Professor Opteryx entered the classroom with a studious frown on his face, so deep in thought that he tripped on the leg of his desk and narrowly saved himself from an undigified sprawl on the ground.

Shaking his head with a small grin, he righted himself and waited for students to trickle in.

"Three points to Nabiya and five each to Julie and Rave for those detailed answers," Opteryx said. "Spiritually, it is the rune of prophecy and revelation. It also encompasses the ideas of wisdom, knowledge, reason, and therefore of instruction and good advice. It might also refer to a test, examination, or perhaps an interview. It can mean a letter, book, paper, message or other information. When reversed, the Ansuz represents Loki, the messenger and trickster god in Norse mythology. Because Loki was a renowned trickster, Ansuz reversed may also portend a surprise, trick or subterfuge. As mentioned before, the element it represents is Air and the planet Venus."

"Okay, I think we've run this long enough, so here's the homework. I want a short paragraph on the remaining three runes of this set: Raido, Gebo and Wunjo. Remember to list what Norse god it is tied to, the elements and astrological features that it represents. Class dismissed."

Christy took note of her homework and packed her things. She smiled and gave a short nod to the Professor before she got up and made her way out of the classroom.

Rave sighed, upset that class was over. Ancient Runes may be considered hard to some but it was her favorite class. "Thanks for the great lesson Professor Opteryx!" Rave said politely as she walked out the door on the way to her next class.
