Rae rose and came to assist the Ravenclaw girl. "Try it again."

A little embarrassed, Martha takes a deep breath and makes a stabbing motion with her wand, turning it counterclockwise while saying, "Ennervate!" Martha unconciously holds her breath, hoping that the spell worked.

:: She threw the pillow behind him and stepped a few feet back. "Alright. Here it goes!" She extended her arm and said a bit loudly, "STUPIFY!" She twisted her wrist just perfectly. The spell went flying at Jaren. ::

Rae watched the girl's partner suddenly wake. "You did it perfectly. Excellent job."

ooc: I'm watching, but we'll reconvene tomorrow for more if you're just waiting around for me.

Noel looked around as everyone paired off, looking for a partner. She silently practiced the wand movement on the table as to not waste time.

ooc: I'm not sure if everyone's paired off I might have to edit later depending on when Professor Rae gets back.

Well, the next person to her... What a problem. Either Sangeetha or Alex, she had one at each side and seemly both partnerless. Ugh. Who to choose? She didn't want to hurt the other. She turned from one to another... People were already gathering... so much doubt in her it was obvious in her expression.

"Um, what about you partner one another?" she finally offered, lost of what to do and finding it the only way out of it. Perfect plan, eh? Save for a small detail... she was not partnerless. Adn then she spotted her savior -

"Noel!" she said walking up to her. "Partnerless too? Thanks Merlin, I thought we were odd numers. Go ahead, you can stun me first," she offered.

Noel looked up, she had been so focused Nadia had snapped her out of her thoughts, "Oh yeah I don't have a partner," she stood up and straightened out her robes. She raised her wand and lunged forward as she said, "Stupefy!" boldly, the spell aimed right between Nadia's eyes.

Nadia was just getting herself, um, comfortable for the spell (wait, 'ready', the word fitting is ready, so scratch that), getting ready when Noel casted the spell. Seemly she wasn't completely ready, because when the spell came, a sudden panic that came with duelling and reflect to avoid the spell kicked in.

It was seconds before she would move away that she a rational part of her mind went 'wait, you are not suppossed to move' and in the hesitation, she covered herself with her arms quite pathetically and without point as the spell zoomed to her and evetually, of course, hit, making it all black to Nadia...

Noel's hand raised to her mouth when she saw Nadia try to cover her head, maybe she should have been less- er sudden. She quickly kneeled down next to Nadia and said, "Ennervate," stressing the wand movement, then she took hold of Nadia's arm and pulled her up, although she hadn't done much training in a while Noel still had the strength of a seventh year boy.

Nadia felt herself awake, though feeling like she could take a nap, she turned around and tried to ignore everybody else and go back to sleep. But Noel was more astute and had not only enervated her but pulled her up. To which point, driven as a marionette, she looked up in the sudden sitting position looking around.

"Oh, yeah, we were practicing," she commented and pulled herself up. Re-arranging her glasses that had fallen to the side, and trying to recall if this was the Duelling club or class, she moved into position again. Man, she had fallen easily - some people should be able to stand a Stupefy without going to sleep.

But, this was Nadia and to make her sleep you only needed some camomile tea, honestly...

"Very good," she said, trying not to yawn while she leviated some pillows behind Noel. Ah, she had just tasted how it was like to fall on the hard floor (not the first time either), not pretty thing. "Ready?" she called, then whipping her wand with a cloackwise twist in the end called, "Stupefy!"

Noel was knocked back onto the pillows, so this is where magic and boxing collide she thought to herself before she blacked out. Noel had always known the proper way to fall, she had been knocked out before and she had been ready for Nadia's spell, her robes fell neatly around her and she faced right.

Nadia moved closer, watching Noel first as if to make sure it was indeed asleep and not faking it. No idea why she would think Noel was faking it, maybe to be polite. Or a sudden doubt in her abilities? She pulled Noel to face upwards as she thought this as if there was any point.

After making a funny face at her body to make sure she was asleep, she waved her wand like before but oppossitely and commanded, "Enervate." A light touched the body before disappearing in it, and letting the girl awake.

Noel felt consciousness stream back into her head, it was a strange spell, enervate, she felt as though she was being risen from the dead, "Thanks, good job," she said quickly, getting back on her feet. She rose her wand, choosing not to aim at the bridge of Nadia's nose, she might break the girl's glasses. "Stupefy!" she said loudly, aiming a bit closer to Nadia's forehead, trying to make the spell a bit less intense than her first, Nadia seemed tired and Noel wasn't as good at Enervate.

"You OK, right?" she asked, titling her head, before personally deciding the answer was yes. Nadia repositioned herself, waiting for the spell to come. In fact, she asked for some time out and placed some pillows behind her for a bottom-friendly landing.

It was her turn anyways, so, she went back to waiting. In fact, wouldn't it be better if she went on and, um, put her wnad again. She didn't trust her nerves to tell the trust... besides, having te girl point to your head instead to whichever other place was actually a bit, um, disturbing...

And there we go again, she was knocked cold into the mountain of pillows (this time), loosing ballance backwards even as the spell hadn't reached her. Now she was laying, face up... snoring.

Jaren willed himself to remain completely motionless as the spell came at him and hit him point blank in the chest. The thought that he might aim to fall on the pillow never occured to him as he was knocked senseless backwards, landing with a thud next to the pillow.

That had to hurt.

Once Noel performed the counter course (hope you don't mind I quicken things up ) Nadia woke up, this time a bit faster - in fact, she sat up bolt right and stared around. Oh, right. DADA class, she thought as she stood and... Had she been drooling? This was starting to feel a bit... embarrassing. (And that said taking into account she didn't even know half of it.)

"Alright, my turn," she decided, or rather stated because it was indeed her turn. A mild suspicion that somebody had poisoned her wit Confussing Concoction came to mind. Next, she waved her wand-hand with the correct wand movement and a spell shot out of it towards Noel. And then she noticed.

Oh, drat, that had been a non-verbal spell.

Sangeetha stood partnerless. Well, she had nothing to lose, picking a pillow nearby, she raised her wand, confidently.

'Stupefy.' Nothing happened. So much for doing it confidently. She tried yet again. This time it had worked. Silently congratulating herself, she tried un-stunning them.

'Ennervate.' It worked. But she was getting bored. She wanted a partner. It would be so much better with a partner than to use a stuffed up pillow.

:: Ganymede's face went a bit pale, "Oh dear! You were supposed to hit the pillow!" She scolded Jaren's unconsious form. "Enervate!" Ganymede quickly performed the spell, making sure her hand writst spun the correct way. "I think I'll go get another pillow." She suggested. ::

Jaren came to and jerked himself into a sitting position, ignoring the throbbing pain from the back of his head and spine. Ganymede had improved considerably on her defensive spellcasting.

:: Ganymede saw that Jaren was pretty much ok. "Jaren, I'm gonna lay down a few more pillows." She told him before scurring off to do just that. She came back only seconds later with 3 more pillows. "I'll just pile them up a bit behind me. Then you can let it rip!" She told him as she placed the pillows in a 'T' formation behind her. "Ok.. I'm ready!" She inhaled deeply and waited, looking straight at him. ::

Rosa looked around, but couldn't find anyone to practice with, so she just practiced the wand movements a few times without saying the spell, hoping somebody'd come and practice with her.

Jaren got up and dusted his robes off, wincing slightly as something popped back in place before shaking his wand out of his sleeve and levelling it at Ganymede.

"Stupefy!"

So, she thinks it´s that simple, Drusilla thinks to herself. Before she has even turned her head to see who there were, everyone seemed to have found their pairs.

We had Ministry around last year, shouldn´t they have taught us a bit of the PR-thingy, she thinks and giggles quietly. She usually rather worked alone, so finding a pair was not her strongest ability when she had no friends nearby.

Noel was caught completely off guard, she was knocked out before she could have even wondered if Nadia had said the spell. She fell hard on her spine, letting out a gasp although she was unconcious.

Karen looks all around for someone to practice with and spots a Ravenclaw girl practicing wand movements by herself. She sighs with annoyance and thinks, "Well, I have to partner up with someone..." Karen approaches the girl and asks, "Excuse me, but I noticed you are without a partner. Do you mind practicing with me?"
