Rosa raised her hand. they'd already discussed this a bit with the dark spells. 'a wizard using a dark spell could even use it to prevent the dark wizard from more harm being done.' she said. 'but a dark wizard wouldn't only do it for the power it'd provide him, but also because he enjoys to make people frightened or hurt them.'

"A Dark Wizard takes pleasure out of using the Dark Spells and doing harm, but a wizard who uses dark spells probably uses them becuase they must, for..one reason or another."

"I think a Dark Wizard uses his powers for Dark, and he/she knows what they're doing. Like, if someone's being possessed and using dark magic, they wouldn't be considered dark." Sarah said as she raised her hand. "And no, I don't think using a dark spell once would make you dark."

they can be repelled by hexes like stupefy and kicking

"Not if you use it on occasion. More of the thinking, if you use the magic to protect another, or yourself. To protect something that is good."

"well you don't really need to use dark spells to be a dark wizard professor. that is the way i see it. you can use dark spells occasionlly but still can be a dark wizard."

"It depends on what spell they use," she said, slowly. "And some people might have to use one without really wnjoying it. Although, those who do enjoy and have the hunger for more power, that's what I think the difference is between Dark Wizards and someone who uses a Dark spell," she added, frowning at the same time. She was getting really unsure of her answers.

"I like all of your definitions. Terry, you did an excellent job encompassing the concept... and thank you for bringing up the idea that using Dark Magic steals one's humanity. I think we definitely have seen that in the Dark Wizards of this century. Five points."

Rae set down her wand and settled back on her desk. "We have one last thing to discuss. In this class, there will be times when we use our wands on each other in a duel or practice setting. Let's lay down some ground rules for that please. Any ideas?"
