Professor Fox opened the Arithmancy classroom and stepped in. He conjured a large box to appear on the instructor's desk at the front of the room. He then removed a small, old wooden box and set it near the front of the desk. Fox wrote silently on the board at the front:
Applied Arithmancy: Spell numerization
We will be continuing using concepts covered in last year's courses. This term we will be applying the theory we learned last term directly to curse breaking.
New Students:
If you are unfamiliar with the matereial covered last term, simply try to keep up. This material will be new for everyone, so try your best to learn as we go and interject your ideas and opinions when asked. I will not deduct points for incorrect answers, and questions are always welcome. However, we stay on topic in my classroom, and I don't tolerate rule breakers or class clowns.
Having written that, he turned his attention to the now empty seats and waited for everyone to begin arriving. | |

Mattio looked back over his notes and thought about the question the proffessor asked the class. He thought he had an idea about what the 28 meant.
"Proffessor, does the 28 mean that the spell affects human movement or action... or something like that"

Evy smiled at the professor. Great!, she thought.
"2 means human magic and 8 means movement, so I guess it affects the human movement...That kind of makes sense but I feel like it is too easy..."
She was really starting to enjoy this class.

The 2 in the middle of the numbers representing physical contact and magic indicates specifically human cast magic and human contact. That said, before we move on, can anyone suggest a way to avoid setting the spell off if only human contact or human magic affects it?"
