Peony decided to try the Levitating charm on an inanimate object. She wasn't too sure if either of her pets would appreciate being lifted into the air. Grimwald especially might make things difficult if she 'accidentally' forgot the counter-spell. "Wingardium Leviosa!" Peony said, lazily, flicking her wand. Luckily it was an easy spell, and her quill rose steadily into the air. As the charms got progressively harder, Peony's cavalier attitude didn't help her.

"Accio," she said, pointing at the book. It shuffled over slightly, then fell down dead, like someone had shot it.

Peony frowned.

"Accio," she said again. The book sort of shook itself about as if saying: I've heard that line before, buster.

Anger spurted through Peony. "ACCIOyoustupidthing!" Since the last three words added were impromptu, and not very polite, the book didn't even bother. Peony looked around, hoping no-one witnessed her discomfort, and worked on reaiming her anger.

"ACCIO!" As if resisting was finally too much trouble, the book, which would have sighed if books can sigh, zoomed over. Peony caught it in her hand as it did, the first cool moment of her class.

Drusilla wrote the charms down, since she hadn´t taken charms last year. Or had she? She wasn´t sure. What is wrong with my memory, she thought, and shook her head. Just concentrate, girl, she thought to herself.

As she was looking around to see something she could practice with, she noticed some classmates having pygmy puffs. One of them was practicing the charms on the puff! Were those creatures more toys than animals, she couldn´t help thinking. She shivered at the thought about torturing her beloved snake Spike with such rudeness. The pygmy puff didn´t seem to be suffering, though, so she guessed it was ok.

She decided to practice Wingardium Leviosa with Spellbound Sound by Poppy Iggyana. That way she might be able have a quick look at the book again before the class was over. She resists the urge to skip the charms and read the book.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" she chanted and moved her wand with swish and flick.

next luna tried the summoning charm
she ppointed her wand at her book and said "accio!"
it had worked but not on the right item she had wanted one of the teachers books came flyind towards her and nearly hit her on the head
"oops" said luna after trying a few more times and a few more flying books she managed to summon her dictionary gently to her hands,
"cool" she said putting her dictionary on the table.
she had better luck with the banishing charm she sucsessfully made her book fly accross the room and land on the shelf first time

Adz practiced a while
"Accio" the book came to her
"Wingardium Leviosa" the book started to float
"Afficio" the book was banished
"Silencio"she pointed at no - one inparticular. Adz assumed it worked - as she had not seen who she had silenced.
"Expelliarmus" the wand came out of the hand of the girl standing next to her "Oops - sorry 'bout that...i guess i'm too good at charms for my own good...."

luna chuckled as she watched the boy near her do the spells before continuing making her book float up to the celing

Adz smiles at Luna as she tries to curse her book - just to see what happens....she laughed as the book blew up.
"Um....I may need to buy another one of those...."

luna laughed at adz and absent mindedly forgot to keep the book she was charming up in the air it fell to the floor and and picked up her book
"Adz, what were you trying to do to the book?"

"I was interested....educational experience i reckon...." Adz laughed, trying to clean up the classroom from the remains of her textbook.

"hehe you should say that next time you blow something up infront of a teacher, just say you were looking for an educational experience" she said bending over and helping Adz clean up

"Hmm....good plan...." Adz nodded - that would actually be a good idea....she started giggling then

olivia opened her book and wrote all the spells down....hmmm. i wonder which will be the easiest she wonders?
she chooses the wingardium leviosa spell and places her quill on the table
*swish and poke* "wingardium leviosa". nothing happened..hmmm
oh she said as she reread her notes.
*swish and flick* "wingardium leviosa".....a little quiver of the quill
well she things it's better than nothing

after a bit more practice she finally gets her quill to float. quite proud of herself being the first charm spells she has ever done she goes on to the next one

Having suceeded in doing all ehr spell she started to summon random things from around the room. She quickly quit this for she was not ready for the itmes to fly at her and she got hit in the head with a book. Rubbing her head she took out another mouse and practiced silencio.

olivia had figured out wingardium leviosa and accio. she decided to practice afficio.
"afficio book" she said as she flicked her wrist at her book. nothing but a faint twitch. "guess i shouldn't have assumed it'd be so easy just because i'd figured out accio" she muttered to herself.
concentrating a little harder *flick* "afficio book" the book slid about a foot down the table.
"that's a bit better!" she exclaimed to herself. she continued to practice for a few minutes until she had the book sliding back and forth on the table easily.
"now for the hard one" she thought.
olivia went to get one of the birds and hoped she could perform the silencio charm without too much trouble

Ozzy dipped his quill in green ink and wrote out the incantaions and wand movements from the board and put his things away. He left the class silently.

Lily copied the spells and wand movements once again on parchment and did the spells once again.Makin sure she had them done right.Shein that she did she quitely left the class remindin herself to return for the end to get her homework.

luna looked round at Adz.
"has the lesson finished yet?" she asked summoning a cusion from the corner and catching it

"I don't think so - the professor hasn't announced anything yet...." Adz said unsure, as she made the cushion in luna's hand circle her.

"humm" luna shook her head and summoned the cushion in the air back to her hand the made it fly up to the celing and accidentally made it fall on a gryffindor boys head
"whoops" said luna summoning the cushion back to her
"sorry" she said chuckling and turned back to Adz

Adz giggled with Luna, and then chanted an incntation to make three cushions come land on Luna's head.

"HEY!" said Luna sending the cushions flying into Adz face giggling

Matt began to banish leveral items like books and quills, and summon a couple items, like books people were reading. And was also able to silence one of the birds in its cage.

olivia cleared her things, checked to make sure she had the spells written down and placed it all in her bag.

Brandon cleaned up his things, glad the first lesson was review. He had mastered the summoning and banishing charms his first year so he was hoping the rest of the term would be just as easy. "Great lesson professor. See you for the next one." He turned and left.
