Kate was out of breath by the time she made it back to the classroom with her pet. Julius wasn't happy about being back in the cage, but he wasn't too put out when he saw all the other animals. Kate sat at her desk with him. Kate petted Julius head and he meowed at her while watching everyone else. Kate waited for her turn then spoke about her pet. "I bought Julius right before this term started in Diagon Alley. He's a gray and white cat. He's very smart and he's very lovable. He also is a good, I don't know if watchdog is a good term for a cat. He also is very curious, but that is a trait we both have in common." Kate said smiling to herself. Julius was staring at a pygmypuff with his head turned to the side almost wondering what it was. Kate giggled at him when she saw what he was staring at. She placed her hand through the cage and Julius turned his attention back to her and started purring. |
Astoria looked at the tarantula that Jacques owned and shuddered. She hated bugs of any type except butterflies because they were pretty. She tried to think of a way to describe her pet. Once she thought of something, she held Storm up, who was in his cage, and sighed. "Storm was given to me as a present for my thirteenth birthday. He's a two year old Eagle Owl and I've had him ever since. His all time favorite food are these owl treats that my aunt makes at her home. He loves to be out flying, but he's not fussy when he has to stay indoors because of rain or something." |
Fantastic, 2 points to everyone who has offered me information on their pet so far. You may tell me about an animal from home if you do not have one at school. |

Linnea had gotten back as Professor Dainsie had started to tell them to talk about their pets. Silk glared at her through the cage, while Riyon's ferret just slept calmly. She had been surprised she had even found him. She softly stroked Silk's back to keep him calm. He normally did not like people. When it came time for her to share about her pets she shrugged. "I just bought the two pygmy puffs," she started, indicating her shoulders. "I'm not sure if they're boys or girls, so I haven't named them as yet. The cat is Silk, I've named him after a family friend of mine. He's pretty normal, but I sometimes think he believes himself a dog. The ferret," she started. She paused, cleared her throat and continued, "is a boy, he was a gift from someone I love and care for very much. He doesn't seem to need a name, he's more of a friend. He prefers my pocket, for some reason. |
At the new set of instruction, Anelreas poked Amaris in her side and whispered. "Tell her about Tobias!" The cat was hers more than anyone's. Er, with the exception to Zekke who the cat seemed to be utterly devoted to. |
Christy looked at Mia inside her caje. 'My mom gave me Mia when I was seven. Now we are great friends!*smiles* She's a persian cat with brown-gold fur. She loves chasing gnomes and she usualy spends her day sleeping. She is very social and sweet, but sometimes she can be very selfish and too curious!' Christy said smiling and giving some glances to her cat. |

Anelreas poked her on the side, making her jump slightly on her seat. She chewed on the inside of her cheek and raised her hand. "Um," she said choosing her words carefully. She wasn't even sure what Tobias was. It was a type of cat for all she knew. "I have a...cat, yes, a cat named Tobias. He is quite independent. He doesn't like a lot of people. Aaand, oh yes he loves chicken." Amaris lowered her hand thinking she had done the most mediocre job ever. "Tobias is black by the way," she added then turned to Anelreas and whispered. "Where is he by the way?" |
Anelreas shrugged her shoulders lightly. "There was no way he was going to get shoved into a cage, so I couldn't bring him." She glanced at Nadia and Zekke. "I would have guessed he would be stalking this classroom because of all those in it, but I don't see him." Odd. Perhaps he was eating or hunting some poor creature. |
Jen stared at the pygmy puff in front of her. Considering it had just been placed there she knew nothing about it. Except that it was fluffy. But she doubted that information would suffice. She appreciated the gesture, but she failed to see how she was supposed to know anything about the creature. Quote:

Professor Dainsie smiled sadly at Jen, kowing what her problem was, but not knowing how to fix it. She hoped that Jen would visit the Magical Creatures Hospital to get some experience, and maybe even adopt one of the homeless animals. All great so far, everyone who offers information on their pets gets 2 points. Anyone else? |
"Well, as it is, I won't talk about my newest pets but other ones, to have something to say," Nadia started, once her turn came. "My mother has her own birdhouse in our back garden-" Nadia purposedly avoided saying 'and weird feathers', "She loves birds dearly. So she is responsible for most of my pets. Saturnina, family owl, Febo, Deimos and Nightmare, all trained owls. My mother trains them herself. "She has a collection I can't name entirely, but there's at least ten other creatures I can consider mine. They are named after the 10 planets in our solar system - including Pluto and Sedna, that is. They are, um, parrots." "Finally there's Sparky -" here her eyes turned to the phoenix in its cage but tried to make it look as if she refered to another creature. "I didn't exactly choose her, more like... she was the result from an experiment in my first year, part of an assigment with the Transfiguration professor. Sparky is as good as any other phoenix but for slight differences, but that was after we, umh, kind of got her fixed. She is now in good hands." She smirked a bit in the end. "I don't know about quirks and all," Nadia suddenly felt her face grew hot, "my pets are so well trained at home they never give me any problems. They always obey me, soldier style, and likes the food mother brings for them from Argentina." |
As if he had heard his cue, Tobias padded into the class. Anelreas let out a soft gasp and hit her hand to her forehead. The furball needed to be in a cage. Maybe Dainsie wouldn't matter if he wasn't in a cage if he didn't try to kill everything with wings. Though, if he saw a rave, she was sure he would launch himself at it. He had yet gotten over the incident with Edgar. He spotted all the familiar faces and pranced over to the Gryffindor, circling around her legs, rubbing himself against her. |
Amaris, too busy staring at the pigmy puff on her desk, watching for any suspicious movement didn't see Tobias slowly sneak into the classroom. It wasn't until she felt something curl around her legs, that she smiled. "Kitteh," she said softly and bent over to pick up the creature. "What are you doing here?" Amaris placed him on her lap and held him tight with one arm, the other she used to scratch him behind the ears. Perhaps, this way he wouldn't feel the need to go and attack any animals. |
Jacques smiled as Ama picked up the cat that had been sitting on the piano in the common room earlier. He wondered if the cat belonged to her for a moment, but he remembered her telling him she didn't have any pets. "What is that lovely cat's name?" |
Tobias purred loudly and Anelreas gave a low groan. Amaris had spoiled the feline. She probably treated him like a king when Anelreas wasn't looking. He deserved a good owner, yes, but he didn't need to be spoiled. He'd be a big black bob if Amaris continued to love him the way she did. |
Amaris looked up and was taken aback to see Jacques was talking to her. Again. The again it shouldn't be so odd since he did buy her a drink in Diagon Alley. However, Amaris had managed to ruin her good impression by crawling underneath the table and having a row with the enchanted talking wad of gum. "His name is Tobias," she said almost in a whisper, not entirely sure if Tobias wandering into the classroom was a good or a bad thing. |
"Edgar," Jaren said quietly when his turn came, and indicated the raven which was busy doing loop-de-loops over his head in a lazy yet flamboyant fashion, "hates being confined, likes doing aerial aerobatics and, unfortunately, playing pranks. He also loves to be in the center of attention." "On the other hand," and here Jaren was not using the phrase figuratively, as there was indeed something clinging to his other hand, "Alucard is a fruit bat, and reccently belonged to another student. She likes grapes and hates letting go of whatever she happens to be attached to at the moment." In a nutshell, the bat was a tad insecure. But none of them will ever replace Tobias, he added mentally. He wasn't referring to Rea's cat, but another raven he had before these two pets. Speaking of the devil...Jaren glanced down and noticed that Rea's cat had wandered into the classroom, and subconciously shifted the arm Alucard was clinging onto to a more defensive position. |
"That is an interesting name, for an interesting cat no less. I noticed he has favourites, like you and that Slytherin prefect over there" Jacques gestured over at the older boy sitting with two birds on his shoulders. Jacques was keen to meet this boy, and felt bad he hadn't already been introduced. He decided there was probably time for that later. |
"Cage?" Zekke murmured under his breath to Reas and Ama with an arched eyebrow. He summoned a cage and offered it to either of them. Despite the fact that... Tobias might be a well-behaved cat, it wouldn't do to have animals of any sort running about. At least... not right now? |
Tobias growled when he saw the familiar raven. He dug his claws into Amaris's lap, his ears slowly going back. Oh, how he hated that bird. If he was to kill only one thing this term, it would be the blasted thing. Anelreas scooted her chair over, away from the insane feline and Gryffindor girl. This wasn't going to be good. When Zekke offered them a cage, Anelreas had to choke back a laugh. "If you can get him in it, be my guest." She whispered back to him. |

Amaris finally noticed Jaren. This wasn't really bad at all. The only thing slightly disturbing about this fact that he had his bird of carnage commonly known as Edgar. Ama instinctively held Tobias tighter hoping nothing crazy would happen in the class. She didn't need the drama right now. Please. Amaris looked at Zekke and glanced at Anelreas. Tobias didn't like cages. She winced when the cat dug into her lap. "Ouch Tobias quit it," she hissed. Amaris stood up, still holding Tobias tightly. She frowned at Jaren, as if to dare him to step any closer. |
Tobias didn't even realize when Amaris stood. She was holding him, and he continued to flex his nails underneath him. All of his attention was focused on the raven. He'd have growled, but the last time he did, the raven attacked him. Anelreas eyed Tobias, then glanced up at Amaris. "If you want to keep your arms whole, you might as well let him loose and allow him to try to kill himself." |
Anna looked over the the Proffessor and copied down the homework. She read over the questions, answering them in her head as best as she could. She tried to recall a few of them, but no luck, she'd have to go back through her notes. She glanced over at Amaris, and the cat she was holding. Anna always liked cats, ever since met Muffy. The tabby cat that had adopted her when she was 8, always coming by for food and water. |
Zekke took down the requisite notes for class, nodding to Professor Dainsie in regards to their assignment before he turned his attention back to the cat. "Tobias, was there something you wished to speak to me about?" Zekke asked the cat, in all seriousness. The cat, after all, had sported a "I wanted to talk with you" sort of look back in the Common Room. Maybe the cat would get distracted enough to "talk" with him? Maybe? He gave the cat an inviting look and held out his arms in question. |
