Heshasa scratched her head, "Trying to think but her mind was a bit fogged over. Staring out the window she could not think of anything at the moment. But perhaps this event had yet to happen, or maybe her mind was just to fogged over to think. Shaking her head she turned back to her cup.

She put a bit of water back in and swirled it around. Turning it upside down she let the water run out. Shw saw a few more images one close to the handle looked like a crab. She thought wow my zodiac sign. Looking back in she saw something that looked like a paw/claw from a big cat like a tiger or lion near the bottom. Seeing one more clump near the edge she tried to decipher it turning it in a 360 she thoguht it looked a bi like a maple leaf. Hmm odd she thoguht.

"Really?" Laurasia replied with a curious expression. "Well, you're right about the arrow pointing towards the handle. It is. The part about coming into alot of money worries me though, especially when coupled with the possibility of someone trying to take it. That sounds like it would be family-related, & I can only imagine what that means," she said with a frown.

After scrutinizing the interior of her teacup for almost 15 minutes, Nabiya raised a hand to grab Professor Kotkin's attention. "Professor, I'm positively sure that my teacup has nothing more to show me..unless that one over there is a pebble,and if you turn the cup at just a particular angel to get the particular amount of sunlight, and squint just a little bit, that one over there looks like a blade of grass..but besides that,im sure theres nothing more."

Patrick decides to have another go at cup and its tea leave. He pours just a teaspoon or so of water back into the cup and swirls them again. He turns the cup upside down again to allow the water to run off. He turns the cup over and looks at the leaves again.

This time Patrick has three clear images. First on the handle side he see a circle with a spokes so he assumes it is a wheel. Then he see triangle with a line on its top sort of like a seesaw. The final object was a ball with wings, he looked again. It was a snitch. He saw a snitch...

Kiaria looked at her cup with interest. It didn't seem to have any distiguishable shapes in it, although she tried her hardest. She muttered incoherently a few times, and paged through her book.

ooc: I apologize for the 'pause' in my class. I haven't been able to get on line since the Hurricane... but I should be on later today, and I'll be on tomorrow.
So it rains again... and I lost power for about an hour!!!

Professor Kotkin smiled and said, "The rose means good fortune and happiness, a very lucky sign too! It could also mean love or romance ahead. So maybe this means, along with the bird, that you will be receiving some good news about or from someone who has feelings for you!"

"Well, the moon is also a symbol of good fortune and prosperity! I guess, along with the flower, you have something good to look forward to."

"The crab as the sign of cancer means secretiveness, or vulnerabilty behind a tough exterior, as well as strength and love in domestic matters. Leaves are an indication of happiness, prosperity and success. It could also mean a new life. The tiger means luck in money and speculation, whereas the lion means courage, loyalty and leadership. The foot or paw shows swiftness is needed to succeed, or that you will need to journey further to succeed. With the paw being near the bottom, it seems you will have luck in money or some other success, but will have a journey to get there. The crab shows your need to rely on your strength and the leaf shows you will have happiness and success as well."

Professor Kotkin turned and saw Nabiya's hand. The pebble or rock could mean a potential hazard. With care you can surmount it and then use it to climb to a greater height. The grass stands for discontent with a present situation that is looming before you. This may reflect an inner restlessness. Along with the other symbols, it would suggest that you have something to overcome that is causing you some anxiety, but in the end, you will succeed and find pleasure and inner peace in your success."

Jessica squinted into her cup and moved it at a particular angle so that the sunlight fell directly on it.
"Professor," she said, raising her hand slowly. "I think I see something very much like a horse - but if you turn it like this" - she turned her cup slowly - "It looks very much like a flower or a circle. What does it mean, please?"

Professor Kotkin peers into Patrick's cup. "The wheel represents travel and change. It could also mean an inheritance coming. The seesaw shows that fluctuations in you circumstances or opinions need to be balanced, or you might not be capable of reading other's mood swings. Oh, and the snitch too!! That has got to be a good sign of fortune for the Gryffindor's quidditch match. I hope together it means that you are being encouraged to balance your game by relying on your inherited skill to play and earn big points for Gryffindor!!"

"professor," Jessica asked. "What does this sun mean?" she pointed to her cup.

Professor Kotkin noticed Kiaria straining to see something in her cup and looking discouraged. "Dear, you need to relax and close your eyes, clear your mind.... then count to three and open your eyes again. You can't strain to see, you must let the images just appear before you. See, there, those curved lines form a rainbow. It could mean something you've been wishing for will come to you soon!"

Professor Kotkin turned to Jessica. "The sun represents your talents, achievements, success and ambition. It could also mean a trip to a sunny place. The horse stands for travel as well. It could also mean you will encounter someone who you will find is unselfish and reliable. A circle means success of some kind. Do you think now, the circle is a sun or do you still see a flower or a horse?"

Kiaria looked up. "Really?" she smiled. "Awesome!" She closed her eyes, cleared her mind, and counted to three in her head. Then she opened her eyes and looked in her cup. "I see a club, I think. Is that what that is?" She bit her lip.

Professor Kotkin gazed into Kiaria's cup. "Where are you looking? Do you mean a club like in the deck of cards, or like a weapon?"
"The clubs symbol represents bright ideas, creativity, curiosity and a thirst for adventure."

Ginny blushed and smiled shyly.

Jessica squinted in her cup. Did she see a horse or a sun or a what, she thought. She closed her eyes, relaxing her mind and stared in the cup.

"ARRGGGHHH!!!" she thought. "ITS ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME!" she wanted to smash her cup in anger but she kept her temper.

She closed her eyes again, trying to relax, not to think of anything. She peered in her cup again, half turning it. She could clearly see a sun. Yes, she turned it quickly. It was still the sun.

"Professor," she said. "I see the sun."

Violet stared at her cup and saw a lion and some people who looks like they're dancing.
"Professor, What does that mean? it's weird that I see two people dancing...."

ooc: I'm sorry about the Hurricane. Are everybody in your family or your close friends alright?

"Professor, the sun's totally disappeared...Wait! Now it's a - a - a - a rose and a - "she squinted in her cup, trying to figure out what it was. "A - a - yew - some sort of plant herb thingy..."

Looking into her cup with a renewed interest, Nabiya thought about what the professor just said. Yes,she was feeling apprehensive and nervous with the upcoming exams (ooc:crazy AS finals) and the "potential" hazard could mean what would happen if she doesn't revise enough...but it would all turn out okay and she'd be successful if she did revise!
Grinning, Nabiya turned to her notebook and wrote down what Prof. Kotkin had said.

Heshasa smiled divination was definatly her favorite subject. Bringing herself back to reality. She stared out the window deep in thought.

Kiaria pointed to a long shape. "Right here, Professor. It looks like a weapon, I think."

Kalaya glanced around the room and spotted Jessica.
Sticking her nose back in her cup. Then she found a sun and a feather.
