"Dragon claws are believed to have magical powers in helping people to remember things," Xavier puts in, raising his hand. "Also I believe that dragons have something in their throats that help create fire. That could definitely be used for magical uses."

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 09-20-2005 12:46 AM

Nadia raised her hand, "The scales and skin, used as protection accessories like in, say, gloves."

Dainsie 09-20-2005 12:51 AM

There's 2 more... anyone?

Backslash 09-20-2005 12:53 AM

"Dragon liver, heart and horn," Jaren supplied. He had heard someone mention dragon claws, but those weren't exactly classified as its horns.

Dainsie 09-20-2005 01:05 AM

Excellent. There is one thing though that is classed as Class A Non-Tradeable Goods. What is that?

SweetCatastrophe 09-20-2005 01:05 AM

"A dragon egg?" Anila said timidly.

Dainsie 09-20-2005 01:15 AM

That's right, 2 points!

Did you know: Female dragons are bigger than males...

Next we will talk about the different species.

Martha 09-20-2005 01:19 AM

Martha takes careful notes. Dragons had always been her favorite magical creature--and unicorns as well.

gumdrop480 09-20-2005 01:55 AM

Kalaya looked down at her notes-and doodles-and hoped she hadn't missed anything important while she was doodling. Well I was listening carfully while I was doodling so I doubt I did. Thank goodness I learned that skill in Muggle School! Kalaya thought to herself. She then looked up at the teacher, waiting for another question or more information or..something.

HPhobbit 09-20-2005 02:42 AM

Pacilla carefully took notes on the dragons and smiled as she wrote. She didn't exactly like dragons and she defineately wouldn't just love to meet one, but nonetheless, she found them very interesting. She kept her ears open as she took in every word that was spoken, fiddling with her quill a little when she wasn't taking notes.

Jessica scribbled down notes on some parchment as the teacher sounded off facts that Jessica deemed as important. She looked around when the teacher mentioned species. She raised her hand. "The Hungarian Horntail and the Welsh Green are two of my personal favorites. I know that there are others like the Chinese Fireball, and the Norweigan Ridgeback as well." She said, contributing her two cents.

Dainsie 09-20-2005 04:18 AM

Right, so how many known dragon species are there?

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 09-20-2005 04:23 AM

Nadia raised her hand, "There's ten main registered species, and many more if we consider the hibrids."

Backslash 09-20-2005 04:24 AM

Jaren wrote down notes at a leasurely pace, having read up on dragons many many times during his studies at Hogwarts.

Meandering 09-20-2005 04:32 AM

Peony scribbled down her notes messily, and then drew a picture of the long (Chinese: dragon),far more carefully. She loved dragons. Once, when young, and watching a school play about St. George killing a dragon, Peony had caused something of a scene by screaming at the top of her five-year-old lungs for the RPSCA.

Very good! 2 points.

Okay, first one, the most dangerous of all the dragons is the H_____ H______.

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 09-20-2005 04:42 AM

Nadia raised her hand again, "Hungarian Horntail." Maybe a bit too enthusiastically.

Dainsie 09-20-2005 04:51 AM

That's correct, another 2 points. Now, the Horntail is very lizard-like in appearance and has large spikes on its tail, bronze horns, and yellow eyes. They are known for actively hunting humans as well. Can anyone tell me anything else about them?

Mrs. Weasley 09-20-2005 05:07 AM

It has one of the longest fire breathing ranges at up to fifty feet. Its eggs are cement colored and partially hard shelled. Their young club their way out with their tail whose spikes are usually well developed at birth. The Hungarian Horntail feeds on goats, sheep, and whenever possible humans.

vape07 09-20-2005 06:01 AM

vape wrote all the things that she heard about the hungarian horntail, it's the most fascinating thing she heard of..and keep on listening afterwards..

R348753 09-20-2005 04:11 PM

luna raised her hand
"also is it that they are very protective of their young and their eggs?" she said

harry_luvr 09-20-2005 04:14 PM

Adz rose her hand, but before the teacher picked her, her ideas had been said. She rowned at the hufflepuff who had said her ideas, but quickly went back to her normal, cheeky self.

allucha 09-20-2005 04:15 PM

ali raised his hand, clearing his throat,
*hem hem*
'supposedly the most dangerous dragron of all the breeds the hungarian horntail has black scales and is lizardlike in appearance. it has yellow eyes, bronze horns and similarly coloured spikes that protrude from its long tail, the horntail has one of the longest fire-breathing ranges (upto fifty feet)). its eggs are cement coloured and particularly hard-shelled; the young club their way out using their tails, whose spikes are well developed at birth. the hungarian horntail feeds on goats, sheep and, whenever possible, humans'

Drusilla Black 09-20-2005 04:48 PM

Drusilla was still recovering from the attack of the pygmy puff, her ear still tickling. She must have hit the puff the right way, as it left her alone almost immediately. She wondered whose puff it might be, but suspected it to be one of Nadia´s, as it was attacking Jaren a bit too enthusiastically. She felt no other pygmy puff would have the nerve to tickle their Prefect that way. Wait a minute, are those creatures even animals, she thought. And I´m thinking like it would be intelligent enough to know what it is doing ...

When it attacked the Hufflepuff girls eye, she felt like throwing up. Good luck, they hadn´t got any green ones after all, she thought.

babydriver27 09-20-2005 05:55 PM

As Erica took notes she beckoned toward Nadia a look of forgiveness. She didn't mind the pygmy puff on her at all. Sure it felt a little strange to have something dangling from her ear like that, but then again, this term was shaping up to be something totally different from what she had expected at all. It was most definitely one to write home about, minus the detention, of course. Besides, Puffles was adorable and Erica was a plain, old sucker for adorable pets.

Turning her attention back to the professor and the lesson, she continued to take notes and scan her text for extra information, waiting for the right opportunity to earn her house some points.
