Ready to check out? Then you've come to the right place!
Once you've finished your shopping, you need to escort yourself to the check out counter located on the right side of the store. The shopkeeper can usually be found sitting on the wooden stool just behind the counter, but, if he isn't there at the moment, you are more than welcome to ring the green bell and just wait for him to show up.
Please place your candy on the counter so that he can see what you got and give you the right price.
Also located on the counter is a scale to weigh your candy if needed. Do NOT mess with the scale because if you break it, you're in big trouble!
OOC: Remember, no excess chatting in this thread. There are other places in Sugarplum's to chat with your friends!
ALSO, please specify how much of each item you purchase. I can't charge you correctly unless I know.
For a moment, she looked at his puzzled expression and wondered if she'd been reading the same newspaper? "It's terrible," she agreed."Well, she might come back." Serenity answered uncertainly. No she wouldn't come back, and Serenity would be just fine at Hogwarts. He grinmed at reached for the gummy bears, they were her fovourite, of course.
She reache into her bag and retrieved her purse. She clicked the fastenings and opened it, staring for a moment at the coins. She tried to remember which ones were which- she knew the big ones were galleons, but which were the sickles and knuts? She eventually handed him four galleons, deciding that was best, but also slightly upset at loosing yet more galleons from her purse.
Xavier grinned at the child with a comforting grin. "There's nothing to worry about," he said. "Hogwarts has the best team of professors and I bet you ten Galleons they scared that wicked witch away last term," he winked. He's heard great things about the professors from his godson, but wasn't so sure of the Head position since their was going to be a new Headmaster/mistress.
Either way, he was pretty sure the new Head would take care of the students.
The curly haired wizard then took the four Galleons and and took out the proper change. "Your change will be eight sickles, little ma'am," he grinned, handing her the remaining wizard money.

He walked around the room picking up various items and then headed to the counter, taking his place in the line. He had collected about a pound of maple fudge, half a pound of milk chocolate and half a pound of dark chocolate fudge, a pound of white chocolate, a pound of nougat (and he fully planned on eating all of that in the next half an hour; he absolutely adored nougat), two giant gumballs, two packs of invisible gum, four packets of bertie botts every flavour beans, two chocolate frogs and three acid pops. And nobody was going to take it away from him. For once, his dad had no say in what he bought, and he was enjoying himself rather a lot.
Woooweeee!
This kid was going to make his personal dentist riiiich! Of course, Xavier didn't say anything because, after all, his business was a sweet shop.
Instead, he grinned at the kid. "Got a bit of a sweet tooth there, don't you?" It was really nothing out of the ordinary because he's seen a more than a dozen kids already passed through with their arms full of sweets.
This was GREAT business, hehe!
After tallying everything up, Xavier looked back up that kid. "It'll be six Galleons, fifteen sickles and fifteen knuts, please." Dang, this made him remember his much, MUCH younger days where his mother would be running around, chasing him and scolding him for buying too many sweets. All the while, he'd run down the street, cackling to himself.

Kana had cut her hair over the summer, so it was no longer a fluffy mane of koolaid-red hair. Now it was chin-length and smoother. She was wearing a thin, longsleeved grey shirt that had the Ravenclaw crest on it. In one hand, she carried a canvas bag that contained items she had already purchased. She moved it to the bend of her elbow so that she could better carry all the... all the candy.
After a good ten or fifteen minutes of deciding, picking, and choosing, she approached the counter and set everything down. She had two packs of invisible gum, three packets of sour swirls, two boxes of licorice wands, five sugar quills (her favorite), four cockroach clusters, five fudge flies, and two jelly slugs.
Kana might've been thin, but she loved her sugar.
"Good afternoon," she nodded to the shopkeeper. Wait. He looked familliar. Kana tried not to stare as she reached for her back pocket to get her money. He just looked really, really familliar. And handsome. But mostly familliar.
Another one with a sweet tooth. Xavier really liked the enthusiasm these kids showed for sweets. It made him feel like...like the Merlin of all sweet things in Diagon Alley, hehe.
"Hello, there," he grinned. "I hope you found everything alright." ...
...wait. She was staring. Why was she staring? Was it his natural good looks? His brilliant, charming smile? His shiny, smooth hair? His bright green eyes? Yeah, he got that a lot. *smug*
He expertly tallied everything up and looked back at the girl. "That'll be three Galleons, two sickles and twenty four Knuts, please." Seriously, kids were his best customers. Not like the greedy adults who were too "mature" for sweets. Pfft.

Bae grinned up at the man, pretty pleased with himself, really. He had managed to save enough money to buy loads of sweets and he was fully planning to eat them all as soon as he could. Well, he'd save some for school... Some... Or not.
"Well, my dad won't let me buy them normally," he admitted, laughing a little as he looked over the masses of things he had there. "I thought I should make the most of it while I was here without him," he added. And that much was certainly true. His dad hated anything magical and anything sweet.
"6 galleons," he repeated as he counted out the galleons, "15 sickles," he counted those out too, "And 15 knuts," he counted those as well. "At least they should last me a while, right?" he grinned. Not if he had his way, but still, he could try to make them last.

Alexa hopped over to the counter with her hand full of candy. She was grinning from ear to ear as she dropped the delicious rewards of her earlier statement. Boy if she had know that her father would have gotten jumpy the moment she mentioned a boyfriend she would have threatened to get one ages ago! The idea was absolute genius! She looked back briefly to ensure that her father was coming right behind her with the money to pay the nice man. The glow that was coming from her face was hard to miss as she made plans of exactly how she would devour these--she might not have even waited until she got home!
Michael trailed slowly behind his bouncing 11 year old. Just look how happy he made her. No boy could have done that, nope, just him. A smile danced on to his face when he got to the counter and saw just how much she was glowing. This would definitely be worth it.

"Yes, Sir," she nodded once, her dyed bright red hair bouncing with the motion.
She was trying to figure out where she had seen this man before, which was hard to do without staring. Staring was rude. Staring was rude. Staring was rude.
She collected the three Galleons from her back pocket and set them down. Kanna fished out the three sickles from the front pocket as well. She furrowed her eyebrows slightly down at the counter, thinking.
WAIT A SECOND!
She looked back up to him, her eyes widened, and her mouth hanging open slightly. "You--You used to play for the Foulmouth Falcons!"

How would he know? Easy. "My godson, the Slytherin male Prefect, attends Hogwarts," and yes, he said it with a heavy doze of pride in his voice. "He'd tell me if the professors were no good, but so far he's enjoyed his stay there." And he was graduating this term. SIGH. When did his little boy grow up so fast? It was too soon...too soon.
Oh, she was asking about Wizard currency. "I don't mind at all," Xavier grinned. He brought out three coins and displayed them out on the counter. "This large, golden coin is the Galleon, which I'm sure you know," because she had payed with it. "The silver, medium coin is the called a Sickle and this copper, small coin is a Knut," he explained. Xavier was well aware the girl had asked just about the Knut, but a little lecture never hurt anyone, hehe.

Xavier grinned in an amused manner. "Don't worry about it, more than half my customers share your same issue." It was more like all of his customers under the age of seventeen that snuck into his shop and bought loads of sweets because their parents disliked it.
"They should, but you could always come back and refill on your supplies before the train leaves," Xavier grinned. Really, the kid should think about it, it was a smart idea.

"Well, then, you should come more often since I'll be ordering lots more of those." Actually, he was going to be ordering a whole lot of everything. Business was good right now and that made Xavier a very happy shopkeeper.
"Thank you." He took the money from her, counted it and then deposited it in the register. Oh yeah, he was going all muggle style up in here...though, it was protected my charms, hehe. "Here's a bag for your goodies and I hope you have a great day!" See, happy shopkeeper.

OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD!
Xavier had been patiently waiting for the girl to pay up when she said THAT!
A HUGE smile spread across his face as he beamed. "The one an only, Xavier the "Wreck" Baltazar," he chuckled. He had earned the name "Wreck" because of his fantastic beater abilities...and because anyone whom encountered him and his bat ended up in a wreck.
Bahahaha!
Xavier searched for something under the counter and then placed it over the top. "Would you like an autograph?" Free of charge, of course. All for his fans.

Wow. Slytherin Prefect. Seemed like the sweetshop guy was pretty happy. "Congrats to him!" she smiled. She knew they had two Prefects from each house, one boy and one girl, so eight alltogether. Who knows Kennedy might even be her Prefect. Didn't Bae say he'd met a Prefect... something about being nice and the red house...
She blushed as he pulled three coins from the till, which she now knew were a galleon, a sickle and a knut. At least she knew now, she had a pocketful of knuts because she kept paying in galleons. "Thankyou very, very much.." she finished. Yes, now she understood wizard money, things would be easier.
(OOC: Prefect? I thought he was HB- did he get demoted?! )

"Congrats to him, indeed. He's been Slytherin's Prefect since his fifth year," Xavier continued, proudly. Then he pointed at the wall behind the counter. There were several pictures of his children and some drawings, but he was pointing at one specific picture. It was of Kennedy with his Prefect badge trying to look away. The boy didn't seem to like his picture taken, but whatever, Xavier wanted to put him on his wall of fame, hehe. "That's him, right there." The boy with the green eyes and curly hair. Yep, that be his godson.
Aww, was she blushing. D'awwww! Kids could be so adorable sometimes, that's how his children downed his money. Heh. "No problem, I'm here to help," Xavier smiled. Plus, he enjoyed teaching things once in a while.

Lex smiled up at the man once he asked to have a look at her bounty. Quite a fitting name for it seeing as it was very much her reward for being so clever. She unloaded her treasures on the counter with a wide greedy smile. "Let's see... 4 lollipops, 5 chocolate frogs, 4 fizzing wheezbees, 8 lemon drops and a packet of jumping gummy bears..." She looked around, hoping something else would catch her eye before her father paid.
"Oh no you don't young lady. Everything you need is on the counter, don't go getting any ideas." He would not sit back and watch her go on a sugar rush later; he refused.

OOC: Xavier doesn't know Kennedy is HB, yet?
It was kind of cute how much this man loved his godson, enough to have his picture on the wall. The kid didn't look too thrilled to have a camera pointed at him. He had a badge - so the Prefects did get badges - and robes with a snakey on them. He had curly hair and green eyes. "I'll say hi if I see him.." Serenity said, wondering if she would. There were so many people, she guessed if she was in the green house- S-something, then she'd meet him as he'd be her Prefect, and then she got a girl one too.
"Well.. Thanks, I'm kind of new to this. Have a nice day!" Serenity finished awkwardly. She really hoped she got the hang of all this soon enough, she didn;t even have the excuse of being muggleborn.

She tried to push her lips together to contain her own smile when he reacted to her accusation, confirming it, really. And then he offered her his autograph! Her eyes went wide again.

Ah, the money, right!
Xavier almost forgot to collect his pay, heh! He scooped it up and dropped it inside the till. Then took out his fancy, green quill -- which obviously had a snake design on it -- and signed the picture. To one of the greatest fans in the world! - Xavier "The Wreck" Baltazar. He beamed at the girl and handed it over to her. "If you bring it on your next visit I'll let you have five sweets free of charge." He WOULD! He'd really do it 'cause his fans mattered A LOT!

Alexa's eyes went wide when she heard it say it only added up to 15 sickles. 15? Seriously?! Well that wouldn't do! Her father always bought her a galleon's worth of candy so what was all this rubbish about 15 little sickles.
She flashed around to look her father in the face. "See Daddy we still have space for tonnes more candy!!! Daddy please! The train will come soon then I won't be able to come here to buy moooooooooore!" She whined, now turning so she could cling to him. Glancing back at the counter the amount she had suddenly seemed smaller and much less adequate.
Michael looked down at his daughter, clearly unamused. Hadn't he taught her anything about the value of money? She should have been glad that she had gotten so much candy without wasting too much of it. He wouldn't always be there for her with his money so she needed to start thinking more responsibly. "Lex, that's enough--" Looking down at her adorable little face caused him to rethink that. He sighed. "Oh alright fine, what else do you want?"
She grinned up at him. Yay.

Yay.
Xavier just stood back with his arms crossed on his chest. This little girl knew how to manipulate her father very well. Too well that Xavier reminded himself to never fall for THAT when his daughters tried to pull it on him. Who was he kidding? He'd fall for it anyway...but they didn't have to know that. Hehe.
"We had acid pops?" he offered. "They made a hole in your tongue, quite fun." To some. His godson seemed to not like those ones. "Or we have Bertie Botts Flavoured Beans...but, that is only for those of brave souls," Xavier nodded as if it was the outright truth. Well, there were those foul tasting beans, so he was right.
Audric pushed his glasses up his nose, opened the door to Sugarplums and walked right to the counter. No time for sweets now, Xavier had asked him for help and that was why he was here.
He leaned on the counter rang the bell, waiting patiently for the owner and fiddling with te corner of his ID card. He'd clipped it to his belt so he couldn't lose it again. The cat seemed to love to steal it... along with everything else he owned.

Xavier had been in the back room organizing new merchandise in alphabetical order when he heard the bell ring. Business had slowed down since kids were sent off to school.
Making sure Cob was fast asleep in his play-pen, Xavier walked out of the back room and nodded at the man. Just the person he wanted to see. "Audric, thanks for coming," he said. The trace of a smile and the playful glint in his eyes were somewhat of a ghost on Xavier's face nowadays.
Stressful days did that to the man, and he was sure there were more to come. Anyway... "Would you like to step into the office storeroom for some tea?" Code for: I want to keep this as private as possible.

The next shop Kat had to deliver the Prophet to was Sugarplum's. You know Kat loved sweets and candies. She loved ALL of them and one of her favorites was chocolate frogs. WOOOH. Kat would've bought some if she weren't delivering copies of the Daily Prophet. Maybe pay a visit after doing so?
The blonde entered the shop and proceeded straight to the counter. "Good day sir," Kat said and smiled. "I am Katrina Hudson, an intern from the Daily Prophet and here's your copy of the latest issue." Then she placed a copy on the counter.
"May I ask, sir, if there was anything interesting or unusual that happened lately in this shop or in Diagon Alley?" she asked.

Business had slowed down and Xavier was glad for that because it meant he could go back to reading his Quidditch magazine. He noticed little hearts next to player's names and faces. Hmm. Seems like Peyton had gotten to it first. Aww, his little princess, cute wasn't she? Of course! She is a Baltazar.
*Proud father moment*
He turned the page when he sensed the presence of someone else. Looking up, Xavier smiled at the girl. "Well, hello there. Nice to meet yah, Katrina. I'm Xavier Baltazar," he beamed. Oh? Daily Prophet intern. Sweet. Xavier took the the issue. "Why thank you. Do I owe you anything?" he asked, reaching into his pocket. They did pay for the Prophet, right?
Xavier took some coins out and thought about the Katrina's questions. Hmm. Besides children attacking his gumball machine he hasn't noticed anything strange. And he was sure that didn't count because HE used to do that when he was younger, hehe. "The most interesting thing that's happened is the return of the students to the alley, other than that not really," he grinned.
Was there something to look out for? Hmm. Well. He was going to be on the lookout now.

Meet yah? Bloody accent. "It's nice to meet you too, Mister Baltazar," or maybe he preferred Mister Xavier? He could just tell her or whatevs.
Uhmm... "One knut is all, Sir," she said. That was what Skeeter man said right? One knut for subscription? It was good that this shopkeeper remembered to pay for it cause Kat was getting annoyed asking them for one tiny knut. They weren't so forgetful right?
Return of the students to the alley. What a surprise. Kat wasn't sure if he was being sarcastic or not. Oh well, she'll just keep that in mind in case Mister Skeeter asked. The blonde nodded, meaning she was considering it. Ok then.

Mister Baltazar? Meeh. Bleeeh. Eeeeh. It made him feel OOOOLD, and mind you, he wasn't. He could still swing a bat like in his old Quidditch days with the Falmouth Falcons and he could still fly like his sixteen year old self. Yeah! Either way, Katrina was probably being polite so he let it slide.
Ah, one knut. He should've known, then again it was his wife whom normally purchased the Daily Prophet. He dug deeper into his pocket and pulled out the small coin. "Here we are, one knut," he grinned, handing her it.
Well wasn't this a nice little visit. "Thanks for the Prophet," he said. "Oh! Would you like a sweet? It's on the house." She should accept that offer. Xavier didn't normally give sweets away for free, but since Katrina had been nice enough to deliver the paper then he'd return the gesture. That and maybe she'd tell all her friends about the nice sweet shop owner.
Chloe headed to the front counters with her awesome fuzzing whizbees in hand and waited to be checked out.
Ah, a customer!
Xavier set down his Quidditch magazine and smiled at his customer. "Hello there, hope you found everything okay," he said, though he knew the answer to that. His shop was spotless and organized. He liked it that way, and it was going to stay that way.
He eyed the Fizzing Whizbees in her hand and asked, "How many will you be taking today?" One? Five? Ten? A dozen?!

"Um, it's a box so I'll take a look at how many the box says are inside". She looked at the box, "It says 10", she showed it to the shop keeper. "So much will that run me?", Chloe asked hoping a bit of awesome candy would not run her too much.

Ten Fizzing Whizbees. Alrighty. "That'll be ten sickles, please," he said. That wasn't too bad. In fact he'd encourage her to buy more sweets but then he didn't want her to go broke. So he'd let her on her own instead of pestering. Hehe.
