering he'd run past a dog earlier...probably the culprit. But if it was McAiken's dog...what was it doing in her office unless it was planted there?

It would explain why McAiken was absent...the dog must have taken off to the other Professor's office in that case. At the same time, McAiken wouldn't be in his office, so why would the dog go there...

Confusing himself with his circular logic, he looked at Professor Braxton then shrugged. "I'll...stay here and make sure the dog doesn't come back, then," he said finally, moving to stand outside the office.

Gaby hears Professor Lainey scream and rushes to her office. She gets there in time to hear her claim the dog who bit her belonged to Professor McAiken. With Professor Lainey obviously in distress, Gaby decides it best not to disturbe Professor Braxton and her. "Professor Opteryx, it was probably a krup that bit Professor Lainey, and it doesn't belong to Professor McAiken. The krup's been following the professor around the past few days that's all. I can't understand why he would bite Professor Lainey. He seemed so gentle when I was around him. The krup I mean."

Linnea raised an eyebrow at Lainey, half tempted to stay in the room, they had yet to notice her, afterall. Even Lainey hadn't said anything to her. McAiken's dog? He had a dog? Why had it bitten Lainey? Lainey would have had to do something. Dogs don't just attack at random. Even trained ones only go for key places and movements.

Linnea wasn't happy about this turn of events. If it was truly a dog, then Lainey had done something, and if it wasn't a dog.........well.......Then McAiken must be some sort of animagus but..........why would he have bitten Lainey?

She looked at McAiken who had not spoken yet. Then turned back to Lainey. Linnea was disgusted with the way she had reached out to Branxton, in front of McAiken whose fancy for her had been fairly obvious, and batted her eyes. She was no better than the students she was supposed to teach! Linnea knew that even teachers had hormones, but really! Then to blame it all on a dog. Hmph. Linnea had a particular fondess for dogs. More than fondess, she could connect to them, relate to them.

Deciding that it was probably best for her to leave the office, for she would either blow up or throw up if she remained, she turned and left, just barely not storming out.

Professor Opteryx's eyes narrowed slightly in thought. "Really now?" He asked the Hufflepuff. "That's odd...is it a stray? If it followed McAiken around...hmmm...most peculiar. Most peculiar indeed..."
