 The walls were back to their blue state. Even the ceiling had somehow got painted blue. It was fabulous to Lainey and she had a certain Slytherin or two to thank for it. Her office was now re-decorated with all her keepsakes that Borr had taken from her. Yet another Slytherin had made sure to keep her things safe until her return. Assorted chocolates could be found in almost any area of Lainey's office, all courtesy of Professor McAiken. The only thing missing this term was Lainey's elf, Hubert. He had needed a break and even though he had fought against it, Lainey ordered him to take a vacation. But, despite her missing house elf, Lainey was happy for the first time in years.
Seated in her high backed chair, Professor Lainey works on some repairing an old History book. She looks up as you enter. "Hi. What can I do for you?" | |

Kay walked up to the office door and hesitated. She reached inside her robes and withdrew a slender package. "Let's see if this will slide under the door," she whispered to herself and got down on her knees.
Just as she was about to slide the flat package under the door, Kay realized that she needed to write some sort of note on it. She took out her Quick-Quotes Quill and dictated a short message. "Professor Lainey, I meant to give this to you at the end of last term," she dictated as the quill made scratching noises on the package. "My great-aunt, Madame Luciana McLaggen, contacted several witches and wizards you knew, and asked for pictures. She told me the pictures were from your days at Hogwarts, Auror school, and when you first started working as an Auror. I told her about what happened to your pictures and she did the rest. I can't wait to see the pictures proudly displayed in your office! ~Kay."
The scratching of the quill ceased and Kay tried to slide the slender package under the door. It was of no use. She then leaned the slender package against the door jamb. "Hopefully she will find it," Kay whispered as she dusted herself off. She looked one last time at the package leaning against the door before heading off down the corridor.

Olivia felt a little odd, she came in with Mithos, and when he left she was going to too. She just followed suit. She had no idea why really. He just dragged her along everywhere. Not that she minded. Olivia would rather be with him than the majority of her house...she always wondered why she wasn't in Ravenclaw. She liked Professor Lainey though, she wasn't so nervous around her anymore. Lainey was so sweet and friendly. And to Olivia, she just seemed brilliant.
Now actually being able to string more than three words together without stuttering or sounding like a flake."Thank you, professor! Your hospitality and patience is much appreciated." she said smiling and waving to Professor Lainey as she followed Mithos out.

Nexis waited patiently for her and Linnea to be let in to the room."How long is this going to take? I hope that I don't get very bad punishment, I mean I was trying to help someone when I did use the potion and I didn't know that I could be punished for helping someone." She said to herself
OOC: I have to do something that will take about 15 minutes tops but I'm staying on this page and I'll edit this when I come back. I have to take a shower.

There are too many things that can go wrong with potions, which is why we aren't to have potions just with us. That is why you are in trouble. Just last term we had a student accidently poison himself, so we're pretty uneasy with students and potions." Especially myself, Linnea thought, I almost lost a close friend because he thought he could handle making potions........

Argyle pops into Mistress Lainey's office to find two students in there with her. Arglye puts the tray down, snaps her fingers and two more tea cups and spoons appear. Argyle then increases the size of the tea pot and plate of cookies. With her work done Argyle snaps her fingers and returns to the kitchen. | |

Lainey sighed, but did a fantastic job of keeping her patience. "Now tell me, why wouldn't you just wait? This doesn't seem like a life or death matter to me. Next time, you'll wait on Ms. Numel. You could have really hurt your friend. Do you understand? There is no excuse for your behavior and I expect better of you in the future."
Lainey frowned and reached up half paying attention as Nobel arrived. "Linnea, you're proving to be a great Prefect. Please escort Nexis back to the Common Room." Lainey dismissed them both and opened her package. Packages from McAiken always made her smile.
"Perhaps... Professor Doyle would like one of these." Lainey fed Nobel and treat and sent her on her way. She'd have to remember to thank McAiken later, she thought as she popped the delicious strawberry into her mouth. Exactly what she needed after a day like she had had. | |
