Sangeetha raised her hand. 'It is Orchids.'

'pahh, orchids of course', luna thaught, orchids, she didnt bother awnsering as many of the other students had already and it would be pointless

Professor Virohsa shook her head. "They are... certainly not orchids", she replied. "I will give you a hint.. These pictures of the yellow and the pink flower.. are the same flower.. exactly the same flower", she said slowly.

"Violets," Patrick offered as an answer. He wasn't quite sure. "Or maybe a type of Pansy."

"are they petunias?" asked luna, unsure of her awnser

Professor Virohsa shook her head. "No.. they are none of these things", she said slowly. She wondered why the children weren't looking in their books.. "Any other guesses?", she inquired.

Jaren flipped through his Herbology textbook all the while other people were trying to answer the question, though it was taking him a long time to find exactly where it was in the textbook.

Alex flipped through her textbook and tried to find the answer. Although, she realized that she was not the only one who was having trouble finding it. She glaced around the room and noticed that there were quite a few people flipping the pages of their books furiously. With a small sigh, she closed her eyes for a second leaned back in her chair --

Ouch. That had to hurt.

Professor Virohsa was glancing at the students.. waiting to see a hand raised.. when the noise of someone falling made her twitch. "Very well.. another hint it is... The name of this particular flower has 2 words.. The first word describes a particular time frame within a day.. which usually happens when daylight starts decreasing", she said as she struggled to make her voice sound patient..

Alex got up quickly and sat back down in her seat, brushing herself off.

"Is it an evening primrose?" she asked hesitantly, her hand waving in the air.

Professor Virohsa was pleasantly surprised. "Very well! It is, 6 pts for Slytherin. Now, can anyone tell me why it is named "evening"?", she asked the class.

Nadia watched the flowers, one pensive finger on her lips, her head titled to the side. For a second her mind was elsewhere, before she shook her head to get what the professor was saying. Finally, after staring at the flower a bit more her eyes opened and something in her mind clicked.

She raised her hand, "Evening Primrose, or Calylophus serrulatus, professor."

Her arm lowered a bit since she noticed she had been ages too late, frimaced and then tried responding the second question, "Most groups of plants in the evening primrose family (Onagraceae) have flowers that open in late afternoon or evening for pollination hy night-flying insects, but in yellow evening primrose which flowers are open all day."

Alex scanned the book carefully and read everything over twice. Once she was finished reading, her hand shot up in the air.

"They open in the evening, hence the name "evening primrose", and are pollinated by Lepidoptera (Moths and Butterflies) and bees," she remarked quietly, without taking her eyes off the book.

Raising her hand, "Because the petals only open during the evenings"

"they blossom only in the evening" said luna sticking her hand up energetically

Laurasia sighed deeply. "Of course...Evening Primrose. I knew it looked familiar, why couldn't I think of the name?!" she thought to herself, as she took down her notes & waited for Professor Virohsa to continue.

Professor Virohsa nodded. "Very well, Nadia. 5 pts for Slytherin", she replied. "Now, does anyone know why this plant is considered based on the Greek fire element?", she asked the class.

Heshasa flipped slowly through her book, in a weary way. She hadn't gotten much sleep last night. Not being able to find the answer she laid her hand on her head and closed eyes for a breif moment.

Professor Virohsa frowned as she scanned the children. She walked over to the sleeping Gryffindor... "There is NO sleeping in my class!!", she snapped. "10 pts from Gryffindor!", she said loudly enough to wake up anyone.

Nadia raised her hand to hazzard a guess, "Might it be because of its reaction to sun light? The plant flowers react only when the sun light diminishes, maybe because it's not reacting to the light but the temperature. Once the heat of the sun is less felt, I mean. Though, the sun itself is symbol of fire and that alone might do it?"

Professor Virohsa listened intently. "Even though I appreciate the creativity.. I am sure.. that you will find the answer somewhere else", she replied. "Why don't you flip back into what you wrote earlier this class? What I said about greek mythology and fire", she said slowly.

"Or better yet, why don't you all flip into the pages relating to Greek Philosophy and look up the paragraphs about fire elements", she told the class.

Kalaya was not very strong in this subject and wasn't sure of any answers. She was learning plenty already, although if she had been quick enough she could have guessed the answer to the last question and been correct. She flinched slightly when the professor rose her voice to wake the gryffindor, she hadn't notice her sleeping and was taken by surprise. Quickly recovering, Kalaya prepared to try to answer at least one question. Hearing the suggestion by the professor, Kalaya quickly flipped back through her notes with one hand and her book with the other.

Laurasia raised her hand. "Is it because the plant must be cultivated in full sunlight, as well as the transformative properties of the gamma-linoleic acids that are found within its seeds?"

Professor Virohsa nodded. "You are half right..and thankfully dear, it is that half that I was looking for", she explained. "Transformation", she said slowly.

"Transformation.. change.. new... any other synomyms we should be aware of?", she asked the class jokingly. "It is the transformation qualities that makes a plant based on the fire element", she explained.

"Now.. can anyone guess how and why this plant changes colors?", she asked her class.

Athena raised her hand. "Could it be because of the change in temperature or the change in the sun's position?" she asked hesitantly. She scanned through her book trying to find something to support her answer.
