Terry raises her hand. "Dark Curses would include teh Jelly-Leg Jinx, the Sectumsempra Curse, and the Taranteallegra Curse. Professor Rae, can't any spell be considered Dark Magic if the intention of the wizard is to do harm to the person the spell is cast upon?" |
Rae pointed to Adz. "I like the way you're thinking. Conjunctivis is a common Defense spell, but I'm sure if you used it on a friend, they'd feel it was fairly Dark." She nodded, knowing that Adz had hit on the heart of Defensive magic in a way before looking up at Rosa's answer. "I've heard of this Transmogrifian Torture, although it has in recent years come out of discussion on Gilderoy Lockhart's books. I've never actually experienced the spell, but that's using your head. Five points to Slytherin and Ravenclaw." |
' Well...other Dark Spells are Serpensortia, the Stinging Hex, which causes a stinging pain in the victim and Sectumsempra. But I don't have sure if they're dark magic' Christ responded. |

"Professor, i heard Gildroy Lockharts' books were no longer valid. Is this true?" |
Raven listened to her classmates speak and wrote down the spells and what they did. She over heard Levicorpus and smiled knowing exactly who to try that on. She looked back at Atwone and nodded. She was going to let Professor Rae answer his question even though that was quite old news relating to Gilderoy Lockhart. |

A dark spell came to Antwone's mind... "How about the Stinging Hex, it produces a stinging sensation in a victim." |
Adz turns to Marvolo. "True" she agreed. "And annoying too apparently..." |
Christy was taking notes madly. All the spells, criatures and dark objects were carefully written in her parchment. She was really happy for her accomplishments, she had earn points for her house. She couldn't be more flattered. |
"Sectumsempra is definitely a Dark Spell, Alex. Five to Slytherin. There is no cause for that sort of bodily harm in simple dueling or defense. AS for those other spells, I believe they fall into that same catagory as what your classmate suggested - defensive spells. Raven, those are all Dark objects that we've heard about through oral and written history of Harry Potter. Five points." She held up her hands to get the classes attention. "There's no need to repeat someone else's answer. I only reward points for an answer once, and I won't give out points constantly regardless. Now... let me address a few of these questions. Terry, yes... I suppose that's a true generalization for now. If you're hexing someone just to hex them, your intent is malicious. That probably would be considered a Dark action, if not a Dark spell. Antwone, there are many who still hold to his books as fact, so I will not belittle his work. However, I do think serious questions of validity can be raised from his writings. Let's move on, shall we? Let's list some defensive spells." |
Afton looked around. all the darker spells she knew had been taken. she couldnt remember anymore at the moment though. she looked around waiting for the professor to ask another question. |

Afton raised her hand. "I know protego(sp?) is a defensive spell. though i dont think its dark..." She frowned. |
Antwone raised his pale hand. "I believe Ennervate is a defensive spell. It is a counter to the Stunning Spell." |
"Protego is a defensive spell... if you can tell me what it does, I'll give you five house points," Rae smiled at Afton. "And the same goes for you, Antwone... what does Ennervate do?" |

"Diffindo cuts smothing open or in half," she said with her hand raised. "Protego is a spell that creates a magical barrier and deflects charms, hexes, jinxes or any type of harmful spell." |
"Exspelliurmus.dang it someone already said it." |
'I think Protego, The Shield charm, Protean, Expelliarmus and Impedimenta are DEfensive Spells, Professor' Christy said. |
