Class 2 - Divination - Tasseomancy
 

Professor Kotkin opens the hatch and lets down the ladder leading to the tower where Divination Class takes place. As you enter, the room has shelves filled with items like frilly teapots and matching cups and saucers, as well as glass balls of various sizes and other strange objects like stones and cystals of different shapes, colors and sizes. The tables are large and round, covered with lace tablecloths and surrounded by comfortable poofy chairs.

Professor Kotkin waves her wand over the large fireplace set in the wall behind her desk and the flames rise up around a giant kettle filled with water. She sets out tins filled with different flavors of tea leaves, hoping the students will find one to their liking. She sips on a cafe mocha, her preferred drink of choice, while she waits for her students to take their seats.

Violet comes and seems to be the first one. She says "Hello Proffessor, the tea leaves look very interesting sir."

"Sir?" said (Serena) Professor Kotkin blushing. "I hoped my long hair and flowing robes didn't make me look too masculine! Yes, they smell good too! I love that tea comes in so many flavors to choose from. And the leaves are even more interesting after we've prepared and drank our tea. Let's hope they reveal something good today!"

"climbing up the many flights of stairs has got to be illegal!" nabiya thought to herself as she reached the top.
stepping into the cozy little class she saw her housemate and sat down next to him. "hi, you're lee right? i guess i'll be your seatin partner today." she said as she took the seat.

"hello, professor,i love the smell of freshly brewed tea! it's so...nostalgic" she said as she sniffed the air,smiling at her teacher.

"hello proffessor" said luna as she took a seat near the front of the class, she enjoeyd divination

smiling at her housemate she leaned in to him slightly "it is an achievement, most people cant remember my name..it's kind of embarrassing really." she confided.

taking out her copy of advance divination, a quill and a piece of parchment, she prepared herself for the upcoming lesson. "looks like we're going to read tea leaves today!" she said excitedly to Lee.

Nadia walked into the classroom and the smell of apple flavored tea filled her nostrils. Or was it an illusion? With some luck a vision of something in the future, hopefully. She looked at the huge kettle and peeked in but the water was just boiling, so they hadn't started, eh? Since no made tea was around, she went over to her desk and sat down, believing that the practical would come a bit later. This was her kind of practical, too.

Laurasia entered the classroom & a smile instantly spread across her face. Tea! Oh this was going to be wonderful.

"Hello Professor Kotkin. It's good to see you today," she said as she took her seat. She was eager to begin the tea leaf reading, as it had been a while since she had tried her hand at it.

Patrick wished he could fly his broom to the top of the tower instead of walking to it. At last he reached the ladder and climbed the last few feet into the Divination Classroom. Once in the class he took a seat and took out his textbook. Spotting the tea sitting out he turned his book to the Reading tea leaves chapter and scanned it.

Ginny entered the classroom. She sat down and took out her text book. She was looking forward to Tasseomancy.

Peony was almost crawling as she entered the class. Exertion was not her favorite of activities, whether it was running, or climbing up stairs. If she could have read thoughts, she would have concurred with Nabiya --

Whoever built this steps should burn in the deepest levels of -

She flung herself into a seat, and tried to catch her breath.

All those years of feeding toxic into your body are catching up on you...

There was a miniexplosion from the corner Peony was sitting in as she accidentally tore the papers she was holding in half.

Ginny spotted Peony and waved hello to her.

Violet took out her textbook and waited for the class to begin.

Sangeetha entered and got a sudden waft of smell, like mixed flavours of tea leaves. She looked around. She saw many Crystal Ball, Saucers, Cups, Stones and quite a lot of things. She took a seat at the back and settelled herself.

Pacilla tiredly climbed the stairs up to the divination room. She wasn't particularly fond of the subject but knew she should at least try to learn the subject. As she entered the aroma of tea met her nostrils and she was a little confused because normally you didn't drink tea in a classroom... she moved to sit down on one of the pouffy chairs and took out her textbook, quill, and wand because she wasn't sure what they'd be needing that day.

luna breathed in the perfume and sighed ,tea leaves were an interesting part of divination and she was keen to start the class, she sat at her seat and waited for the other pupils to come in

Professor Kotkin smiled down at her students, some who seemed a bit winded. She always enjoyed the exercise of climbing, even if it was stairs.

"Hello class!" she said as she raised her wand to the blackboard behind her. Waving it one word appeared... TASSEOMANCY ... "Today, we will be studying the branch of divination called tasseomancy. Can someone please tell us what it is?"

"A divinatory form of fortune-telling by reading tea leaves," Alex blurted out from the back of the classroom, her hand held up high in the air.

"tasseomancy is the art of divination using tea leaves" said luna eagerly, she had done a lot of revision

Professor Kotkin smiled at the enthusiastic answers. "Yes, tasseomancy is the practice of tea leaf reading. Now can anyone tell me the first step to reading the tea leaves? Remember, it is important to know who will be reading the tea leaves as well as who the tea leaves will be read for."
