School hasn't begun, and already problems. There's a big hole in the barrier that leads to platform 9 3/4. Older students are doing their best to calm the first years and keep things under control until something is done. Eventually the staff arranged two Knight Buses to transport the students.

A lot of open staff jeering is going on, the main subject of redicule being the former Busy and Important Bertie Borr. There was also some Slytherin bashing (don't think that I didn't notice...:annoyed: )

Following the Feast Slytherin Prefects Jaren and Zekke had a discussion with the Headmistress regarding a certain Book of Mysteria, which has been somewhere in Hogwarts for several years and the main cause of craziness depicted in the Daily Prophet. Headmistress Rae gave them permission to look into the matter of the Book.

Alex of Slytherin had a small chat with Headmistress Rae as well on the Book, and it seems that there is a misunderstanding that Rae believes Jaren and Zekke to have blabbed the points discussed earlier. In any case, the Slytherin Prefects appear to be quite annoyed as they await another discussion.

UPDATE: Professor Fox appears to have some interesting contact with an unknown person. Various professors seem to be getting a little closer...

The Ministrt rep, Cecil Townsend, has arrived. Everybody look busy, please.

Quidditch is about to begin. Joy oh joy.

Status of student body: I'm late! I'm late for class!

Actually, that is an ooc question, and it would be simple enough for us to answer it. The Knight Bus is obviously part of the RP too.

The Knight Bus will arrive before the school term starts. There is a list of dates on the front page, if anyone is not aware of that fact. If you check that, you'll see that the term starts tomorrrow (Monday), so the bus will arrive sometime today most likely

The Headmistress has now given her speech, not that it is the nicest to hear at the start of term for the IC's but it certainly will cause excitment to the OOC's

"Last, I wanted to touch briefly on the occurence at King's Cross Station. I know that there are probably already rumors and theories forming," she looked specifically at the Slytherin table before continuing. "I fear that I'm letting you down to tell you that there is nothing sinister in what occurred. Only this morning, we received word that some Muggle construction and renovation at the terminal had accidentally damaged some of the masking wards the Ministry had put in place. Fortunately, the train had not yet arrived, and the Muggles believe they've found an old, unused terminal. The train should be operational again at the end of the term after the Ministry has had time to step in. If you have any additional questions or concerns about this incident, I ask you to seek me out personally, as I'm the one the Ministry has been in contact with."

"While the incident itself it harmless. the outcome is another matter. I've been informed that due to recent events and to the fact that once again the students were put into danger beyond our immediate control, the Ministry wants to close Hogwarts and open several smaller schools within their immediate jurisdiction. They'll be sending a representative here later in the term to discuss this with the staff. I propose..." She looked at the staff. She hadn't run this by them yet, as it was new information, but she felt sure they'd support her.

"I propose we prepare ourselves for the visit in several ways. First, I'm going to put up a suggestion box to welcome student suggestions on unifying the school and making it safer. Second, we're going to offer several in-house competitions this term to make the school more cohesive and more beautiful and to promote house pride. Last, I'm asking you as a student body to come together to make this a term of equity, peace, and unity. We can make this official understand that we are working towards making Hogwarts better than ever and keep our beloved school. Or... we can fail, and Hogwarts will cease to exist. The decision really rests on you."

She took a deep breath and smiled one last time. "I don't mean to scare you. We have plenty of time to worry on this issue, so for now... eat and be happy. Get a good night's sleep. Classes will begin shortly. Have a wonderful term." Rae clapped her hands and food appeared on each table. With a sigh of relief, she sank into her seat.

The following speech was made by well-known Slytherin Nadia in the Slytherin common room. I edited out some of the unimportant stuff. I'm not sure if it's against the rules to post things from the common rooms here but it's all ooc so I don't see a problem:

Jaren and Zekke were both in a meeting with Headmistress Rae. Apparently, the incident at King's Cross was really justa Muggle explosion. Jaren still has his doubts, though. Also ... they suggested having the Book of Mysteria removed from Hogwarts, but no one really knows where in the castle it is hidden. Headmistress Rae gave written permission to both Jaren and Zekke to search in the Restricted Section of the Library where they might find some information about where the Book could be found.
A small reminder ... this is OOC info, so it cannot be used IC.

Lessons taught by teachers so far include Astronomy, Care of Magical Creatures, Defence Against Dark Arts, Charms and Transfiguration.

A first year Slytherin student attacked the Gryffindor Prefect and there's people getting detentions all over the place. Zekke & Jaren, the Slytherin Prefects are furious because of this and some students too. Zekke has pinned up an announcement in the Slytherin Common Room.

That means no stealing, cheating, getting into fights, killing, and etc. And oh yes, that includes the NO PDA rule, too.
NO unsupervised dueling.

That can just be plain dangerous. I don't want any of you to land in the Healer's Office or at St. Mungo's because someone's spell went awry. And yes, it can happen.

There has also been quite a bit of duelling going on in the Duelling Arena. Seems to be going very well thus far, except for some spells gone weird and Nadia has turned Alex's toungue into a horn and now cannot get it back to normal. EDIT: Nevermind that, the spell was only temporary. Although ... I don't think feeling things move inside your mouth is very pleasant.

After the meeting that Alex had with the Headmistress, Jaren and Zekke were called back into the office. Apparentley, it was a miss-understanding because Rae thought that Jaren had talked to Alex AFTER his meeting with Rae. Got all that straightened out and now Zekke and Jaren still have permission to look and do research on the Book. The two of them, however, are not allowed to ask anyone else to help or to talk to anyone about it.

Now, while we are on the subject. Will you PLEASE stop hexing people and getting detentions all over the place? What is it with people and detentions this term? >.>

Lainey just taught the first History of Magic lesson. All went well until she assigned homework. Write about your personal history. Nadia did not seem to pleased about that. Huge argument broke out, including Ganymede, Nadia and Jaren. It looked like everyone was ganing up on poor Lainey. She rushed out of the classroom and straight for Rae's office, and telling her that she was not good enough for the job.

O_O LAINEY QUITTING? NOOOOOO. *runs around in circles and hyperventilates*

EDIT: Okay, okay, I am rather over-reacting. Rae refused to accept Lainey's resignation.

Just when we had all thought that all the staff was complete and their was no other positions until Headmistress Rae asks our very own Anjelica Lainey to be Deputy Head.

I can see Slytherins beign happy about this. I will EDIT my post with Lainey's final answer

A rather interesting conversation seems to be going on in the Room of Requirement between Hogwart's own three musketeers (aka Alex Nadia and Jaren). It is far to long to post here but I saw the word Book mentioned quite a few times

And as for this Jaren fan club I'm hearing about, what has Slytherin come to?

An interesting conversation about setting up a conversational Floo Network for mass confrences within the school is taking place in the Prefects Lounge, which, if applicable, may come into play eventually.

(Also, Jaren was nicknamed JayJay by the lovely Selena of Slytherin )

There was a fight between 2 boys in the Ravenclaw dorm. One was Riyon. Both are now in the Hospital Wing and Linnea and Raven, who both tried to help have recieved detention for entering the boys dorm.

Branxton is currently having a discussion with the Headmistress as to continue staying on as Potions Master. Apparently, he underestimated what us students are capable of doing in the school. The lovely Headmistress is trying to convince him to stay. Check out the Headmistress' office for complete details.

Also, Fox is Ministry now. It's official. He's secretly spying on all of us to gather information on something and not making much headway. He had a very mysterious conversation in his office with a Milagor through use of those two-way mirrors. Complete details are located in his personal office thread.

And we've yet to actually see the Ministry person who is to inspect us. *is very curious* Remember, all information is considered OOC unless your character was present when it happened or you've been told IC.

Late addition/Edit (9-28-2005): Quidditch Announcements went up in the Common Rooms this morning as well as rules on the game located in the Quidditch Pitch thread. People interested in joining their house teams are required to READ THE RULES THROUGHLY before putting in an application for the team. The house captains are as follows:
