Potions Lesson 1 Professor Branxton approaches the potions classroom and threads his way to through the group of students waiting by the door. He opens it up and prop it open before walking over to his desk as the students file in and take their seats. |
Erica quietly entered the classroom and nodded politely at the professor in a show of greeting before taking a seat. She was eager to see how this professor was since the last one was only interested in baking cookies and singing songs. |
Quietly walking into the classroom I look around at the available seats, walk past the front desk and say "Hello Professor" then head off to take my seat and prepare my things for class. |
olivia walks in and finds a seat by the wall and starts to take out her things and and placed them on the desk. |
Amy wandred into the classroom, nodding at the professor as she took a seat. Settling herself near the window, she began unpacking her items, looking around her as she did so. |
*Cari walks into class and takes a seat close to the door... when she sits she takes out her quiltch, parchment, and her wand out.....then looks up at the professor* |
"Good afternoon, class. I am sure you've had more than your fair share of introductory classes by now but, I bed you to be patient and trudge through yet one more. My name is Professor Branxton and I am this term's potions master. I hope you've all read the rules I have put in place for my class and are ready to begin a term of learning. We will be building upon the principles which were so rudimentarily taught by Miss Melita last term." |
* Cari listens to the professor talk about whats going on this term and gets excited about whats gonna happen* |
Iphigeneia took a seat by the door, set her parchment, quill and ink pot onto the table, set her elbow on the desk to prop up her chin as she listened to the Professor's introductions. |
Erica excitedly began pulling out the materials that would be needed for Potions. Looks like we might be getting an actual Potions class, at last. She trained her eyes forward, ready for the professor to continue with his lesson. |
Lee pranced in with a rather large smirk on his face. This was one of the lessons he was dieing to witness after getting his first glimpse of the new Professor of the subject at the Train station. Lee took a seat in the middle of the class, he was unsure wether to stay away from the Professor or wether to stay close to him, so the mid section was perfectly fine for him. He took out his belongings from his bag and placed them in a neat bundle upon his desk and waited for the lesson to begin with his wand behind his ear and the drum of his fingers upon his desk to keep himself amused and occupied. |
Rave runs into potions as fast as she can to avoid being late. As she slids to a halt out side the classroom door she sees a few students seated before sliding past. After entering the classroom she sits down, takes her thing out of her bag and waits. |
Jenna takes a seat next to Iphigeneia. "Mind if I sit here?" She smiles, and rummages quietly through her bag, taking out her cauldron filled with her potions book, a quill, her inkwell (repaired), and some parchment. She inks her quill and waits to take notes. |
Lauren listened to the professor talk very closely. She had her quill and parchement ready to take notes about the fascinating subject. |
He strode around from behind his desk to lean on the front of it, taking out a hankerchief from his pocket and cleaning his glasses before placing them back on his nose. "Potions is a delicate art and requires immense concentration if one hopes to brew a perfect potion. I must admit that most students seem to lack the discipline required to be truly great in this subject. However, I have high hopes for you who the Headmistress highly vouches for. "To start the lesson, I would lie to go around the room and have each of you state what you believe potions are and what you hope to learn from this class." |
Nadia listened to the professor as he spoke, with a mental grin. I don't know, I learned a couple of things from Melita, she thought half-sarcastically, feeling the inner beltpocket of her coat. Without much to be told, she waited for further instructions, wondering what kind of introduction and safety were they going to review in this case. As the professor went on, Nadia frowned and considered his words. You who the Headmistress highly vouches for... Narrowing her eyes but not giving it any more thought, she put her attention back on class. |
"No, of course not," Iphigeneia replied. She looked pointedly at Jenna's inkwell. "Good - that's fixed," she commented. She would have said more, but was wary of the Professor keeping a keen eye on the class and so gave Jenna a smile before looking once again toward the front of the room. |
"Potions are the end result of a series of ingredients and the steps taken towards combining them together, more often than not in a cauldron," Jaren supplied after raising his hand. "They can either be ingested or applied to the surface of a target for their effects to occur, which range from benificial to hazardous, depending on what potion." |
potions is the form of magic that uses pure skill to make the brew. potions can be used to do anything and change anything the witch or wizard wishes to. |
Quote:
What is a potion? she thought. What do I think it is? She pondered the question for a while, listening once in a while to the other students. |
i hope to learn the discipline that it takes to brew the potions and the preciseness. |
"Potions is the subject which deals with the brewing of concoctions of the magical nature which on action affects the nature of an object, being or whatever it is chosen as target, depending on the capasities of said potion," said Nadia raising her hand, "To what I would personally like to learn at class would be Antidotes, Pre-antidotes and messures against Pre-antidotes, that is, what you drink to neutralize a potion before you actually drink it." |
Kali raised her hand and answered. "Potions are a combination of ingredients, brewed to execute one particular task, for example, Polyjuice Potion itself is brewed to make oneself look physically identical to another person. They have to be brewed exactly, or else the potion can go horribly wrong," Kali paused, "And I wish to learn more about the potion ingredients themselves this year." |
Jenna raised her hand. "Potions are a specific combination of ingredients and spells made to complete one particular task. They are evil, goodness, victory, failure, life, and death that one can brew upon command, with proper training and diligence, of course." She stopped and took a breath. "I hope to learn more about the method of potions making. Sure, you put ingredients into a cauldron, but the magic behind that. The 'right' way to make a potion without just throwing things into the brew." She finshed, feeling her answer was somewhat acceptable. |
Lauren saw everyone getting up to answer the question, She thought for a moment what her answer could be. She waited untill no one else was about to answer and then she began. "Potions are a mixture of ingredients put together to form one outcome. By mixing different ingredients together, You can produce helpful, harmful, or useless potions. They can alter the physical, or mental state of the person depending on what went into making it. " She stopped, and wonderered if her answer was at all correct. |
