"Thats Uruz. Its is the Rune of Strength and it means Physical or mental strength, health." recited Rave sounding like a text book

Fancy grinned at Rave's answer. Leave it to her to give the right answers to all the professor's questions, and earn points for Slytherin. Fancy wished she was a bit faster on the uptake and could get the answer out before everyone else, but she assumed she'd do her part of earning house points through the homework. Fancy, wanting to get every word the students said, listened closely and scribbled furiously and waited for Professor Opteryx to move to the next Rune. Maybe Fancy could actually answer the question and get some well-needed points for Slytherin.

"Three points to Taylor and Rave for their answers and an additional two points to Taylor for adding that this is the Anglo-Saxxon version of Uruz, not the Elder Futhark. The Elder Futhark looks like this:" Opteryx held up another rune.



"Uruz means aurochs, the European wild ox that became extinct in 1627. Uruz encompasses physical strength, endurance, courage, and the raw, wild power of freedom. It includes health, emotional and spiritual strength. It can also imply a challenge leading to a major life change.

"The bull was believed to have been dedicated to Thor, and certainly the strength of the one reinforces a possible correspondence with the other. 'Achievement' may also have been a meaning of this rune, with the hunting of the aurochs providing an ultimate test of strength and initiative.

Uruz is aligned to Thor and Urdl, the element of earth and the astrological sign Taurus, predictably."

Taylor listened to the professors words before picking up his blue quill. He began to scribble down notes on the subject as fast as he could. When he was done, he looked at the professor and began to smile. I just earned points for Ravenclaw. That would deffinatly help us pass Gryffindor in house points. Taylor thought to himself as he waited for the professors next instruction.

Maureen listened carefully to what the professor said and then she started to take notes.

Christy had caught up in her notes and was trying to be as silent as she could be. After listening what the Professor said, she started to wish that the class could move on.

"Moving along again. How about this rune?"

Sabrina raised her hand. "It's the Thurisaz-the rune of chaos, evil, and temptation."

Professor Virohsa decided that to make sure Opteryx was allright, she would have to take matters into her own hands. She walked into the classroom and sat down in a place where she could see the Professor teach his class. "Ah! I can just tell this room is filled with learning and intelligence! Listen to him, he is quite knowledgeable", she blushed. "Oh, go on! Don't mind me..", she said as she blushed.

Julie was suprised that professor virohsa came into class and sat down.
Whats wrong, she thought. Does she love professor optryx just like professor lainey loved branxton.
She smiled at professor virohsa and turned her attention to class.

"Three points to Sabrina--in essence, yes. Thurisaz more accurately represents such dark forces as monsters, demons, trolls or devils, though it also can be interpreted as 'thorn'. This here is an interesting rune because it has the power, when employed in a sequence of three, to alter the meanings of succeeding runes--"


Opteryx stopped for a moment when he realized Professor Virohsa was now attending his class. A few awkward seconds of silence fell as Opteryx wondered if now would be a good time to run for the exit, then he clearned his throat and continued.

"The energy of Thurisaz can be used for good or for chaos. It can create evil or protection, depending on how it's used. It represents the forces of the human psyche, including anger and lust. The thorn is a symbolic weapon. It can pierce, stab or tear. But it can also be protective, like a thorny hedge. Thurisaz may also signify a stroke of luck, but is more often a warning that your luck is running out. Thurisaz is associated with Thor, the element of fire, and the planet Mars."

Christy took her notes and kept her attention on the Professor until he finished talking. When he stopped Christy, and the rest of the class noticed Professor Virohsa attending the lesson. Christy was racking her brain wondering, what in the world, was her Herbology Professor doing there 'Oh no, don't tell me this is another crush like Lainey and Branxton, I dont want to have a class about love plants...' she thought to herself in shock.

Professor Opteryx continued the class and Christy tried to return her attention to the Runes subject.

Taylor look several quick notes on all of the subject when Professor Virosha came into the class. Uh oh, not another crush. Mabey there is some love potion going on around here. Taylor thought to himself as took more notes.

Rave looked up at Virosha as she came into the class. She shrugged and began taking notes once again, waiting for the next question.

Rosa frowned when she noticed professor Virosha walk into the classroom and sitting down behind a desk. How odd... If she wanted to speak to a teacher, she could just call him out of the class to talk to him, didn't she? so what was she doing here?
she took some notes on the runes, but wasn't really with her mind on it. The professors were acting so odd. What was going on? It annoyed her, but she couldn't concentrate on school with such things going on, and how was she supposed to learn anything when all professors did was make them write love letters? She remembered something she'd heard in her first year. And there was no doubt that some private issues were going on between the teachers, really. But what kind of private issues? She scratched some notes on the parchment to take her mind off the whole thing and back to the runes

Professor Virohsa kept a sharp eye out for trouble makers. She was under the impression that any of them could harm poor Professor Opteryx.

She eyed them carefully and watched Opteryx speak. Ah! How intriguing his teaching method was!, she thought to herself. Deciding that she suddenly needed to make sure he wouldn't run out of plant feed (in case he got attacked), she ran off the class and into the herbology greenhouse.

Christy turned around and saw Professor Virohsa running out of the class. 'What is going on??' she thought to herself. Wordlessly, she drove her attention back to the lesson and to her notes.

Taylor saw the professor run out of the class. He tried his hardest to supress his laugh, but he couldnt hold it in. He burst out laughing in the middle of class. The professors were behaving like children with all of these silly crushes. After calming himself, he returned to his notes.

Fancy didn't know what to think, and she admired Professor Opteryx to have continued teaching with Professor Virohsa interrupting the was she did. Suddenly, before Fancy had finished writing down what Professor Opteryx had said about the rune they were looking at, the herbology professor quickly ran out of the room. Fancy was getting irritated at the behavior of some of the teachers here at Hogwarts. They were acting very unprofessional. First having to make valentines for Professor Branxton in History of Magic because of some infatuation Professor Lainey had, and now professors interrupting other professors' lessons! Fancy tried not to think about the strange behavior that had suddenly permeated the walls of Howarts. Instead, she looked up at Professor Opteryx and waited for her to begin speaking again.

She's a lunatic, Opteryx thought as he watched Virohsa run out of his class like a schoolgirl. Actually, for someone who was older than him, she was acting exactly like a giddy schoolgirl--

Opteryx coughed. He was going to have to talk with a few students afterwards in his office. Hogwarts had never been this...crazy...even when he was a student.

"Eyes to the front of the class, please," he said cheerily, trying to have everyone forget the small interruption. "How about this rune?"

Nabiya watched Opteryx' reaction and stifled a giggled, she covered her mouth with a hand and tucked her head low.

Regaining her senses, she raised a hand, "It's Ansuz, meaning God or a diety."

Julie raised her hand and answered "This symbol's name is Ansuz and it represents order The Ansuz rune represents consciousness, intelligence, communication and reason. The element of Odin, the godforce behind this rune, is air. Air is a penetrating medium necessary to all life-forms" she stopped hoping she was right.

Kassie walked into class late and took a seat in the back.

Rave looked at the girl who walked in late and shook her head. She then raised her hand and answered "Thats Ansuz - Odin's Rune also known as the messanger rune. Other names include Aesir, Ansur, Ansus, As, Aza, Easc and Oss. It is pronouced Awn - sooze and its runic number is 4. It represents communication, creativity, controlled and divine power. Its gemstone in emerald, its tree is ash, its color is dark blue and its planet is Venus." After saying all this, Rave stopped and gasped for breath.

Christy looked at girl who stepped into the class, she could tell the professor wasn't going to be too happy. Christy had caught up in her notes and was racking her brain trying to remember the rune. She thought she had heard it before, but it was lost to her at the moment. She started to wish that someone would get the answer soon so the class could move on.
