OOC: I'm so sorry about that. I had a major power failure last night. Everything went crazy.

It was an interesting feeling having part of you frozen. The best way she could describe the sensation would be to say it felt like putting your arm in a refrigerator. She shivered slightly as Zekke reversed the spell. Now it was her turn.

She concentrated on the incantation and wand movement for a second before trying the spell.

"Glacies Transeo!" she commanded, aiming at Zekke's arm and making three sharp flicks with her wand.

Oh, yes, Nadia thought as she watched Alex's bottle explode, she was not liking this one bit - that with putting that spell on her arm.

Nadia waved her wand correspondingly and then, she watched amazed how the freezed side of the bottle (the upper part), started melting at fast speed, then the mass of ice fell to the water below like an iceberg, finally turning water in record time. At least that part worked...

Breathing a sigh, she turned to find that Alex was looking her way. Heh. Enthusiastic girl, wasn't she?

But then she looked distracted and went over professor Rae, bringing just the thing, subject, she was fearing. But, no, Nadia knew her own was an irrational fear. The botter exploding was caused by the pressure when the water expanded BUT the plastic bottle compressed.

It still... got her edgy... but she knew all odd were that wouldn't happen... unless of course, she hapened to fall over her own frozen arm and by chance breaking it into pie--
(*Cue nervous laughter as she waited Alex to return*)

Zekke experimentally wiggled his fingers around and found that the sensation was much like sticking his lower arm into a refrigerator for about ten seconds and then...

The chill, which would normally go away on its own, stayed put. So it felt like time was frozen around his arm, which felt like it was stuck in the refrigerator for ten seconds.

He supposed that once they all had more practice with the spell, then the freezing effect would be more intense and complete, but as it was...

"You're definitely getting it," He nodded.

Jaren finally aimed his wand at the water bottle, performing the trianglar wand motion.

"Glacies Transeo."

The spell hit the water bottle, which gave off a faint bluish glow and the contents misted over somewhat, though by the swirling of the mist it was clear he hadn't frozen it solid. He paused, rehersing the wand motion before casting the spell again. "Glacies Transeo!"

The bottle he targeted exploded spectacularly, spraying shards of ice everywhere.

Noel looked around the room for a partner, hoping this spell would come as easily to her as "Stupefy" had.

Jen was shocked. None of her spells had ever worked the first time she tried them. She was surprised Zekke felt anything at all. She smiled slightly, pleased with herself.

"Fervefacio!" she said clearly, aiming at his arm again. When it appeared that his arm had thawed she let out a small sigh of relief.

"Would you like to try again?" she asked Zekke, extending her left arm for him to freeze.

Terry sits at her desk and listens to Professor Rae explain the new charms. The freezing Hex seems a bit severe even for Voldemortist. Then Terry remembers he rarely shows any mercy to his victims, so why should they. After Professor Rae is finished, Terry practices the wand motions for both spells. Flick your wand three times in a triangular motion for the freezing hex, and flick your wand back and forth in three short flicks left, right, left only about two inches apart for the reversal charm. After Terry is sure she has mastered the motions, she goes and get a bottle off of the professor's desk. She places it on the book shelf, and gets ready to perform the spells. Terry stares at the bottle, performs the triangular motion three times and says Glacies Transio over and over again in her mind. A blue flash of light comes out of her wand and hits the bottle, but it doesn't break. She walks over and examines it. The bottle is full of ice, but there is still some unfrozen water in it. Obviously her spell was not strong enough. Terry stares at the bottle again, performs the left to right motions, and says fervefacio over and over in her mind. The water defrosts. She then performs the spell again saying Glacies Transio over and over again in her mind. This time the water freezes and the bottle burst. "Excellent!" Terry walks over to where the broken glass is and points her wand at it. She says Butticula Reparo over and over again until the bottle repairs itself. Terry then performs the refilling charm. With the bottle full of water again, she performs the hex again.

Laurasia wrote down her notes regarding the new spells that they would be practicing after Zekke had helped her to her desk & she had thanked him. When she was finished she went to the front of the class & retrieved a water bottle to practice with before trying to find a partner to work with.

She checked her notes & practiced the wand movement for a few moments, making very ditinctive & sharps angles in the air....up, down, right, up, down, right, up, down, right.

Feeling that she had the movement down, she practiced the incantation itself. "Glacies Transeo." Once she had the pronunciation right, she practiced the counter-charms wand movement. 3 sharp flicks back & forth..."Fervefacio."

Feeling much more confident in herself, she focused her attention on the bottle in front of herself & took her dueling stance. She quickly made the 3 sharp triangles in the air & stated her incantation..."Glacies Transeo!" The water bottle turned icy blue, swelled a bit, & finally exploded in a rain of ice chunks.

Laurasia smiled widely, pleased with the outcome. Quickly she began to scan the classroom for a potential partner.

Mari yawen quite bored. She put up her wand and did the spell easily. This was to easy. She looked around and saw that most of the others were having a lot of problems with the spell. Some looked shocked and others just stare at the rest highly bemuse. She smile and closed her eyes while the rpoffesor gave them something more difficult to do.

Kristal did the spell one more time, assuring herself she could do it. With a simple, lazy wand movement, she accomplished the spell easily. She looked over the a nearby hufflepuff girl and smiled. "Pretty easy, isnt it?"

"Well, it seems we've run way over time. Please clean up your bottles of water and pack up your supplies. You may practice Stupefy and Ennervate in the Duelling Arena, but please do not practice the Frostbite Hex unless I am present. Your homework is as follows." She flicked the following words on the board.

"Defense Lesson 2 homework: Please think of three non-defensive spells that can be used for defensive and write a full paragraph for each. Use your imagination and creatitivity. The assignment is due October 5th at 11:59 pm (EST)."

Jaren repaired the shattered frozen bottle and replaced it where he had gotten it before turning to jot down the homework. As long as the Frostbite Hex didn't hit anything other than inanimate objects it should prove to be more than interesting to study...but...he had other things to do on top of that.

He packed up his things, ready to leave.

Zekke was about to tell Jen, "Sure," but was silenced when Professor Rae announced the end of class and their homework assignment.

He quickly went back to his seat and made note of the assignment and packed his things.

Nadia pocketed her wand as the professor called it for the day. Ahe took a mental notice of the assigment as she couldn't reach for parchment and quill in record time when the desk was in the other side of the room, and did consider a whole list she had already thought out.

Well, that had been one thing she had thought out since the first year. 'Had seven years to think them up...

Anyways, after the announcement, she moved to the desk finally, writing down the key words and deadline. Five days to complete it. Finally she went to pocket on her bag all needed. She stopped on her track before moving from her seat, though, and stayed, pensive, not failing to spot a couple known faces.

"Thanks for the great lesson, Professor Rae." Patrick commented as he gather his things. He was glad Rae was still teaching. She was excellent and knew what facing the Dark Arts were about. She taught them real things they could use. "See, you next class Professor."

ACK, I guess time just flew by and she didn't even realize it. After all, time flies when you're having fun, no? Alex looked at the shattered pieces from the bottle that were still on the floor. She might as well clean up the mess she had made. "Evanesco!" she commanded under her breath and the pieces of glass disappeared off the floor, leaving it clean and spotless, like it was when she had first arrived in the classroom.

She walked slowly between the rows of seats, trying her best not to bump into people along the way or trip over something like she usually did. She quickly wrote down the homework on an empty piece of parchment and placed her quill and the parchemnt inside the bag, carefully.

Well, she was always up for a good duel, but at the moment she was not feeling her best. Maybe later though, she had quite enjoyed the duel with Nadia not too long ago.

Slowly she walked over to Jaren and spoke."Up for a duel later on?" she asked him, quietly. Erm, she kind of knew that he usually duelled with Nadia, Gany or Zekke, but from what she had seen last time they were in the duelling arena, he was an amazing dueller and besides, the only way to improve was to go against people that are more advanced then you. Right?

Jen returned to her seat and wrote down the announcement. Making sure she had gathered all her things, she smiled at the Professor.

"Thanks for the excellent lesson Professor," she said on her way out of the classroom.

Packing up her things Heshasa waved goodbye to the professor and headed back to her common room.

Hearing the professors' announcement, Laurasia quickly packed up her things & wrote down her homework assignment before leaving the classroom.

Mari looked at the proffesor with a smile, she then turn to the Grinffindor girl and smile even wider.
"Yes its to easy, its a shame the class over, at least I know someone now. Wouldn't like staying all year alone. Well see you later."
She the packed all her things quietly while the rest of the class went out.

Noel packed up her things and jotted down the homework, she left the classroom hurriedly.

Without really awaiting for an answer, Alex just gave Jaren a small, sheepish grin that last for about half a second. "I'll take that as a yes." She had already talked to Nadia and knew that she would duel with him first, but she could just duel with him afterwards, that was no problem.

With a small nod to the Professor, she left the classroom without another word to anyone.

Jaren looked up and nodded shortly at Alex's request, having never turned down a duelling challenge yet--and he needed practice.

Wordlessly he slung his bag over one shoulder and left the classroom.

Ozzy packed his things up and headed for the door. "That was a brilliant lesson Professor." He said and smiled before leaving the room.
